We gotta get rid of the breakable tools, at least if customization is gonna be a main-stay. Silver tools should return, and golden tools shouldn't break at all. That, and more dialogue/different personalities with our villagers. And more store updates! Nook's store only getting one/two upgrades when in all previous games it had four/five is insane to me. 😭

Nice to see the island's gotten 3 stars now, and that you've the waterscaping and cliff construction for terraforming, as well as a selection of custom codes to use. With the decorating officially started, the road to completing Utopia continues! And I think you've made a great entrance for Utopia, Twilight. Well done! It's a great start to the decorating. It's understandable you won't be able to stream on Saturday because of that family event you said you have to be at. Family comes first. I hope that event goes well. I'm sure you'll be fine! (If you're reading this after that event took place, then I hope it went well.) Also, an Animal Crossing game in the style of The Sims sounds interesting. That'd probably take decorating in Animal Crossing to new heights, adding more ways of customisation and more possibilities, as well. Not only that, but maybe it could also lead to more interactions with the furniture? Nintendo did something like this in Happy Home Designer, with villagers and players being able to jam to K.K. songs with maracas and tambourines, holding utensils in front of food items placed, gaming away on the arcade cabinets and tabletop games, the list goes on. In a Sims style Animal Crossing game, they could expand on this, and perhaps give other furniture another purpose as well as for decorating (it's only a minor idea compared to expanding the decorating, though, and I don't think it'd work that well, if at all.) A game like that probably won't happen, but if it did, I bet it'd certainly be something.

I kind of wish that Nintendo changed this option on picking up the Maps they can incorporate relevant questions like what is your favorite fruits? Which will indicate your native fruits What is your favorite color which will indicate the color of the airport what is your favorite flower which indicates your native flower and etc., and they can randomize the river mouth

Fashionable, hilarious, and overall too good. On a side note, that Halloween island Kailey made really was brilliant.

2025 now

I went on a mission to create blue (and then gold) roses. The use STORE BOUGHT SEEDS should be shouted from the rooftops. It took me 6 weeks of daily play using the BackwardsN model (I think) to get a blue rose. One thing that helped me was clear out an area and use custom designs to designate what step of the process I was on. Next, just in case I messed up, I kept the original flowers from each step of the model (not watering them, and binning any flowers that the earlier generations produced (or put them on another part of my island to not get confused.) That way, when I was down to step 5, and realized that I had screwed up which genetic red rose I thought was correct, I could easily go back and get what I needed instead of being crazy frustrated and scrapping it all. I also kept notes and a diagram…for me, that’s helpful. But, my best advice for blue roses is to keep the OG part of each stage of the process there to use, keep it cleaned, and then, if you see there’s an error, it’s much, much easier to fix. (I actually had fun doing it, it was a real challenge! I was a little bored after getting to 5 stars, and it was fun to work on. I never want to do it again, but it was fun. I just restarted my island I had ignored for a year cause I didn’t watch any videos and know how to pick and island, then I thought flattening my island like skilled island designers do was a good idea…this is a bad idea!!! Then I made disaster terraforming all over the place and hated my island. This time I refilled repeatedly for a good map and plan to do minimal terraforming! But, the first most important thing I went to my son’s island to drop off to save was a big ol pocket full of blue, gold and black roses! (And a lot of Nook miles tickets.)

I said I was sure you’d get Cephalobot one day, and now you have! And it’s even better you found Ribbot, Roscoe and Spike, as well! That’s a big step forward to getting all the villagers you need for Utopia. Hopefully, you'll have this kind of luck again for when you gather everyone else you’re looking for. Anyway, on the topic of the new Mario Kart game, if there will in fact be 24 racers in a race instead of 12, chances are it’ll be more chaotic than ever. It already gets wild enough with items, the speed classes and the hazards some of the tracks have, and adding another 12 racers would only make it wilder. As for the Nintendo Switch 2, even when it releases, I think I’ll stick to the original Switch until I’m ready to move on to the next one. That’s all I have to say this time. Looks like things are looking good for Utopia so far, and I reckon things will continue heading in the right direction for the island. Congrats on getting those four villagers, Twilight!

I don't agree with your whole take on villager hunting. I don't think you should be doing that. You should make friends naturally with who you end up with. Criticising the long dialogue was maybe intentional. You aren't suppose to go to and island stay 10 seconds because the villager you want isn't there. This is gambling at best and we all know how bad gambling is for you brain.

How can i get different fruit trees?

My burnout is mainly necause of my island half is done and i dont know what else to do so idk if to restart or if to tear it down

Nice job on handling the three new villagers, and it's great to see Resident Services was upgraded. As for Colton, he's not a bad villager in my opinion, but it would've been better for it to be Cephalobot. I'm sure you'll get him on the island one day. Also, a library would definitely be interesting to see in Animal Crossing. As you might've discussed during the stream, reading the books could teach you about things like hybrid flowers, and by reading it, you could have it in your inventory to review hybrid flowers and how to make them. This might be a wild idea, but maybe there could be a book that gives tips and tricks to catching tarantulas and scorpions, and once you've read it, when catching tarantulas and scorpions, if you have the button held down to prepare to catch them, an exclamation mark will appear above the player's head when the perfect time to swing comes, if that makes sense. Other books could have stories, which would mainly be there to entertain the player, and here's a thought: maybe there could be biographies of some of the special characters? (Imagine hearing Blathers' backstory in a biography for him. We could learn what started his fear for bugs.) I don't know if that last bit would work, but I'm mainly just sharing the thoughts that came to me when writing this comment. Maybe Nintendo could take notes from this?

Your island looks so good!! I’ll have to try out some of these ideas on mine. I never thought about doing a rock garden! And the scenic view and duck pond are just so cute, I definitely gotta add some of these ideas to my island

I really hope, especially with mouse-con, that the new AC includes some kind of 3D modelling features. The possibilities would become infinite for our new islands/towns! I’d also like to have multiple towns. Maybe one that resembles old school AC, where you pick a couple fruit, water your flower patch, chat to your villagers (who actually have a personality this time), and then a separate town that’s a complete unrestricted sandbox. And then you move in when you’re ready. In New Horizons, the design/build aspects really felt like they overshadowed the daily chores, the characters and the SOUL of animal crossing. I’d love to see the successor find a better balance between these two styles of gameplay.

After redeeming it many times, Anksuna finally won a free sabotage. Truly a historic moment. And it certainly brings back fun memories, especially with the chaos that followed this.

My favorite part of the island is the wheel area, ofcourse. That area eats all my fairy dust. I can't say no to a good spin. Seeing you build this island was so much fun! And the flag turned out amazing!

I’m going for a simple island because doing a themed island takes a lot of work and then I lose motivation. It was overwhelming so I’m going for something simple instead.

So, this marks the start of making Utopia. It'll be interesting to see how this island goes, and it'll be interesting to see the backstory of Disturbia, supposedly showing how it came to be. If I feel up for it, I might show up to be part of the journey, even if it's only briefly. But, if I don't, I guess I can always check out the VODs and leave comments to say my thoughts about the island's progress, and the possible chaos there'll be along the way. With that said, it sounds like you've got your plans at the ready, and I bet it'll be great to see them in action! It'll be a fun journey for everyone to see you develop this island, and the story it has to tell.

So, Sycamore's finally complete, and its dream address has been set. I may've not been part of the whole journey, or for the end, but I did at least show up for part of it, which is better than not showing up for it at all. Anyway, you did brilliant once again, Twilight! Congrats on finishing the island! (And I bet plenty of memorable flower festivals will be held there!) There have been quite a few memorable moments, such as the chaos, the gifting, the villager hunting (along with that outfit BrainSeer got you to wear), the mannequin invasion, that autofill, the community games (especially with April's creative hiding spots), the order bot announcement, the dad jokes, me getting you to praise us, me swindling you with my friend SlyFox (sorry about that, by the way), Anksuna trying her luck with wheel spins and finally winning a free sabotage, and likely plenty more made while you worked on Sycamore. You had your ideas, and you had our support, and because of that, Sycamore's turned out as great as it has done. You can bet you'll have our support for the next island, as well. While I can't promise I'll show up during then, I'm sure everyone else will be there to support you, while also spread some chaos here and there. Here's to another island being completed! Edit: Okay, so from what I've seen, it looks like at the time I wrote this comment, the island wasn't exactly fully completed, so my mistake. I'll try that again: Congrats on ALMOST finishing this island during this stream! Villagers need to feel different ans unique, otherwise there isn't much difference between the. I would really like if the whole friendship stat we have with villagers was revamped and interactions with villagers would change depending on how high or low the stat is. Having unique conversations with villagers about things they like would be nice, and maybe you would have to work to get this interaction, like getting their friendship stat to a certain level and finding them to talk. One thing I would really like, though, is to go back to being just a villager again instead of having power over the village. No more dictating everything like you could in Horizons. Also, bring back public works projects and go crazy with them, from building a tennis pitch, to a castle, or a farm, or big home where multiple villagers/player can live together, or race tracks for bikes or rollerblading or karts. Or maybe a plane that functions as a restaurant. Would also like the village to feel more connected to the world, so having the train station back would be good, along with a road that leads out of the city for cars, buses to use. And a cool feature would be being able to take on jobs of various kinds and work for bells so as to give the player another means to get money aside from selling things. nice video, fellow player.

I wish there was more ways to get DIY resepies and other Fruit for People that dont play online. Also a larger Store with more furniture wuld be great. I would also like for things like the shou store, the plantstore and so on to be on the main island and not having to trevel there. And somwehre, mabye a extra room in the museum to desplay geroids.

Honestly, I think the whole having complete control over your villagers thing is one of the problems that New Horizons has. In the older games, villagers can just leave. There's little control over it. This made you actually need to treasure and befriend them while you have them. They also seem more independent and as though they have free will, which helps with the game's environment. Another thing is that it's sad when they go, and this gives some emotion into the game. I can see how New Horizons giving all the control to the player is convenient, but it also leads to things like villager interactions being useless. People just treat their villagers like decorations because they can't leave unless you give them permission, their dialogue (and the lack of options as to what you say back) is so boring unless they talk to each other, and there's such a huge emphasis on aesthetics compared to village life (heck, decorating your island and house is pretty much all you can do).

In terms of villager personalities, the villagers definitely need to be more "realistic" and less one-dimensional. In New Horizons, the villagers love you at first sight. The only thing that changes when you're a complete bully to them is some friendship score which doesn't affect their personalities at all. Very different from the older games (especially Gamecube) where the villagers actually treat you like the new guy and you're trying to fit in. If you annoy them they become extremely rude, but if you speak to and help them they slowly become your friends. It was _really_ rewarding to become friends with the snooty and cranky villagers back then, because it was difficult! Basically, we need a real friendship system which affects the personalities of the villagers. As for one-dimensional, the best example is the sporty villagers talking about nothing but sports constantly and nothing else. Though, it is funny for Hamlet actually. He's that dude on my island who clearly doesn't lift at all yet constantly talks about it and likes to challenge villagers which are obviously way bigger and stronger than him.

We need something more like the city (in City Folk), where there can be random villagers you've never seen before walking around and you can talk to them. It made the game feel so alive to me as a kid, and I spent a lot of time in the city because of it!

As someone who loves to design islands, I often move items from one island to another (more than one Switch here). I wish, like the ABD feature added in the 2.0 update, they would have gone one step further and allowed players to access their own storage while visiting another player. Talk about loading screens - it’s such a pain when you are flying to and from another player’s island and can only pick up or drop off 40 items in a trip 😢
