Harvesting food grade soybeans with our John Deere S780 and Draper
We’ve started harvesting our transitional soybeans, these are food grade non-gmo soybeans that will be used to make tofu. We’re running our s780 combine and 640fd Draper. #johndeere #unverferth #farming #organicfarming

Strip-Till 2021
มุมมอง 496ปีที่แล้ว
One part of our current farming practices is strip-till. We till a 6-8 inch strip of soil, apply out fertilizer then plant back into those strips in the spring. Our 9460R is pulling our Black Dawn One striptill bar with Pluribus V row units. The tank is a Montag Gen 2 giving us the ability to apply two products at 2 different rates.
1989 John Deere 9600 demo
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
The last of our combine demos in the 80's. The one we decided to purchase. The John Deere 9600. We ran it along side the 8820s harvesting beans, and it ate the 8820's lunch for capacity and comfort. We were able to drop from three combines down to two with 9600s. its cool to see them running side by side.
New Holland TR96 Combine and Brent 770 demo. 1989
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
Fall of 89 we were looking to replace our 8820s. We previously demoed the Case IH 1680 combine, then the New Holland TR96. The 8820 combines were walker machines, the 1680 was a single rotor machine and the TR96 was a twin rotor combine. At the same time we were looking to replace our Orthman carts and got to demo the new Brent 770 corner auger grain cart.

Fall of 1988 we started looking at replacing the 8820s, Case IH brought out a new 1680 combine for us to demo. We ran it along side the 8820s combining corn. We ended up staying with Deere machines, but cool to see.

soybean harvest 1990

Soybean harvest 1990 on our family farm in northern Illinois. This was our first year with our new John Deere 9600 combines, Brent 770 carts, and 853A soybean heads. The 853A was a row crop soybean head produced by Deere in the 90's. We ran them due to their ability to follow ridges in our ridge till system we used at the time.

    Grandpa bought a 9500 brand new in 89. Since we didnt have any crop ready yet, they had him harvest a neighbors corn so they could take a picture for a magazine. Those were the days

    yes that's true, those were tough times in certain contexts, but i think they were the cooler times. Compared to now? The mid-80s were an absolute dream. Not so much of this digital crap and this fake-stuff. No mobilephones. So much was so much more real. I personally miss that time and those ingenious machines where you didn't need a notebook to fix something. Yes, somehow it was all better... I love these kind of videos. Thanks for uploading!

    How do you like the triples?

    • @j.p.faivrefarms
      @j.p.faivrefarms 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As far as a tire machine goes I don’t think you can beat the floatation of triples. Ride is decent, but the width isn’t great and trying to get the ballast right can be a chore. I’ll take triples over everything but a quad track
