    You really seem to have a way with cuttings...I have access to lots of cuttings but most don't seem to make...You and Nigel both seem to just stick your cuttings into basic potting soil and off they go...Not sure what I',m doing wrong...Really enjoy your videos and narrations...Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing...Sequim, WA...

    How are you fertilizing your collections? Especially your cuttings...Thanks...

    • @BonsaiJCan
      @BonsaiJCan 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Tyler, this past year I've been using tree& shrub " shake & Feed " fertilizer and lasts up to 3 months. I find this much handier than using dry and having to mix with water everytime. The tree's seem to really like it. As for the cuttings, I normally don't start fertilizing till I just start to see some new growth and then lightly fertilize and progresslively give more fertilizer as it grows and establishes more roots.

    J - Great update video...You seem to have a way with cedars...Would you provide some information on how you started the cedar from a cutting...How large, hardwood or tip, root hormone, etc...I've had no luck with my cedars, primarily volunteers but I've tried cuttings with no luck also...Any additional info would be greatly appreciated...Thanks from Sequim, WA...

    • @BonsaiJCan
      @BonsaiJCan 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Tyler, Thanks. I started some with cutting them back at the hardwood, and some I cut on a branch line of cutting on an angle. Not if it made a difference. I just put the cuttings in bonsai soil or my garden and have started some from each. Never used root hormone.

    Thanks for sharing This is exactly what I wanted to see because I chopped my lemon cypress back to very little left on it like this and I’ve been scared that maybe I went too far but seeing this now has made my day and given me confidence that my tree is going to be fine and better than ever now. I am very eager to know how yours is going, are you going to make a updated video on this plant and your other lemon cypresses ?

    • @BonsaiJCan
      @BonsaiJCan 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Joe, I hope the tree grows good for you. You could plant some of the cuttings and start some more trees in case you lose one. I hope to do some videos soon again here.

    • @joegaruccio9708
      @joegaruccio9708 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I really should start cloning from my cuttings and learning how to do it properly and do it that correct way because when I’m pruning and trimming my few bonsai trees I do grab some of the cuttings and stick some back into the soil. I muck around and try different things like some I scratch the bark off some I don’t some I cut angled and some flat some I cut a slither into my free and jam the cutting back in there to see if it will take but never do I have luck and it’s because I’m just not doing any of it properly. I know that’s the case. I’m going to put some time and effort into actually becoming successful at this and learning how to do it properly. I will watch your videos and learn from them and excited to do so. Yes and definitely please do make an updated video on your lemon cypresses for sure. I think you have a fair few people that want to see as much as I do and who love and appreciate your content and as far as lemon cypress specific there is no better videos full stop. There is plenty to read but as far as videos there are very little on actual pruning back and to this degree none. There is people trimming there outdoor planted In ground trees and hedging and topiary but nobody actually cutting branches back and completely going for reshape and restructure and leaving minimal and doing this to a pot plant too there is no other video at all anywhere cos I’ve looked and looked and been across the entire net now and know every video I rekon. Lol and I wouldn’t be the only one to do so and I believe all these other crazy people like me are hanging out to see how they responded and been waiting for you to drop the next vid on these 100% because like I said your the only one that has gone this far and are way out front leading the information race on lemon cypress. Thanks again. Keep up the great work champion !!

    Soaking up knowledge on the cypress trees. I rescued seven Elwoodii the day after Christmas. They looked sad, very dehydrated. We’ll see if they make it. Hopeful, but…not too sure. 🙏 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 🙏 They look more like the “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree”, but with less give.😩 Appreciate your video.

    I’m new to lemon cypress. By watching your videos you never mention how you propagate the cuttings. Is it rooted in water, soil with rooting compound🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ also what is the reason for pruning the trees as hard as you do. Is it to make bushier, or need to be pruned to be put outdoors. Pls explain.

    The 17 Mile drive around the Monterey Peninsula. You get to see Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Spanish Bay, Cypress Point and the Famous Lone Cypress. It is far and away one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world. It almost doesn't look real. Like something out of a dream. I wish I had a bazillion dollars to live in one of those mansions along that drive.
