Of course Martin not only deserves this Factory Ducati ride which he has earned but Marquez is a 6 time World Champ and brings to the table ALL that entails. Huge Fan base, experience, confidence, engineering feedback loop abilities, potential. The upside far outweighed to down side. The fans are gonna really enjoy watching the rivalry created between Ducati, Aprilla, Martin, Marc & Pecco.

Watching this I realize, this is for rich people the ban on ride heights is just so poor people can have hope to be skilled racers because if only the bike is developed, well whose interested in watching a bunch of prodigy’s from camps race on prototype machines never to be replicated by the general public. I’m sure now they feel the financial hit knowing bikes aren’t selling for 20k -30k for a motorcycle that can be destroyed so easily in everyday use

Stoner should stop to riddle. He left Ducati cause Rossi was available und he was pushed out of Honda cause Marc should get the bike. In 2012 Rookies were not allowed to enter a factory team. Therefore Bradl ended up at LCR. HRC and Ezpeleta used the whole season 2012 to get rid of this rule...Stoner was the last obstacle for Marquez. I hope Peco, Martin and Bastianini never forget the dirty games which brought Marquez to Ducati.

I agree, especially at the race competition level. We have let technology severely overstep its function. MootoGP is now a completely bib and diapers sport, I don't want to simplify and reduce the talent available today, but we are witnessing a dumbing down of skills and responsibility in riding (and driving too). Nowadays incredibly powerful bikes are so tamed down to a point, that even unexperienced riders are purchasing them and letting technology take over the understanding of how they're meant to be operated. I believe racing should keep its more traditional roots, and make riders have to properly and actually pilot these missiles. The removal of the need to properly understand how to command, accelerate, turn, use the clutch, brake and tame these beasts is disappearing in the shadow of traction control, winglets, etc etc. I can see why the general population can benefit from that technology. But the point is already coming where not even that is saving regular joe blow who can't get his head around what gears are, to a point where these high powered 2 wheeled rockets are being taken out of dealerships by the hand of someone who's not learned weight, speed, road safety, etc etc. The unforeseen result is showing too. The professional riders are more exposed to risk because despite bigger speeds and braking power, the body is simply getting taxed that much more. When accidents happen, they're more dangerous. And on the road, ignorants are picking up liter bikes to go to work without an inkling of an idea of how to operate a 200Kg moving piece of mass through a turn. Mick is right. And you can see by the riders. Literally a line up of Men well into their 30s, versus a line up of boys in their early 20s.

Sadly, I doubt we will ever see 2 strokes back in the top class. It is quite humerous that they show the Honda a lot when Honda were at the forefront of killing the smokers. Doohans comments are interesting, but from talking to several top riders, the 800s were perhaps more unpredictable than the 500's - not sure Mick ever swung a leg over the 800. I am glad they are removing the ride height devices, but wish they removed more of the aero. The comment about tyres is also interesting as the big problem is that the manufacturers do not want competition as having a one brand formula does not show up shortcomings between brands.

Electronics is why we won’t see superbike riders coming into GP. The only way to be competitive in GP is to come through GP3 and GP2. Superbikes are too raw to too to make a successful transition to GP in a single season.

Watch old 500 2 stroke races and you will see that most of the grid couldn't really ride them. The leaders would often lap half the field. However if you stuck modern suspension and tyres on a 500 modern gp riders would probably wonder what the fuss was about. Stick 90's tyres on a modern moto gp bike and the electronics wouldn't have a chance, modern bikes would be more dangerous than the 500's were.

The 500's were very unforgiving, if you see the amount of times riders were flicked off in a split second and how those bikes were wheeling and leaving black lines on the track at the same time..... Make no mistake modern GP bikes are extremely fast, but what skills do you really need to ride them compared to the 500's.?. The 500's were raw beasts, the riders back then had the most skill and courage. Miss that Era, the best era in motorcycle racing.

No one would argue that cultural conditions, market forces & improved technology have helped certain individuals to excel & be celebrated - but without doubt there’s always been exceptional, brave & talented individuals using unmatched abilities to push the boundaries in the field throughout history. Was Pedrosa better than Márquez? They competed together a few years ago with the SAME equipment & the results show Marc was quicker. In ‘07 Stoner showed his ability no question, but that Ducati was WAY faster Rossi’s Yamaha, or any other bike for that matter & who won the championship that year? Mr Stoner has already proved his own point 17yrs ago. Talent was everywhere but technology assured the trophy.

Ducati should just have called Marquez's bluff, he might think he's too important to go to Pramac, but if the factory Ducati seat was not available, where else would he go.? Having ridden the Ducati and being in a hurry to try and win another championship, what option would be better than a 2025 Ducati at Pramac?. The 2023 Ducati Marquez is already on is still consistently better than any of the rival bikes. I can see the reasons Ducati went with Marquez, but their treatment of Martin is reprehensible, I'm fairly neutral in my support in MotoGP, but will be cheering for anyone who can beat a Ducati next season.

Offer #93 the 2025 spec bike under his current team or Prima...and if that's not good enough let HIM go to Aprilia! Same for Martin. Leave Bagnaia and Bastianinni where they were.
