You know you're a loser when you have to move to the third world in order to feel wealthy, consume a lot of stuff and lord it over others, when you could stay around family and be just fine, bbut have to watch what you spend and consume.

As they say, there are always two sides of a coin. What is the cost of health issues in Thailand and how do you communicate with locals in terms of Thai language?/???

Great video! I'm curiuous what would happen if you decide to sell? If you own the house but lease the land, how would a potential buyer be able to own the land? That is the main factor for my hesitation to buying property in Thailand.

Congratulations! I may have missed it but how did you go from a 30yr land lease to 90yr land lease possibility? you mentioned the land lease is automatically renewed, does that mean the owner has to renew after 30 years or can they technically repurpose the land at that point? thank you!

Absolutely gorgeous. First time watching so forgive me if it is answered elsewhere. How much are utilities (iI believe you call them) - electricity, water, gas, rates (taking out garbage/sewage etc). REALLY enjoyed watching. I've been to Thailand twice in the 90's, but never had chance to see it as I was fighting.... but love the place for what I have see and experienced.

Unless you're Thai, you don't really own the house.

What I did - as a foreign law grad. I always buy the land with a 49/51 split - 49% I hold myself 51% is split to a couple of different Thai who don't know each other 6% is owned by a Thai I (kind of) trust. After that the company rents the property to a family member of myself for 30y with a option of extension. The house I own personally - which is possible as a foreigner. Please let me know if someone found a better way.

Koh Samui is the 2nd largest island in Thailand, Koh Phangan is the 5th largest island! Koh Chang and Koh Tarutao are the 3rd and 4th islands in size! I would of stayed on Kao Tao on the way too, it’s a beautiful island as well 🏝️

Or you could rent and invest the balance of the money you paid for the house 😋

In the Philippines you can own a home, but not the property its on. I dont think I like that.
