Very nice story. This story reminded me the days I spent in Manipal some time ago for my grad school. Those three years are wonderful. I liked that area very much except for that nagging, depressing and relentless rain. This story brought back that rain scene back to memory once again. LOL! The food is OK in that area, if One is a vegan. I was discontent . Nothing beats Andhra food in the entire southern India in my view. The only thing that stuck with me is “Idly and Chicken” for breakfast. I tasted it for the first time in Udipi. LOL! The main character’s initial thoughts reminded me my thoughts when my health permanently turned to worse a few years ago. Now I no longer think that way. I learned to take one day at a time. I changed my thought process from “I lost everything what I have” to -“ one can not lose what he does not have.”. This knowledge gave me a sense of relief and started enjoying every small pleasure I come across. Finally! I am finding my solace. Thank you Anil Garu for giving me an opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful story. I was waiting for this for the past few weeks. Thank you so much.

Very nice story. Difficulties common people endure in daily living are described by the author very well in this story. Hunger pains are unimaginably unbearable. Only people who experienced them, knew their intensity. Who would disagree if one says - hunger pains are not too far behind the labor pains of pregnant women - in causing human suffering and pain. What surprised me in the story is that a well fit military officer choosing to use a ricksha to go to a restaurant in the city. Money buys luxury. LOL! Request: could you please read some stories from the book “ Pachanaku Sakshiga”. All those stories are in Chittor district accent, if I remember correctly. Thank you.

Oh…God! Another great story that reflects relentless human suffering. I listened to this story with heavy heart .There is no end to human suffering. Our society is dealing with extreme fatigue about human suffering that led to inaction. This story reminded me Maxim Gorky novel ‘Mother’ and also The bronze statue of a poor mother holding her limp baby that I saw in Vijayawada Government Hospital campus several years ago. Both reading that novel and watching that statue gave me similar feelings. Had this main character of the story “Subhashni” equipped with enough financial resources, the author might have ended the story differently. She might have stayed home to take care of her child. Indian society needs to reinforce its social protective safety net. As I know it, eastern half of India deals with extreme poverty worse than western half. I dream about India’s future as a country that will implement robust Universal Basic Income to bring people out of extreme poverty. I really admire the author for bringing to us such a wonderful story. Hope to listen more stories from this author. I thank the reader for doing such a great job with her Beautiful voice.

Nice story that depicts the mindset of Indian police officers. As far as I know, Indian Police officers never hesitate to display their feeling that they belong to top of the food chain in our society - just like polar bears of North pole and Orcas of the oceans. Unfortunately, people who are at the bottom of the Totem pole bear the brunt.

What an amazing story! Brought tears to my eyes. Being together for a long time, make couples to complete each other’s sentences. The desire to live together with intense love and affection might trigger desire to move on together as well. Even then, at times , they may not succeed in reading each other’s mind correctly. I suspect, that’s what happened in this story. Regardless, as a single person, I did not earn my right to comment on this subject, I suppose.

Hello! It is a wonderful story. I immensely enjoyed it. The main character of the story, the street dog - demonstrated the sorrows and suffering of human life and the endurance we need to survive - to the listeners. Your reading style , Telugu accent and pronunciation of words brought glory to the story. The vocabulary used by the writer in translating the story gave me great joy. For example “thataluna” and “avasesham” are not the words I did hear in the recent past. Hope to listen more of this kind of stories in the near future. Thank you very much for your great work.
