My concern about Trump being president is he will interfere in some of our campaigns and be successful in shutting it down. He can do so much more to swash decent. Also I don’t think he will care to play within the rules of democracy. The best we can hope for is that he will be too preoccupied with his trails and court hearing to have any bandwidth for us. He can still delegate that to someone more competent. I expect it will be bad. Either way it’s going to be a rough road ahead.

Greg has had my attention since I watched his early TicTok contributions. There is such value in the man's actual, visceral experience with both war and empire which, when coupled with exposure to the colonial history, NGO global experience and media savvy produces an invaluable describer of present world power dynamics and reality. This was an extremely useful talk on may levels, many areas. I have hope in the present crop of young people eschewing our worthless legacy media, doing their own discovery and sharing. It augurs well for our very endangered species. The fossils that threaten us refuse to just die off. Love and respect. Kicking USA, UK and Israel out of UN (article 6) and then relocating the entity. David Sheen is a valuable source for understanding just how desperate the situation is inside the Zionist Apartheid state.

I got out of the Marine Corps in 1991, and I had a Pakistani friend who told me about the Intifada, which started my education on Palestine. Hey I remember you from peace house! Whatever happened with them? I remember they were more of a social Democrat/left-populist outlet, have your politics changed since then?

He is closer to the truth than 90% of the so called alternative media analysts who still want to hang on to the claim that Hamas is the blame for Israel's genocide. Blame the victim.

I did a little calculation using something called the Fermi method to estimate a more accurate death toll in Gaza. During the bombing of dresden during world War 2, dresden had a population density of about 3000 people per square kilometer. The allies dropped 4000 tons of explosives on dresden, and resulted in about 28k deaths. That is a kill rate of around 28k deaths ÷ 4k tons = 7 people killed per ton of explosives dropped. Gaza has a population density of around 5000 people per square kilometer and Israel has dropped around 80k tons of bombs on Gaza--the last time I checked. Also there is no medical infrastructure or civil services working in Gaza--unlike dresden. So assuming the death rate of Israel's genocidal bombing of Gaza is similar to the allied bombing of dresden--though I imagine it would be worse--about 7 deaths per ton of explosives dropped, then a reasonable estimate for the total deaths in Gaza--from bombing alone--would be about 7 deaths x 80k tons = 560k deaths. That is a reasonable estimate just from bombing alone. Let's assume, then, that for some reason the people of Gaza are significantly harder to kill than the people in dresden--let's say half has many Palestinians die per ton of explosives. Then that would be 280k thousand deaths from bombing alone. And remember, the population density in Gaza is almost twice as high as the population density in Dresden, the Civil services and medical system are completely destroyed in Gaza, and the people don't have any food. I just wanted to point out that there is a reasonable argument--based on historical data from past conflicts--that up to 560k people have been slaughtered in Gaza. Even if half of that estimate is true, there would still be 280k deaths. Lastly, the point I'm making with all of this is that 40k deaths is an obscenely low estimate the obscures the true magnitude of Israel's genocide in Gaza. This argument and these points need to be brought up more often, so I'm bringing it up here. I'm leaving this thought everywhere.

Brilliant stuff. One minor correction: The Vietnam war lasted 20 years (1955-1975) and when it started there was no protest movement. It's not until the late 1960s, so maybe 13 years into it, that the student movement picks up. Kent state in 1970 is possibly the high point. I think with atrocities being live streamed and war criminals bragging about their criminality it's a whole different picture than it was back in the days when we got our news from one old white dude on CBS.
