Are UK House Prices about to Crash? (or just keep on rising?)
มุมมอง 2.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
After a spectacular year, are UK house prices about to crash? Some are speculating that a crash is just around the corner. After the dip and then spectacular rise in stock prices from March 2020, the housing market has mirrored this rise into 2021. However, some of the demand drivers that have powered the housing market up and up are starting to fall away. Fear of increase interest rates, lower...
Are We Heading Back to the 70s? (and what did well back then)
มุมมอง 4.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Are we heading back to the 1970's? Inflation, low growth, unemployment, energy crisis and a shortage of goods in the shops. Well things may be different. What a nightmare the 1970's was. It had the worst of all worlds. Aside from the threat of nuclear annihilation, the UK had high inflation and no growth, high unemployment, the winter of discontent, shortage of goods and fuel. Bodies weren't ge...
Are Interest Rates going to go UP?
มุมมอง 2562 ปีที่แล้ว
Inflation is climbing, supply chains are under stress, gas prices are going up so are interest rates going to up too? Interest rates have traditionally been used to combat inflation, but things may be different this time around. The government has got a massive debt pile to service. The last thing it needs is an increase in the rate it pays on this debit. What are the alternatives and what can ...

How to apply for Lasting Power of Attorney uk (& why it's a good idea)
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
To apply for Lasting Power of Attorney in the UK is probably one of the best things you will ever do - but how and why? If you die, you can have a will to decide where your estate will go. Even if you die without a will, your estate passes to people in a very prescribed way. However it gets complicated if you are incapacitated for any reason but yet bills and decisions still need to be made. If...
Where have I been? Not far, but miles away......

Sometimes life just knocks you sideways for a while. In my case a death in the family. Although expected, there is no way to tell how you will react. People say there are 7 stages of grief that you go through, but I'm not so sure. I think you experience some or all, in no particular order. Some days you hardly think about it and other days, you experience the whole gamut of emotions altogether....
How I should Pay for my Next Car? - 3 things to consider.
มุมมอง 3483 ปีที่แล้ว
I need a new car, but should I use cash, or should I lease, borrow or finance it. There are 3 things I need to consider to answer how should I pay for my next car. I don't want to buy a new car, but my not so trusty pickup has decided that it's time to move on and get something else more reliable. So the question is whether I buy using cash or finance. For me it boils down to 3 things. 1. Oppor...
Earning £100,000 and going BROKE! How?
มุมมอง 3063 ปีที่แล้ว
Are you earning 50k or even £100k and going broke? This is surprising common even if your income is much higher than the average. £100,000 is roughly 4 times the average salary but whatever the amount, it never seems to be enough. Applying Northcote Parkinson's Law, expenses rise to meet income achieved and this is the number one reason why, even if you earn millions of pounds or dollars a year...

Why is Inflation still so low? (and is it about to take off?)
มุมมอง 1473 ปีที่แล้ว
Inflation is the number priority for the Federal reserve and Bank of England, but by historical measures inflation is still so low - why is this? Inflation is both a blessing and a curse depending on who you ask. It is fantastic if you owe money as inflation reduces the amount you owe in real terms over time. But inflation is terrible if you hold assets like cash. Inflation in the UK has jut ti...
Is a Vineyard a good investment? (Why I started one!!)
มุมมอง 26K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Is having a vineyard a good investment? How much does it cost and how to make any money? Starting a vineyard is not a passive form of income. It does mean some time and effort to start it and also to keep it going. However, it need not be a chore, but a profitable pastime. Does history repeat itself in markets? (discover the best day to invest!)

Another great video. Just to clarify, do you mean that if you are investing for longer then the stop loss % can be higher ie a larger loss on the capital? Due to the compounding of the yield payments. So if a yield is 2.11% and im investing for 20 years, then the loss can be 42.2%? In your calculation explained here. But if investing for 5 years then the stop loss should be 10.55%?

Before starting an endeavor like this, one should do more research to first know what you are going to sell and how you will access the market. If you make it, they won't just come. You gotta sell it. Vineyards are like swimming pools. A lot of maintenance and they can detract from value for those that don't want one when shopping for a house. With that being said, sometimes just wanting one is justification enough, just so long as one can afford to lose money. Starting smaller to gain experience would be my recommendation for someone contemplating this endeavor.
