Ode to Liszt: Etude in G# Minor (Original Composition)

Wrote this piece with the goal to sound similar to Liszt. Part 1. Hope to finish it soon. The piano sounds a bit on the tinny side.
The Problem With Mahler's 5th Symphony
มุมมอง 16Kปีที่แล้ว
Did you know that Christopher Walken inspired Gustav Mahler to use cowbells in his 6th symphony? Okay...he didn't, but I thought it would be a funny joke. #classicalmemes #mahler

Ballade In A Minor
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Original Composition. Still learning how to fix sustain pedal issues. Trying to write pieces that sound similiar to Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Chopin, and Liszt. Let me know in the comments if there is a type of piece you would like me to write!

Mahler’s Resurrection symphony actually made me sob like a baby the first time I heard it. The message of “Be strong and don’t give up” paired with the music really resonates with me.
Mahler himself is a bit overrated. But the hammer? Nothing to do with the real music. Silly and most overhyped meme.
I thought he hit the guy on his head lmao
The first time I saw Mahler’s Sixth performed, the “hammerstroker” literally leaped into the air and came down with a ferocity that was FELT throughout the auditorium. So yes, the Mahler Hammer definitely had its effect upon me as well! 😊
Should have put rite of spring, that would be more accurate
Does anyone know which mahler symphony is this?
3rd
Ndie se ha atrevido a expresar las emociones más violentas y profundas del hombre que el gran Mahler. Escuchen por favor la sexta sinfonía. Es estremecedora.
ChatGPT just offended all trumpet players.😡
😅, tf
Mahler's music is Heavenly
Oooof the feelings run so deep
That was funny. (long time fan of Mahler)
Mahler Timeless
Astonishing, Deep all Symphonies of Mahler 🙏🤩🌹
LOVE BERNSTEIN'S MAHLER
Even the one completed movement of his Tenth can shatter one to blissful smithereens!
I think symphony 9th is too low
The proof that AI ain’t really got it is, its inability to deal with both Mahler and Proust. The app cannot truly step up to the best the human imagination has to offer. And, yes, I agree that it doesn’t matter because the bot is taking over.
You know what recording this is? I listed to the one in the video and it didn't sound the same. Like how bright the brass is in the one in this video...
this is what the 3rd blow of fate must be.
This is amazing 🤣🤣🤣
Love
Wagner approved
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7)
I actually agree with some of its notes on the 3rd symphony, particularly the length of the work, but i have to say Mahler's 9th being ranked 13th really confused me. I thought the adagio was incredible (actually my favorite movement of his and arguably my favorite ~20 minutes in all orchestral music)
Yes, this is exactly how I cry when listening to some of Mahler's works 💛✨🎶
Mahler’s symphonies lift the soul into the sky, but Mahler 2 raises you into heaven itself
Hey Gustav! Leave my heartstrings alone!
What movement is it? Shazam refuses to cooperate
Last movement from the Symphony 3, some minutes before the end
That happened to me the first time hearing this symphony 😆
ChatGPT being bold ranking Mahler 7 at #2. (I love the piece too, but critics over the years often call that his worst and silliest symphony, as it contains quite a jokey, sarcastic quality that I adore)
On point! 👌
Bernstein ❤❤
This is legit how i wish classical music was conducted, people don't need to just sit quiet, make some noise, show your enthusiasm and that just makes the music even better
The only prescription is mOrE cOwBeLl
I’ve seen once where the soloist passes his violin to the first chair, and they pass it back further and further.
Setting aside both the issue with counting down and the fact that it should be including the 10th and Das Lied in its ranking, there are actual reasonable opinions in here (gleaned from what the internet says about the symphonies, presumably). At the very least, the descriptions of the symphonies are reasonably accurate as far as they go. It would be weird to put 7 so high in the ranking, and both 1 and 5 seem a bit short-changed, but I can sort of imagine a human critic with a fixation on the 7th symphony coming up with something like this. Better than expected, over all.
Music really can move me this much. It's wild.
This just sounds like a bunch of opinion pieces put together from a library of opinion pieces written over the years. It's not special at all.
Ugh-Brahms. Discount Beethoven
L take
This is my dream, lol.
Me Too Bro....!
2:08 When a symphony is ranked 13 out of 9 you know you are listening to a robot!
The adagio from his 6th symphony is the best emotional movement :)
Hits you right in the balls
For the emotions I feel listening, I can't decide if I prefer Mahler or Wagner... Elsa's procession to the Cathedral brings me to tears each time I listen to it and when I play it
Yes !!! Elsa’s procession to the cathedral will always hold top spot for me. Played it in the youth section of the Black Dyke brass band, with 100 other musicians on stage. That much brass at the end, good lord. Oh, and an organ. Chills to this day.
The problem is that it's poorly composed and lacks form entirely, being just a collage of non-cohesive musical ideas.
You just showed your ignorance.
@@bilahn1198 ignorance to your religion, that's right. Ignorance to music? Absolutely not. I don't care how much you like mahler, nor how much of a genius you believe him to be. He's a terrible composer.
@@Whatismusic123 Why so bitter? That you are unable to comprehend what so many others can?
@@bilahn1198 just like mahler's supposed genious, my supposed bitterness is just your delusion. You comprehend nothing.
Do you stick Mozart Kugeln up your ass?
I don't understand Maher, or other composers of his time.
This is how my inner self genuinely reacts to the last bars of Mahler 2nd symphony.
No, you didn't 😭😭
