@ that is the same in America. I Drove the road for 20 years. Love watching trucking in other countries. I so have a question if you don’t mind. Your driving time and sleeping time. What are the regulations on that. Over here we have 11 hours of driving time and, 10 hours of off duty and sleeping time. But we are allowed to be on duty for a total of 14 hours max with driving and non driving. It looks like this. 11 hours of drive time and 3 hours of on duty but not driving totaling 14 hours, but if you spend 5 hours at a shipper you deduct 2 hours from your driving time. Do you have something like this. So sorry for the long letter. Joe
@@joec2083 here we have maximum 10h of driving time, twice per week. Normal amount of driving time is just 9h. We can drive maximum 4:30h and then we have to take 45min break, and then we can drive another 4:30h. And if we want to drive 10h, instead of 9h, then we have to take another 45min break and then we can use this 10th hour of driving time. 45min break can be split, into 15min break as a first part, and 30min as a second part. So you can drive for example 3h and take 15min break, and then drive remaining 1:30h and take 30min break to have last 4:30min. Working time per day is usually 15h. And working time includes driving time. For example I'm stuck in traffic for 7 hours. So my driving time in not running out, just working time. But when working time will drop to the same amount as driving time then I'm running out of both. 15h of working time, -7h in traffic, it means I have 8h of working time and driving time left. Even though I started with 9h or 10h of driving time. In other words, in those 15h of working time, I have to drive 9h or 10h including my break time, if not, then I'm going to run out of it anyway daily. Sleeping time, we can have 3x9h of sleeping time. And rest is 11h. Weekend rest, normally it's 45h, but it can be short 24h rest, once per two weeks, but if you are abroad then it can be twice 24h, but then in my country I have to take around 60h break. It's really fucked up.
@@DaniTruckerson almost sounds the same as us, but with a little variation in rules. I have noticed that in Europe you really do not have the type of truck stops that we have here in America. From all the videos I have seen not too many people show truck stops there. In your next video could you show a truck stop in Europe. That would be cool to see. I hit the subscribe button and I will get a notification when you post. Be safe out there my friend I will be looking forward to seeing another video from you. It is a pleasure to talk with you. Joe
@joec2083 oh yeah, people don't show truck stops because we don't have them....I mean there are so few of let's say real trucks stops. Like: Angel Truck Parking in Hungary, you can Google it. Or Autohof Places in Germany, most of them are available for trucks, but sometimes not. And still, those places will have parking for trucks, toilet maybe with shower. Some shop or only has station. And everything is paid. Each country has its own typical truck stops. A bit better is in UK, much better truck infrastructure at truck stops. You can wash clothes etc. the other place where I saw washing machines for truckers, it was Turkish border. There are many private truck stops in different countries, it really depends.

Hi Dani, I have to give you credit for dealing with all those check points just trying to get from one place to another. The amount of petrol you use just sitting at these places is incredible. Thank you for making this such an interesting trip. 👍
@@RichardParker-hc6dn oh yes, that's something worth mentioning, amount of diesel used for moving in those lines is just beyond science. And turning off and on, your engine over and over again does not solving the problem, especially during winter when you want to stay warm inside.
@@DaniTruckerson can't you use the webasto? afaik you don't need to turn on the engine for that.
@@procyon826you brought up really interesting idea. technically yes. It depends from truck. In Volvo FH (with so called dry webasto, not wet one) you are turning on webasto, when it reaches certain temperature, then it's turning off automatically. And then temperature is dropping, and even if you feel cold, but temperature didn't dropped to certain lvl, it's not going to turn on. You would have to turn it on manually again, or set higher temperature, which means cooking environment for driver. Other thing is, it works kinda loudly at the beginning when it's pushing this air in, and whenever turning on. Another thing is, that in Volvo (new models, I'm not sure about old ones) you can't have this hot air coming out from normal vents, just from those special webasto vents. In my Mercedes it was different, because hot air from webasto came from normal wents, so it was like normal. After all, I personally really don't like to use webasto when I'm stopping and moving stopping and moving. And amount of wasted diesel for engine work using neutral gear, from while month, it was 70 liters. Some people say it's a lot, some people say it's small amount. It's wasted diesel at the end. But it wouldn't be much difference between this and between diesel used by webasto.
@@DaniTruckerson that's interesting, thank you for your detailed answer
@procyon826 sure. And in summer it's totally different, because A/C must run all the time, otherwise it's instantly around 40 degrees inside 😂 cooking environment instantly. I guess it would take even more diesel during summer, due to air conditioning working all the time.

Everyone wants money 😂😂 at every checkpoint 😂
@ Yep, the border police guard, the custom officer, the traffic policeman… they all want money… except they don’t call it money, but “coffee” 😁Would you buy me a coffee? Do you have some change for coffee? And the smaller and less frequented the border crossing the bigger “the coffee” 😁 Balkan people really enjoy their coffee 😁
Yes, they are asking sometimes to change coins for paper bills, and of course they will give you one euro less than they should, because they will buy coffee for it 😂
@ Since Bulgaria and Romania are joining shengen from 1 st of January, they would have to “soften their attitude” and speed up the border crossing process. Otherwise, they would lose much of the traffic that is now transiting through Macedonia and Serbia. Most of the trucks would go through Bulgaria and Romania, although this route is much worse in terms of road infrastructure and fuel economy
@@carli2302 yes that's true. But it will take some time for this Schengen to work perfectly. Because we need some different method of payment for bridge in Calafat for example. Because you will have to I guess still stop, get out, go to bridge checkpoint, pay with cash or card, go back to truck and then go. And the Romanian weight area can slow down everything, I don't know if they will let it go or something. So I guess there will be still line to wait, if they will keep old bridge payment and weight area, because Schengen means I don't have to show my passport and load paperwork, which takes only moments. We will see.
Danny, I understand that, being from Poland, you may not be particularly familiar with the names of Southern European countries. However, to illustrate the significance of this Southern European dispute for us, let me remind you of the situation with Upper Silesia. Upper Silesia is primarily in Poland, with a small portion in the Czech Republic. Now, imagine if Czechia after separating from Slovakia, named themselves not Czechia Republic, but suddenly decided to rename itself Silesia Republic, and launched a propaganda campaign, claiming that the Polish part of Upper Silesia rightfully belonged to them. That is precisely the problem we face here. There is a region in Greece called Macedonia, and another country has adopted the same name after the collapse of Yugoslavia, and initiated a propaganda campaign claiming that the Greek region of Macedonia belongs to them. Is this really happening? Yes, unfortunately. Their ultimate goal is to separate all of Northern Greece and annex it to their territory. This includes cities like Kavala, Serres, Thessaloniki, and Florina. They claim to be the true Macedonians. Imagine if the Czechs claimed to be the true Silesians! It's quite absurd. Therefore, it's crucial not only to refer to the country as North Macedonia but to avoid using the term Macedonia altogether. "Monkeydonia" might be a more fitting term. At least with monkeys, they'll have a better chance to claim some regions of Kongo or Cameroon. Monkeys !
@@iggo45 I understand you, but I really don't care about Silesia, or any other land. I'm not the person to discuss land claims or national stuff. I don't have any nationalistic feelings, I'm just alive on this planet, for some years, having fun, and finally God will call me back, and that's it. The end.
I understand that, being from Poland, you may not share my concerns. However, as someone from Thessaloniki, this issue is of great importance to me. I do not wish to one day find myself needing to learn a new language, enroll my children in a different school, or see unfamiliar supermarket signs, and no longer be a European citizen. The conflict is on my land, not theirs. While I understand we are not here to discuss politics, but rather to follow your travels, it is vital that we do not inadvertently embolden those with dangerous ambitions. Have a safe journey, my friend.
@iggo45 yeah I understand that you are concerned, about your future, and future of your children. That's important topic for many people. I think that future can be always changed, in history we have plenty of examples when individuals were able to shape future, to shape history. @@SebsTruckStop Hi, I'm working directly for a company, normal working contract. In Poland you are getting always normal contracts, I have heard only about drivers from India and other non European countries that are coming here via agency and then working via agency. But whenever you are coming to Poland by yourself, then you can normally work without any agency, directly. Owning a truck in Poland is not so common, when someone owns a truck, then usually soon he is renting another trucks and making small company. I'm sure you can find companies in Netherlands, and Germany, that are driving internationally using some systems of work. For example 3/1, 4/1, 2/2, 2/1, 3/2, 6/2, 8/3 etc. first number means amount of weeks on the road and second number means amount of weeks at home. I'm driving using a bit different system, I'm doing so called routes, trips. Which are taking between 7 and 13 days, and then I have at least 2 days off at home. Days off are actually negotiable with company, sometimes I need more sometimes less. This works for me now, because I don't have any family etc. and driving Turkey, Greece or Balkans roughly speaking, it's very hard to find any other working system. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
@@DaniTruckerson Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate your information, it helps a lot. I would love to do that myself; I think it would work best for me. 8/3 sounds amazing to be honest. I would not mind that at all. What's the furthest distance from home you've driven? And what do you know about Warberers, LKW Walter, and such companies? You sometimes see Polish plate trucks from those companies driving as far as Kazakhstan!
@@SebsTruckStop those working systems are negotiable with companies. Especially when you want to drive for so many weeks. Furthest distance it was to Konya in Turkey, yeah. Nowadays it's harder to go to Kazakhstan etc. because Russians are forbidding transit for Polish trucks via Russian land, due to war, etc. But I can see offers from Poland to drive Morocco for example, but not always, it's usually connected with Spain or whole Europe roughly speaking. I can see offers to drive Ukraine and Moldova, or just Moldova, or just Ukraine (Lviv city). There is job to drive Scandinavia of course, or Greece, or Italy, Spain Portugal. A bit less offers for Turkey now, but it's just because Christmas are coming. I know lkw Walther, massive company. Sometimes they are hiring directly, sometimes you can see local companies just carrying their trailers, depends. There are plenty of companies from Turkey, driving to Germany to UK, but it's hard to find some company driving from Germany, for example to Turkey.
@ I see. So you can choose the jobs you take?
@@SebsTruckStop It depends from company, if they have lot of loads, and dispatcher is kind for you, you know each other, then he will tell you: I have load here here and here, which one you want? Otherwise, you drive where they will tell you to drive. In my case, loads from Poland are already fixed in advance, trailer is usually loaded, sometimes I have to load it. And loads to Poland from Greece or Turkey, it really depends, sometimes everything is set, and you are arriving for load and boom, you have to wait a day or two, and maybe company will find something else. Sometimes loads are contracted, which means always same Loads from same place, or same loads from different places, for same company. But in Europe, there is still lot of work, all depends what kind of company you will choose.
I traveled with two guys in a car with Dutch plates through Serbia. What do you think what happened when we entered Serbia from Hungsry? Yup, we got pulled over for a full check and a lot of questions about the purpose of our trip. Not as thorough as yours where you had to strip down. We got lucky with only full baggage check. The questions were quite silly if you’re not into the trafficking business. “Do you have guns with you? Do you have drugs (hashish and marijuana)?” My answer: “Uhm no, I’m on holiday. I was not planning to spend my summer in a Serbian cell.” “Are you sure?” Me: “Yeah pretty sure! If I wanted to I would walk up to the first student I see in Novi Sad I would probably have one.” The officer smiled and nodded you’re right and said: “I’m just doing my job and don’t want to get in trouble when you exit and my colleagues do find contraband.” I just smiled back and acknowledged.
@@heybirader interesting, so I had completely opposite experience, when I was driving through Serbia to Turkey with my private car (polish license plates). I had just simple passport control at the border and then nothing else, guy just asked me where I'm going, I said Turkey, and he actually wished me good road in Turkish language 😂 I said thanks in Turkish language. Maybe he thought I was Turkish, because I look like. But yeah, it all depends, but after all they are just doing their job, that's it.
We need the Daniel Traverson name back
It's going to be for different content. Here I will stuck just to trucking.
I am sorry for that bad experience with Serbian police. I had the same one in my own country... and thanks for those nice words about my country... stay safe, Slavic brother.... and 1312! PA that thing about 5e to border police its not true. You can pay customs officer but bot the police...and that route is common for smugling drugs by Eastern European drivers, like 'big mules'...you can pay traffix police officers for some minor faults, but for the big ones, theybhave stimulatons on their pay checks..
Well, after all, they are just doing their job. They handled everything professionally, separate closed room etc. it was just not something that you are experiencing everyday 😂 but interesting experience anyway 😂 now I know how it is 😂 And Serbia is really beautiful, seriously, plenty of untouched nature, nice views. Hopefully they will improve transit procedures, because now you need lot of paperwork and special expensive permits to go through, if they would improve it, then much more trucks would choose to go via Serbia. That's what I thought, that they got a hit on someone who was smuggling and then every driver was searched.
@@DaniTruckerson I agree, 100%. I am a driver also, so I spent like a 2 months of my life at that border... :) But, every country has its own hickups and hurdles for a truck driver. I like to observe people and their attitude towards us, drivers. The best one for me is the Netherlands. The most chill and polite people, ever.
@@srdjan6004 For me it's Turkey, people are basically okay with you parking anywhere, as long as they can pass. And even though traffic is crazy sometimes, everything somehow works, and trucking there is really nice experience. Not so many rules, and restrictions.
@DaniTruckerson I've never been in TR...I hope I will, some day... Keep posting, bro..if you need something in connection with Serbia, be free to ask...
@@srdjan6004 thanks man 👍💪 try Turkey one day, but maybe when they will sort out border, because waiting time it's still hell 😂
Turn your head and cough Dani! Hey from Arizona! Stay safe out there!
