    I think it would be cool to see this TAS be completed and have people like PC, Drxx, and Alpharad react to it. I’m actually working on a Hardcore Nuzlocke TAS of Ruby myself that I hope can show off the whole game with.

    4:39 it’s actually a fourth of the way through the dex total. 15/60 is 1/4 while 1/3 would be 20/60

    Bro this is amazing, the amount of dedication is immense, you should post this on the poc discord/reddit cause this deserves way more views Also is there a reason why you arent getting 6 rare candies at a time?

      If you mean "why aren't we getting 6 candies after every battle?" it's because that's literally impossible. There are no rng seeds that would get you that ever. If you mean "why aren't you waiting until the party is full of items before taking them off?" it's again because of limitations in rng. Sometimes the next double candy is split so that one would land on the first zig and the second would land on the sixth zig. The only way we could get the double candy is to have no items on any of the zigs, so we take the time to menu off even if we only have a few items because the extra candy will save time in the long run. It does look weird that we're not getting too many candies at one time, but considering that picking up 2 candies is ~1/10,000 and picking up 3 candies is ~1/1,000,000 and this was done in about 300,000 frames, it makes sense that there aren't that many opportunities to get multi-candies. We actually used an A* search to find the path for getting candies as quickly as possible, so we're confident this is close to optimal.

      @@Pika250 Yep, the plan is to feed 10 Protein to Zubat, sell the other 16 and 4 Nuggets to buy 10 Iron and feed those to Zubat. We're not planning on using it in battle though, so we won't focus on getting high stats. This is just for getting enough friendship for the earliest possible Crobat.

      The RTA strat is to Bite before using the X-Acc to ensure a guaranteed kill with 2 Blizzards. The alternative RTA strat is only a range to kill the Gyarados, so most runners don’t do it The Theory TAS saves a turn by finding the Bite Crit, preventing the need for two Blizzards

      Venusaur has 214 HP left after sandstorm damage. Non-crit Hyper Beam does a max of 145. Moreover, Metronome move choice is restricted by the RNG. A Hyper Beam kill loses 241 frames to this Mega Kick, because there just aren't any Hyper Beams at that point in the RNG

      @@user-ei8vz8xy1j There are no faster choices. Any earlier moves would require both a critical hit textbox and a super effective textbox, which takes longer than that delay+menu manip+crit textbox

      @@user-ei8vz8xy1j sadly not. Mega Punch has pretty much outstayed its usefulness by Round 2. And Clefable needs a crit Blizzard to kill Venusaur anyway

      There’s not a good menu to do it in. Even if you teach Blizzard during one of the menus when you use the Repel, it is slower overall. Specifically, taking the extra time causes you to miss the Cloyster Metronome, which snowballs from there

      That’s probably going to be the most manip-heavy fight in the entire run. It takes three max roll crit Blaze-boosted Embers to three-shot the Squirtle

    why replace fire blast with shock wave (still have enough metronome to use as you just use shock wave only 1 time)

      Because metronome is extremely slow to use even in the best-case scenario. IIRC I couldn't find any kills with metronome that were faster than teaching shock wave, although that will vary depending on where in the RNG you are. When I reroute, I'm going to make sure that I have enough mega kicks left that I don't need to use either option
