Gears with internal teeth should be modified by expanding internal diameters a little bir for easier shifting. With custom parts it is impossible. By the way, sphere should be little bit smaller for best fit to stick.. Anything else seems very nice but needs some sandpaper :)

Am I wrong or should it be spinning faster as the gears go up and slower as the gears go down? I'm thinking in terms of torque, I'm not super familiar with gears so I may be having a dumb moment.

Have you thought of 3D printing a ball bearing to stabilize the shaft?

I had a good look at the video but can honestly not understand how the input shaft works. There is the small gear driven by the motor but is it just friction of the gear being pushed against each other that makes them all turn? None of the input shaft gears are locked onto the shaft or it that how it is supposed to be?

Absolutely awesome!!!! Is this full scale according to an actual F1 gearbox? What is the distance between the 2 end-plates if I may ask. I am going to buy the project on Cults3D but just wanted to get my head spinning so long.

I just finished my gearbox. Assembly was a bit of pain in the ass. A lot of rework was necessary. Almost all holes were too small. The small gear for the reverse was to near to the other gears which leads to high torque ripples. Nevertheless it was a great project and with the rework it runs smooth. I will add something for the backwall to reinforce the housing. Thank you for your work👍

i think u might have tweaked the the design.... the first and second gear are the bigger and the second big gears.. but the the third and 4th are different... your 4th is not a direct drive like traditional arrangements. but it works
