So far I have purchased exclusively from KEH and have had zero issues. My first purchase was a Canon 5D MK II listed as excellent. It was in pristine condition with a shutter count of less than 5K. Nearly new IMHO. I also bought a Canon 24-105 f4, also graded excellent. Couldn't be happier. Total investment: $1100.

Hahaha, I absolutely loved this review! I’ve been eyeing up the Rode Wireless Go II, but I was put off by reports of it cutting out unexpectedly. Battery life and internal recording time ended up being bigger concerns than I expected, which ultimately led me to discover this little gem. The option to sync in post is definitely more my speed, and the lock function is a cherry on top!

Can you dismantle it and remove the built in lens and expose the sensor and modify it to accept the c/cs mout lenses to see if this "toy" could be any usable...and seeing its limits.... will get better quality images/video than. The current potato pics/vids ..

I used KEiH a long time ago. Have never used MPB. I have seen positive reviews about KEH. About six months ago I discovered the used division of Roberts Camera called UsedPhotoPro. I went to their web site and found a Sony A1 listed under "Open Box" condition for $5500. That is for a camera that retails for $6499.99. The listing said less than 50 shutter count and all photos were of said item. I tested the shutter count upon receiving it, it was only two! The accessories were still in shrink wrap and camera was in mint condition, so in essence I got a new camera for a lot less than retail. They also have ratings such as Mint, Very Good, etc. I have since purchased more gear from them, but will look at KEH again as I am in need of some extra gear.

Not so worried about the number of shutter actuations in a mirrorless camera as I am in a DLSR. Not that shutters units in mirrorless cameras don't wear out, but the DLSR shutters include the mirror mechanisms and are way more complex and way more prone to failure and way more difficult to repair/replace. Not only that, many people who have mirrorless cameras use the e-shutter in their cameras, at least part of the time. I rarely buy from either of these companies, but I sell to them all the time and I take great care of my gear. I get more money per item(generally) from KEH.

KEH is awful. They lowball so hard. Just got a quote for over 1000$ less from KEH after checking MPB. They tend to be arrogant as well, in my experience.

I've only bought one item from KEH - a Nikkor 24mm f2.8 non-Ai manual focus that I got a couple of weeks ago. According to the serial number, the lens is from 1972-1975. It was rated as excellent, and it shows: perfect glass and barely visible marks on the barrel. I have not used MPB: they do not offer the vintage photo equipment that KEH does.

Just seeing this channel linked from your insta. Nice content! My comment will be months late and stale but liked the video and subscribed. Your take is great (on taking vs making). I describe photography as being good at knowing where/when to locate and push a button, so I found this relatable. Obviously there is a lot more to photography and videography: initial choices of lenses, filters, exposure settings, post editing, lighting, but the basic premise is unchanged since the first photograph: point lens and capture light, then go from there.

I Iave the 18mmm batis Zeiss and Sony 35mm f1.8 and my favorite Astro have been on my 35mm. Love the compression it brings of the core. I also use it for panos. Small enough to always pack

Used to get audio by a wireless mic untill it cut off a few times and had no chance to reshoot because I was travelling. Gave up on that wireless and now use a Zoom H1 and sync in post! Way better even if I have to set the gain in every eviroment, it's much better. It's easy to sync if you prepare for it. The best part is that I also get the audio from the camera with all the enviroment and my voice in it so I can do some mixing in that way that my voice blends better with the existing ambient sound, yet beeing able to deliver the best sound experience for the viewer! Now I'm already planning a two mic solution for capturing my motorcycle engine sound (on mic placed near the exhaust and the other near (somewhat) the engine), another one for my voice in the helmet and also a bit of the wind when traveling with my motorcycle. Gonna be EPIC!

Keh listings describe which accessories are included. I have never had them not match. Could be worse. I bought an RF 24-105 from an ebay seller who said it was excellent condition. Optically, images looked fine but ther were multiple blemishes on the glass.

i tried to sell a gh5s in excellent condition. mpb offered 375 eur. i didnt send the item as i felt it was ridiculous. now, several months later, i see several gh5s models on their site, lowest price being 814 euro and in "good" (not "excellent") condition. so yeah.. skip the middle man if you can. as a buyer you might get a good deal, but behind the scenes, the people who's camera it was (before selling it to mpb) probably got screwed with what they're willing to pay. oh, also, along that gh5s quote i asked for a quote for a lumix 14-140 3.5-5.6 i, in "good" condition. they offered 130 eur. looking now at their site, the same lens model, in condition also "good", is priced at the lowest at 349 eur. and they only wanted to pay 130. what an insult. i get that they're a company and have expenses, but cmon, not like that. its offensive.
