You can buy a lot of games on eBay, which is my favorite way to buy games. It is much more satisfying to have a little cartridge in your hand, which you can sell any time you want. The prices are really stable, sometimes even rising, depending on the game. But the system is far away from dead. Can absolutely recommend. 👍

I bought the shells from AliExpress. The shells are often only available for a short time and next week there is a new dealer where you can buy from. And cleaning the surfaces and the little spots and parts inbetween is more convenient than taking the whole device apart. But yeah, it would be a bit more clean at the end. 😊

@@HandHero0711 How much did you pay for them? Did they fit well because a buyer from Aliexpress said this: "thicker than the original, the bottom is more ill fitting than the top. it wasn't fitting around the headphonesl Jack and it was bulging out pretty bad ,I used and exacto knife to shave it from the inside and it fits with almost no bulge now. there is over spray inside too that makes it even thicker you need to shave some plastic off to make it for better bit it still doesn't fit perfectly. there are also some minor bubbles in the clear coat on the top shell. I love that it has the silver diagonal lines under the paint just like the original though. the top fits a lot better than the bottom but it does stick out slightly and when the lid is open and you are looking at the screen you see that the top overhangs a little. I don't think this part can be shaved down like the bottom because there are plastic clips there. shaving the inside of the bottom made a mess too. Overall not bad but not perfect and not as good as the original the console feels fatter now too."

I wish I could find those cover plates in good condition, because they are a little messed up.

I had one and wanted to repair it. The case and the display was broken. But failing repairing another one with a broken display, frightened me to try it again. 😬 But I really like the white colored 3DS XL too, glad you are enjoying yours. 😊

Yes, I made a whole video about it. But didn’t list it. Here you go: - Plastic Spudger - Sanitizing Cloths, medical purpose - Microfiber cloth for drying - Fanttik E1 Max Mini precision electric screw driver I think that’s it. 👍

It is super easy. Follow the steps until the motherboard is unscrewed, so you can lift it. But you need to unplug a few ribboncables, recommended is a flat plastic spudger like you see in my other videos. Maybe watch my last video from a week ago (Nintendo…WHY?) and follow along the disassembly until the motherboard is loose. 👍

@@HandHero0711 how do I make sure that the ribbon cables are attached properly?

@@crustytomatosoup737 The cables are attached to plugs which have small clips you need to lift prior to release them. Later, after replacing the buttons, you plug it in again and press the clip down carefully until it clicks. Very gently pull on the cable to make sure it sits in tight.

These had the unfortunate timing of being produced a lot and coming out before the N3DSXL in the US by a few months, though I believe we already knew about the N3DS either right before launch or just after, so these never built much momentum. Just bad timing for this edition, I think. Would've been super popular if it was a New model, like the Majora's Mask version

Yeah, you have a point. LE are kind of a thing from the past. Hope it doesn’t die like a lot of cool things in this industry in the past.

If they actually made some good limited edition switches that weren't just effectively stickers on the dock and slightly uniquely colored joycons, I might have invested in some of them. They've barely done any that affect the Switch itself and that's sad. They could at least do more with the Switch Lites. I think losing the clamshell hurt the LE market for Switch

True! In Central Europe we had about 20*C a week ago and then it plummeted to 5*C. So all the plants were flowering for a short time extremely and then we were left with them alone at sh***y weather. So the worst of both worlds. 😂

You are absolutely right. First it was blocked by the ring from the hinge, but I released it and shifted it to the counterpart from the display. But in both cases it needs to go through the round opening and in both cases it’s very terrible to get it through. But I think I will try again someday, just for the balance. 😉
