DIY hookah depth test
We answered a couple of common questions we get and did a depth test on our DIY hookah rig and chased some fish around the marina.
The depth was checked on a leonardo cressi dive computer.
As we get closer to getting our boat ready to sail we look forward to learning to sail and doing some wreck diving on the lake.

Singer 4452 review and Sailrite duffel bag build

To complete a review on the singer 4452 Singer heavy duty sewing machine we chose a Sailrite duffel bag build with sunbrella marine fabric. The 4452 did exceptionally well for not being a commercial machine. The 4452 is not a commercial machine and if treated like one it wont last, it struggled on a couple spots on this build but nothing that could not be overcome. Singer's walking foot it work...
DIY hot knife

After a few weeks of taking care of family we are back on. While I'm at home we will be making new cushions, sail covers jib and main, and out board covers. We will be testing our new singer 4452 to see if it can handle the heavier canvas and upholstery fabrics on a budget. Sailrites are awesome but not everyone can afford a $1500 machine. We used the new diy hookah rig to clean the bottom of our new Catalina 25 sailboat. this sailboat hasn't been cleaned in 10 years or better. so the zebra muscles were a few inches thick. I built this system,WithOut the two soda stream bottles. When breathing from regulator i can hear the pump sound change as if im drawing the pump down. Any suggestions how i could check this out? Thank you

for the accumulator why not use heavy wall PVC?
I have received a Chinese made portable hookah but it does not have an accumulator or inline particle filter, just a tiny carbon filter for moisture. Would you be able to provide a parts list how you were able to link the accumulator air in and out plus joining the soda stream bottles together and linking the air filter, water separator. Including those quick release purple connectors. I am from Australia so NPT is not that readily available (but can be ordered) as the British system is what we are used to. I bought an air hose from Gator GIll, but just not familiar with the connectors. Cheers.

Look up how to adjust a second stage. There is a flat head screw inside the port where the hose attaches. Hope this helps.

@@sujstet @sujstet somebody else mentioned that some cheap regulators don't have an adjustment. I think I've heard 17 psi. they all seem to be the same. Technically there low pressure, low head aquarium/pond air pumps. The pro sys use higher quality, better rated pumps with much higher outputs 50-90psi. This is what you call a budget cheap system. Any strenuous activity is dificult and dangerous. Best for 3-6' up to 6-10' with Low/little activity.
Can't back off adjustment nut on regulator to work with this low pressure setup,need to get using 5mm socket...what's the trick to popping off cap on side of this reg..seems glued on real good..thanks

I recently built a similar set up... go with the 160 liter per minute pump.

Varies with conditions 10 amh lithium maybe 45 min to 1 hr.

how many liters per minute is that pump 120lpm or the 160lpm
160 lpm but its only at about 17 psi. Even the lenght of hose will effect delivery of air as well as depth and interior diameter of hose/ fittings. 1 person at best use.
Is the fitting in the pump casting 1/4 NPT Female if the hose barb is removed? Seems most people are keeping the short section of hose and putting a barb into that. (Edit: No it is not 1/4 NPT, it is smaller.)

Hi. Great videos! I have a question, when the pressure in the tank reaches the maximum around 18 psi and the pop-off valve isn't activated, will this damage the pump if it stays on?
I haven't had an issue with this yet, my typical run time without drawing air is only 3 to 5 minutes at the most. I try to conserve my battery as much as possible. The diaphragm could possibly be damaged if left running for long durations.

I’ve thought about doing a couple of the wallets that Sailrite shows on their TH-cam channel made from Cordura nylon with the banding around the edges. Do you think this machine would have any problems with that? Thanks

Do you know the amperage draw on these pumps? I just ordered one for a hookah system but I am trying to get my battery assembly set up. I need it to run at least 1 to 2 hours on a charge. I do plan on adding a solar panel to it to help keep it charged. I was thinking about a lithium Ion battery or a Life POV4 .
what thread did you use for the bottom thread - according to Singer you can't use a heavy thread on the bobbin as there is no tension adjustment. thanks
Its size 69 thread on the bobbin and it worked fine.

Great video, I am building one of these and have most all the parts purchased. I did get the same cheap Chinese regulator and am wondering how you adjust it. All other regulators are adjusted with a screwdriver after removing the air hose. There is no slot for a screwdriver in this opening. Do I need to remove front cover, loosen lock nut and turn out the mechanism on the inside to make adjustment? Thanks!
It has the same adjustment screw as other regs.
