    Getting rid of old, black mildew stains in PVC has been an impossible battle for me no matter what product I use. It is clear your product works - as you say on "dirt" but what about old mildew stains? Would love to see it at work on that.

    Just done one of the seat straps on my old dinghy. Exactly as you showed, but 2 x coatings of glue as per tin instructions. Used a GRP roller to compact and exclude any bubbles, then placed a brick on patch to help adhesion.. Thank you very much.

    Down here in Jersey, we find that old bait (worms, squid and razor fish) frozen into sawdust and tied to the end of the anchor chain are very good for bream, for conger we use any old fish that can't be returned and again squid from the previous day, i think that you are taking a risk going out in such a small boat and hope that you have suitable safety equipment. good luck!

    You must have had those products a while. Ben the owner of ribright was one of my best friends and sadly passed away in Feb 2020 just before first lock down Having built and repaired boats and ribs for near 20years I feel I should give you some pointers for future reference. You where using too much adhesive, You should have got the old glue off You should have done one coat then left it atleast an hour. When applying the patch fit the middle first let the air out the tube and roll it middle outwards, then use a hair dryer to warm it, put a board behind it and using a roller or screwdriver handle role it again,

    Hey :) I am considering buying a rib 5 meters long. We plan to keep it in the water for the whole year. My questions are : 1. which materials would you recommend regarding the hull and the tubes? 2. how often should it be maintained, and what that maintenance includes? 3. How long do they last, should I sell them every two years or something like that?

    • @fantasticfishingshow8185
      @fantasticfishingshow8185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I recommend a fibre glass hull with hypalon tubes. Remove the boat from the water every year to clean and antifoul.

    • @fantasticfishingshow8185
      @fantasticfishingshow8185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If looked after you should get more than 10 years life.

    • @igorperic5232
      @igorperic5232 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fantasticfishingshow8185 Firstly thank you for fast response. So you don't recommend aluminium hull? Cleaning and antifouling ONCE per year if I understand correctly and then put it back in the water and slightly deflate it because of the sun?

    • @fantasticfishingshow8185
      @fantasticfishingshow8185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@igorperic5232 when you have an aluminum floor the actual hull is going to be made of the same material as the tubes. I'm not saying the aluminum deck sibs are bad but i would say the fiberglass hull ribs are more durable and stable. Yes deflate a little in summer and cover the boat if possible, sunlight will shorten the life of any inflatat boat no mater what material is used.

  • @kevinjones319
    @kevinjones319 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you need to slightly deflate the boat to get the patches to sit flush? I have the same “off-market” patches you have and it seems like, if applied to a fully inflated tube, it would have air bubbles

    • @fantasticfishingshow8185
      @fantasticfishingshow8185 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi yes I deflate a little. It's a trade off you need enough air to keep the shape. These large patches are quite difficult to do.
