What an epic road trip that was! I'd happily do it again. And high praise to your skill in editing my waffle.
“Hello, sir. Welcome to Türkiye. Say Ki-shish-lash-ish quickly 10 times and I’ll grant you a room with air conditioning.”
It had been a long time since i'd seen it written down, looking at it now i appear to at the very least be missing a syllable The place where we got the turkish coffee was this little local cafe & I asked them how to say it
turkey pe0ple are wicked!!
I think most of the people don’t know Troy in Turkey actually
true :) Am actually checking my watch anticipating the arrival of the 'iT iSnT tRoY wAkE uP sHeEpLe' crowd [its not a 100% lock that the current troia site corresponds to the site of the legend, but its the closest match by a long way]
A great video showing the exploring 😊 was fun to watch , well done my friends 👍👍
really appreciate it! thks!
Pretty amazing ancient remains. I'd so love to fly fpv through them all! Love the storks!! Even two more on one of the 7 wonders... "Ancle level ruins" - gonna remember this. "Tricky sale" is another one that fits perfectly.
it is pretty remarkable - based on the Roman stuff in Britain you have a certain idea of: ok - this is what 2000 year old ruins look like, 'hey Turkey - why are you smirking like that?' 🤭🇹🇷🏛 'nah fam, just ...give it a moment'
@@ForestArchaicCollective That's why I'm doing a week per year on my own and going non stop from dawn til dusk ;-)
Great vid! Are the background tracks available also? Thanks!
thks! Yes search >>> Forest:JungleCollective on Bandcamp.com - it's all there
4:41 - 🤣. What an amazing gift to be able to relive a marvellous adventure!
Brilliant, thank you! ♥
Great to watch as always!
thku!
Fascinating! A country I know very little about, so this is super helpful :)
thks!
Lovely country spoilt by Makarious and his enosis nutcases and not checked by the brits who were a guarantee power and should have intervened then Erdogan comes along and turns a happy secular little paradise into a muslim enclave where the turkish cypriots have been marginalised by an influx of mainland turks. And just look at the exchange rate !! Welcome to a little piece of paradise full of turkish army bases !!
I join the Sevilla fan club, and your excellent episode whets my appetite to return to see more
thku!
Excellent. Makes me want to go back and see the bits I missed when I first visited.
thks!
Beautiful shots!
thks! :)
I just got back last week and had a great time.. lots of history! Brenttube
as a proud native Ragusian, i am impressed with your research and the way you`ve put it down
thks!
how many soldiers they have??
am finding estimates for Ragusan military strength hard to come by, The political dynamic of the republic revolved around their Ottoman Suzerainty , such that if they were attacked they could (in theory) call on the Ottomans for their defence, Since during the 15th-17th century the Ottomans had one of the largest & most feared army & navy in the mediterranean , the tiny Republic of Ragusa didn't need to have a huge standing army - rather they were famed for their diplomacy and mercantilism precisely to avoid conflict. What military strength they had was based mainly around policing their territorial waters
Lovely churches, especially the one in-between the apartment blocks. Awesome subway.
How you doing so much in one day is truly amazing!
lack of money is a great incentive! knowing you can only be there for one day makes you get a move on 😆
Such a wonderful vid, really appreciate the time you take with each clip and the information shared. Great voice and tone for this type of media too. Great job Good Ser!
The correct name is Ragusa di Dalmazia. This name Dubrovnik is rubbish fiction
Nah, you got it wrong, italians wish that it is the official name, but official name is Dubrovnik.
I feel like this trip would have been a 9/10 if it weren’t for FlixBus making you walk 40 mins
Avignon and Vienne had a cute atmosphere 😊
Great work! learned more then i remember from history books!
thanks!
Was at Vochali castle earlier today and thought of you - did my own lion watch 😂 PS. Been coming here for years in October and it’s stunning out of peak 😎
funnily enough, i have been itching to get back to the Ionians I actually came close to pulling the trigger on a Zakynthos trip last october but couldn't pull it off in the end :/
@@ForestArchaicCollective we come over every year. Virtually a second home now
Lets go, I would like to know more about Eleanor of Aquitaine's homeland!
In that case, you need a video on Bordeaux and Aquitaine.
Banger vid once again
In greece All mosqug is very beutiful ,❤ from INDIA 👍💐💐💐
yes! good to have you back
Looks gorgeous in winter ✨
Long time no see! Wow, great cathedral, love the shots Avignon (and a bit of air footage!) - great watercolor!
thks! yeah we had a hard drive crash & lost a bunch of progress & it ended up turning into a 2 month break :/ Been great seeing all your Norway footage - looks incredible!
@@ForestArchaicCollective Oh man, that's a bummer! I guess you have to revisit and now you know how to improve your journey...
Very atmospheric, and excellent photography. We are also surprised at the sights to be seen in that part of France. Quelle chance with the weather!
The entire island of Cyprus naturally belongs to Greece, and turkey country is the aggressor! btw: I come from China
Thank you for visiting our country, turkish republic of north Cyprus🇹🇷🤍❤️😍
Voice over is quality 👌
thks!
Thank you so much for this video. It’s my first visit to Greece but want to explore further regions now that I know more about this hidden history.
How is the internet connection there?
Fraid I can't recall, this vid is going back a few years now, you should have signal there just fine though I recall my friend from Guernsey complaining that the masts around Guernsey are all monopolised by this one company that ...isn't great
Funny how Turks claim the island was theirs all along
what’s the song in the beginning
It's one of ours :) Kaleiçi - Forest Jungle Collective if you search for "Antalya EP' by Forest Jungle Collective on Bandcamp its there, as well as all the other tracks behind the episode
@@ForestArchaicCollective thank you!
really interesting drum n bass channel speedy unique approach to a travel video
thks!
Love the videos. Finally travel vlogs that are beautiful and actually filled with information (instead of selfies). I'll be definitely going back to your channel. Small suggestion. It would be easier to watch if the music was a bit more quiet in comparison to your voice. After a while it is getting hard to focus. Great work either way!
thanks! glad you enjoyed it
@@ForestArchaicCollective I am re-watching it before going to Cordoba and I have to apologize - the volume is just fine. Maybe my little brain was melting because I was getting a migraine ;) Like the videos, music and humor, I'll go watch some more :)
This has to be the most awkward, awful and chaotic TH-cam video I think I’ve ever seen! It’s excruciating I had to stop watching! Surely personality should be a minimum requirement for a TH-camr? Toe curlingly embarrassing, horrible 😂
Go brave scholar.
My bet is these pepole where bronze age hellenic influenceed nuragic or possibly Mycenaean or a createan colony at a stretch. Im completely new to this civilisation so im fd if i know. As for slam dunks some writen language would help. But alas im provded f.a so its really hard to tell or make ass from elbow. Yeah this is a massive archaeological headache now im really interested in solving this ancient conundrum.
Yh it's quite the enigma They are simultaneously located at the heart of a highly interconnected Mediterranean world from the bronze age & into the iron ...yet they appear to be doing things in a way seen almost nowhere else, a surprising level of autochthonous development given their location
Even if you anger some Christian ultranationalists, whether Hellenic or in the Balkans, you have earned the gratitude - whether you intended it or not - of Muslims like myself. I live in the U.S., but when I go to Greece someday Inshallah (God willing), I would like to add some of these beautiful masajid to the Parthenon et al. Thank you.
Go deal with your ultra muslim nationalist before you comment on the Christians.
@@nilssonharrison Some Christians are good people. I have met some Christians that care about the Palestinians than fellow Muslims, and these were Greek people. Of course, they were not ultranationalists. Finally, who are you to stop me from commenting on anything?
@@aasifazimabadi786 Masajid? At the Parthenon? Never again. That's insulting. You can keep commenting. I hope one day to eat pork and drink beer while visiting the al-Ḥajar al-Aswad ٱلْحَجَرُ ٱلْأَسْوَد. I never implied for you to stop commenting, I asked you to go comment on your backyard and take care of your weeds. Why are the Balkan people Christian zealots as you write? 400 years of jizya. Shhhhhh
@aasifazimabadi786 Masajid at the acropolis? You are a Muslim extremist. How barbaric of you. I never wrote or implied you're ability to comment freely.... like I am as well. One day Zeus willing, I'll visit the ٱلْحَجَرُ ٱلْأَسْوَد, al-Ḥajar al-Aswad aka a big shiny rock, and I'll take holy communion with wine and pork.
