    Silly question : I'm about to do a podcast, do you think Reaper would fit for podcasting and if so what plugins will I need in order to control my audio FX Or do you think is too much?

    I made rap music as a teenager back in 2008 to 2011. I started in Audacity but soon discovered Reaper. It was so intuitive and easy to use. I got back into making music over 10 years later, so I also went back to Reaper. Just amazing how easy and fun it is. I think it's an overlooked software, I'd recommend it to any beginner, no matter how young you are!

    I'm willing to hear you out, but there's so many DAW's paid and free, anything over 40 to $60 is a waste of money. There's enough free DAW's for PC and mobile that are already cutting edge and don't cost a dime. MPC Beats is bound to dominate everything particularly when you can run the entire DAW as a plugin on other DAW's. *I'm a Magix Music Maker guy for one specific reason; nobody, absolutely nobody else can compete with the speed of workflow.* I've learned literally well over a dozen DAW's over the last 20+ years and to great depths, but I still end up back on Magix. *It has functions that are toy-like but they're actually superior tactics for again, agility and speed of workflow.* I'm also not drowning in menus and submenus like virtually every other DAW on earth.

    I'm a daily Reaper user since 2014 and I don't think Reaper is the best DAW. It's good for a lot of purposes but there are many and many annoying situations (I could write a long list.) in practical use in which Cubase or Pro Tools are simply better. I'm a professional sound engineer and music producer, and I think claiming that Reaper is the best DAW is just silly.

    Reaper works like a dream, just need to get the learning curve, the biggest problem with this is 'what can't it do', you don't realize what its capable of....and it's so small and efficient, just crazy.....

    I need to learn Reaper finally, thanks for the nudge. I have been using one of the oldest since it was a very different thing, Performer. It does everything I need it to, but not necessarily comfortably. I can see from demoing it and from tutorials that reaper is fantastic, robust, light, agile, and has a superlative community, unlike the horrors of MOTU land... worse than apple fans. I am gonna do it this summer, just have to engineer either a pause in workload or put in extra time.

    Two you omitted are Digital Performer and Mixcraft. DP is at the Pro Tools $$$ level and not really for this thread. Mixcraft has only one major issue for me - it does not zoom to sample level. The basic and Pro versions differ only that "Pro" includes a lot of plugins, the core DAW is unchanged.

    switched from Mac back to Windows and was looking for something similar to logic that would run on my machine. Gave reaper a try and never looked back - really slick and easy to use. Never gets in the way. The stock plugins sound great and barely use any system resources. Took a little while to find a layout I like, but now it's just exactly perfect. Can't say that about any other DAW.

    Basic function of Reaper is so easy to understand. Not like FL studio or Cubase. ( I dont even know how to gain in cubase except using fader) Eat computer resource smallest to compare with FL studio and Cubase. Midi: FL studio need time to set up the pedals, and other two grid just up to 1/128 note. And reaper can adjust 1/1024 note and beyond. That impress me

    Wow! Nothing about Dune3, Sylenth, Spire, Falcon, Halion, Phaseplant, FM8, Synthmaster/One, the Korg/Roland/Arturia collections, Rob Papen's synths? I mean, Hive is nice, but to leave out Sylenth? ANA is good, too, but no Falcon? I also like Pigments, but to include it while ignoring Synthmaster? And honestly, Vital is a superior wavetable synth to Serum which decidedly has no place sitting at #1. That should be held by Diva or Sylenth or Falcon. And honestly, Avenger is superior in every way to Omnisphere. It's less of a ROMpler and has vastly better sound quality, synthesis methods, and effects. Just my opinion, of course. You're free to your own opinions. But I do feel many of these really miss the mark.

    Decent selection but I'd add at least Synthmaster 2 and Massive X for the versatility and lively sound characters of those two synths. At least technically (apart from the lack of WT import on Mx) both outperform something like Serum by some stretch. Another thumbs up for Dune 3 and the older Air Music synths.

    One day Serum is going to be forgoten just like Massive was. I wander if Vital is the new hype or there is something else that is lurking behind the corner.

  • @aspirativemusicproduction2135
    @aspirativemusicproduction2135 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The problem with this kind of videos is they don't mention synths native to a DAW. I was Messing with some synth native to Cubase. I was very tempted switching to Cubase just to use their synths and sounds. I Use FL Studio but it's more me adapting to it than adapting it for me. The mobile version is better but you are limited on synths. You can automate everything but it would be nice if you could do more inside the synths themselves. Anyway, the main point here is that DAW synths don't get mentioned. But someone may like a synth in a DAW and buy the DAW for the synth or synths it may offer.

    Reaper drives me crazy. I get a section marked for punchin recording and after doing it all of a sudden my mouse starts moving the tracks and getting everything screwed up. I would just like the tracks to stay the default size and lenghth and stop expanding and contracting evey time I finish punching in and moving my mouse anywhere near the recorded tracks.

    i tried the free version of reaper for two days and on the third day i uninstalled it. Not fit to me at all. I found it tedious, difficult and very ugly UI. For my own tastes king of daws are Logic and Fl studio. Also i'm not the type who i spend my tones of time to customize something to look more affordable and easy

    it looks like reapers a keeper... i am a newb but an educated one (astrophysics degree with a lot of digital signal processing)...i am using bandlab as the training course until i get set up...i find the cut and paste aspect nice but after only a few days, limiting... was a very easy learning curve... what's reapers initial learning curve? like bandlabs or will i have to study the manual with a 1-800 operator to understand how to lay a high hat track? i wouldn't mind the latter, it was like going to school, but i would like to be prepared... i can bet a personal licence for 60...which is awesome...

    I bought the producer edition of FL Studio and have been using it for like 15 years. I've never paid for an additional plugin from them or an update. Any other plugin I need is usually free. As a producer I don't really worry too much about size of files and being able to transport my DAW with me. If I record at a friends house I bring my track stems and then we mix them as a rough draft using whatever DAW is available, then I just take the recorded tracks and the rough draft version home with me and mix in the vocals in FL Studio. And now that they have AI mastering it's kind of a no brainer. Reaper looks cool but even if I was new I'd go with FL Studio if I had the money.
