Ah, my friend Enrique! Yes, I finally got around to recording this. Well, I actually recorded this back in August, but I've been spacing out my videos every two weeks. A classic song with an interesting bass line played on keyboards. Tricky in that it's not a typical repeating bass line. And yes, I am back to playing a Fender P bass. This one is an American Professional II and it's fantastic. Feels so comfortable and sounds amazing. Thank you for the kind words and support. Thanks so much. This is actually a new Fender American Professional II P Bass. And I love it! I sold The Fly P bass a while ago. I picked this one up at Guitar Center and played it and fell instantly in love with it. And yes, nothing like a P bass. In fact I sold my two Laklands to help pay for this and a Fender Tony Franklin Fretless P bass.

Oh that's great! From 1:17-1:22 is where it really gets tricky. 🙂 I thought I had left a note in the description that the bass doesn't come in until 1:22. I'll have to add that. I hope you liked the rest of it. Thanks for watching.

Merci Erwan. The Waterboys are my favorite group and still making good music and touring. This song and their song "Fisherman's Blues" were their biggest hits. They are very big in Ireland (where they are based) and England and other parts of Europe where they still tour (Spain, Scandinavia), U2 used "The Whole Of The Moon" as their intro music during The Joshua Tree 2017 tour. Thank you for the kind words. I never paid much attention to the bass line in this song before until Niall suggested it. What makes it tricky is that it is constantly changing. Haha, that's what happens when a keyboardist plays bass. 😃 As for events here in the US, I will do my part next Tuesday to protect my country from becoming another Nazi Germany. Décidemment on en revient toujours à U2 ! 😅 Pour ce qui est de cette belle nation qu'est les USA, les français, mais aussi et surtout les européens sont très inquiets du devenir de sa démocratie. L'avenir du monde "libre" dépend en grande "partie" de ce que vous déciderez. La même "vague" traverse l'Europe. C'est très inquiétant. Je suis beaucoup l'actualité politique américaine, et je connais "la sécession" entre ces 2 Amériques. Et ce que j'en vois aujourd'hui me terrifie. En 2016 Trump lui n'aime ne s'attendait pas à gagner et il n'était pas prêt. Les Républicains "modèrés" contrôlaient quelque peu ses outrances. Aujourd'hui et après le triste épisode du "Capitole", il est devenu complètement hors de contrôle. Il suffit juste d'entendre ces discours hallucinants ! Je n'avais pas d'inquiétude sur ton choix... tes origines (lointaines ou pas), ta profession... mon intuition 😉, mais aussi ce qui ressort de toi à travers tes mots (toujours bien choisis !).. etc... Bref, l'enjeu est mondial, et c'est pour cela aussi que j'en parle ! Sans doute à tort (ce n'est pas l'endroit), mais que j'avais envi de partager avec toi ! Bonne journée mon ami et que dieu (où j ne sais qui ...) protège les states !

Do it raw, to really delve into the experience of the song, by doing an isolated track, or isolated tracks. Merci Erwan. I didn't realize they opened for U2. I discovered Muse that way when they opened for U2 here in the US on the 360 Tour. The Killers are a fantastic band. Their first album was a big hit here in the US and this song has now become a classic, still played on the radio. And this bass line is cooler than I would have thought.
