Why would anyone WANT to retire though? It's not a goal like many expect it to be. Ok, it's a milestone because you worked a long time to achieve it and made at least decent financial decisions for it to be something that you can rely on. I have no qualms there. It should NOT be something anyone is looking forward to though. Unless you set yourself up real pretty like in retirement, retirement is a downgrade in your lifestyle. You don't have as much to do, you go a little stir crazy. You might end up finding happiness in buying stuff, spending the money you need in the future. You need other people to do the things you wanna do and your subject to their timeline but you're tired of waiting on others. I do maintenance work for older people and deal with this all the time. I just got the job details but the instant I show up I'm already a week late and the customer is not happy.

If you don’t lile your job. Quit and get a new one or study and get a career
