      @@RTarms the pros footprint is actually the same as the comp m4's , the pro is essentially a consumer/civilian comp m2. Only downside to it is the weight, I just today sold the pro actually and am thinking about putting a micro red dot or my hs510c I've got laying around on it. The Elcan does take some getting used to but I would argue a 4x acog would take an equal amount if not more time to get used to, the elcan has much better eye relief, has a true 1x inline with the 4x, has actual red dot brightness that can be left on for months on the high settings, all things considered I think the elcan is quite fairly priced in terms of what you get, I would get another one, just may not be a great idea since i have one already. The new Primary Arms PLxC 1-8X24 SFP might be the best overall pick but I haven't tried one out. Edit: I ended up buying a comp m4s off a local today, couldn’t resist.

    I recently got me a PTR A3S, and i've been thinking of wich handguard to get. My first thought was the Spuhr, since it's made here, and also used by some of our armed forces (Sweden), and it's also cheaper to get me a Spuhr than a Midwest Industries for example. Spuhr is made of 7075 alloy so it's really tough and can take a lot of use and abuse. The AC Unity also seem like a nice option, but i'm not sure where to get those, unless i can order one straight from the factory in Bosnia. I was issued an AK4/G3 clone as a secondary rifle when i did my military service, mostly for blank firing during exercises since there was so much blank ammo in stock the army needed to get rid of 😄 It's a nice rifle, heavy enough to use as an anchor, but simple, reliable and accurate. Very nice info, i'm subscribing 👍😀

      @@Psychonaut1974 I’m glad to have a subscriber from Sweden because 1. You all have the AK4D 2. Most (if not all, I’m not sure how your mandatory military service works there) have experience with it 3. From my experience, yalls English is outstanding and usually better than ours 🤣 I think the allure for me with the Spuhr is because it’s very good quality, lightweight, matches my stock, but it’s also sort of rare in the US. But as far as functionality is concerned, I think the Midwest Industries works better for me because the connection method for accessories with Spuhr is proprietary I believe, so I’ll just end up putting picattiny rails on anyways. Let me ask you: with the AK4, what were the optics you used? Aimpoint Comp m4? LPVO?

    • @Psychonaut1974
      @Psychonaut1974 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RTarms Thankyou :) Well, it's a long time i did my service, and my primary weapon then was the AK5, (FN FNC clone). The AK4's i was issued by then was just a basic one, iron sights, no optics, factory stocks, it was before Spuhr even existed as a company (i'm getting old!). The only ones that use the AK4D nowadays, is the homeguard, wich is similar to your national guard. Regular army has late versions of the AK5, but they are actually being slowly replaced as we speak (they are tested and approved, first delivery will start 2025), they are finnish made (SAKO) AR10/M4-like rifles, one chambered in 5.56 and one in 7.62. Also the old sniper rifle (wich is a modified version of the british Accuracy International L96A1) is being replaced by one in .338 Lapua Magnum, also made by SAKO.

      @@RTarms And...according to what i've read, Aimpoint delivered both Comp M5 and MPS3 sights a few years back. They might have other sights aswell that i'm unaware of. And there's a special elite unit called SOG, Special Operations Group, they don't even wear M/90 camouflage, they have Multicam uniforms, and use different rifles, (H&K 417 for example). To my knowledge they're the only ones issued "non standard" equipment/armament.

      @@Psychonaut1974 I forgot about Aimpoint being made there too. Man, you guys get all the cool stuff right there at your doorstep! That’s cool to hear a someone with actual experience with the AK4D and the Home Guard. I’ve heard, with the Ukrainian Russian War, that battlefield tactics of modern warfare have changed drastically in some aspects, and in other aspects, haven’t changed at all. Drones and thermal, for example. And a lot of 308 battle rifles were put in the backseat for the intermediate cartridge rifles like 5.56x45mm. But, they are starting to make a comeback now because of concern for enemy combatant body armor, and Special Operations have been asking for something with a little more reach and power since the global war on terror started over 20 years ago. All interesting stuff. I know a few folks that hunt here in the US. They speak highly of Tikka bolt action rifles (which is made by SAKO I believe) so I think you guys got a good deal with the new rifles!

    Bulgarian new production steel mags are great, you can get them anywhere from $12-20 a piece and the Bulgarian polymer slab sides are very affordable too and awesome. I bought a shitload of what was listed as Croatian but they are actually Bosnian, for them for $8 a piece and they are flawless. The look like yugo mags and like the Croatian mags but don't have the made in Croatia printed on them.

      @@RTarms try to find the Bosnian mags, I found them listed on PSA as Croatian but they areny lol but yeah $8 and they are built well, sturdy and have a blued finish so they look pretty good too well atleast IMO. They have bolt hold open and standard both. I had to go to the AK files to find out what they actually were. Most definitely the best $8 magazines I've ever found.

    I'm on the verge of buying Century Arms CA-3, does MP5 claw mount the same spec as the PTR 91's? Cent Arms 308 are made by PTR.

    • @RTarms
      @RTarms 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Lost-Orbz that’s a good question. As far as I know, the top of the receivers where the claw mount…uh….mounts to are the same. Most of the differences between the cetme build and Hk builds are small stuff, like muzzle threading, hand guards may need slightly dremel’ed to interchange, mags or mag releases may need altered to work, etc. but the major parts are the same, so I would assume it would work. HOWEVER, I’m just a hillbilly and don’t know a lot, so I’d call ptr and/or century and ask. I haven’t contacted century before, but I have called ptr and they were helpful over the phone imo. I’d hate to tell you one thing then you waste your money over a couple millimeters of difference.
