The top players are just speaking another language underneath the surface English that we all speak while playing this game. You have to have studied Melee to even understand what he is explaining to you, let alone know how to execute it, let alone actually be able to execute it, let alone execute it in tourney, let alone against another top 10 player. He’s right. He’s just better.

I got to say, i really do hate those "character ranking" things players will make. They make 0 sense, because, what one person finds good, another will find terrible. Lets look at Bowser. When asked who the worst character is, he is usually mentioned. Look up the story of "the worlds best Bowser in melee" and see a man who took this as a challenge, and could hang with some of the greats. Even able to hang with some of the gods, using a bowser. Its about what you are good with. Same with Mewtwo, Jason M2k can do amazing things with Mewtwo, now, Jason can also do amazing things with any character. He took a character that is considered a joke, in Pichu, and used it to great success. Armada uses young link as a counter to some characters. They are not used to playing against them, and people dont know how to handle them in a match. Do they have there faults? Sure, yet we have seen time and time again, people argue fox vs falco, only to have skill come out on top. Also, on another topic, fuck leffen :).

Also for people who don’t know, Sdi (smash directional influence) is done by repeatedly wiggling the stick in the direction you want to go, this only works during hit stun and takes insane reaction speeds and hand eye coordination to do optimally.

he's so right. to do as much as Hbox does at all times between Ult and Melee, it's a miracle that he's still so good at what he does in Melee that he keeps top 8 so much. If Hungrybox stopped doing content at the level that he does for one month (which would be career suicide and one of the dumbest things a human being could do), he could start making #1 again consistently, even in the face of all the incredible talent of the new generation. But it would require that and it would not be worth it.

I love this oldmanishness, as I am of that era, but today is indeed worse with doxxing, photo harassment, if theyre even tiny bit tech savvy, easy access to tools/root kits. You could cook someone back then, but you can straight ruin someones life with deepfakes of PDFile stuff involving them. If this dude is just taking the piss, it's funny, but people should be aware.
