I live in Malmö, Sweden. I’ve played the diatonic button accordion since early 2020. I’m self-taught and I only play by ear.
The Battle of Aughrim (accordion & bouzouki)
Today I’m playing an Irish march together with my dear friend, the amazing Gabriel Hermansson on the Irish bouzouki.
The title of this tune refers to a fierce battle that took place in County Galway in the summer of 1691. More than 7.000 people were killed in the battle, making it the bloodiest ever on Irish soil.
Played on a Weltmeister Weiner 511 in C#/D.
Peace ✌🏻

No Idea Whatsoever, composed by Owen Woods. I’ve had some trouble adjusting to this kind of rhythm, which is completely new to me. I’m not even sure what this type of tune is called.. is it a jig? If anyone knows, please comment :) Listen to Owen’s version here: th-cam.com/video/EJc1KpUCYTI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zArl-IYs1YVrbGH3 Played on a 3-voice Hohner Corso in A/D. Peace ✌🏻

Here’s a slightly improvised late night version of a part of the Irish tune Tralee Gaol. Inspired by the amazing concertina player Cormac Begley. Check him out in the link below, it can’t be described as anything other than mind blowing: th-cam.com/video/A_COfqYgK2U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9aRLfavGRg5AqEaq Played on a Dino Baffetti Art 86 W in D/G. Ever since I saw a video of the amazing Lisa Jarvest playing this tune, I have been wanting to record it as well. It has taken me ages to learn to play it in a nice rhythm. A classic Swedish folk tune. Sorry for the horrible video quality… must be the worst one so far. I’ll probably redo it some time soon. Played on a Dino Baffetti Art 86w in D/G. Peace ✌🏻

This is an Irish waltz that I heard on Bobby Gardiner’s 2018 album ”Melodeon Mad!”. He follows it up with a truly mad version of The Wind that Shakes the Barley reel. It’s amazing, have a listen: th-cam.com/video/RsFPhSYzCEo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_ijToG525FxZXxb7 Played on a Weltmeister Wiener 511 in C#/D. Peace ✌🏻

An Irish tune called Parnell’s March Jig. A while ago I uploaded a version of this tune, audio only (link below), played on a Hohner Pokerwork in C#/D. I have since then got a few requests to upload an actual video of me playing it. So here it is! This time I’m playing it on a 3-voice Weltmeister box in C#/D. You’re hearing the amazzzing Björn Torstensson on guitar. Hohner Pokerwork version: th...

A good old Swedish ”march” (?). I recorded this tune a while back on the G/C box, but the audio quality wasn’t the best. Had to do it again on the C/F. More C/F to the people! G/C version: th-cam.com/video/i1qzSYYUCRM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=egCfT9Y93E70v5T1 Played on a Hohner Pre-Pokerwork in C/F. Peace ✌🏻

Awesome
I know you probably have a bunch of tunes in the pipeline, but I would love to see what you can do with Blair Douglas's Kate Martin's waltz on the diatonic. Thanks a bunch!
Absolutely love this. Thank you!
your a really good player , those bass notes sound beautiful.
jæklig fin den der altså :)
I have come back to this video about a dozen times [this tune really grows on you], and I cant help feeling that this tune was written with a Morris dance in mind, or perhaps as an alternative tune for a Playford dance. Brought up with English trad music I feel quite at home with this rhythm.... which I certainly cannot say for the multiple meters in many Scandi tunes, which usually leave me tearing my hair out in frustration ;<) Personally I would end tune this by stretching the last note of the tune, rather than playing a resolving chord
@@bigoldgrizzly haha I was planning on doing just that but I messed it up in the end. I agree, it is an amazing tune
Gracias, suena muy bien. Una musica preciosa!!

This is the BEST rendition of this I have ever heard and watching you play with your fingers dancing over the keys and you arm using the bellows is perfect!

Wow, great tune! And the two of you make it ever better!
Thank you so much!
Lovely play ...
Thank you! :D
That was most enjoyable fellas - thank you. A shrewd decision not to 'clutter the tune up by adding bass on the box - the bouzouki complements your playing perfectly :<)
@@bigoldgrizzly Thank you 🙏🏻 Actually I couldn’t add the bass even if I tried 😅 Haven’t gotten used to this C#/D-system fully yet. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Edvinaronson lol ..... sometimes less is more ;<)

Det är ett gammalt Hohner-spel. Troligtvis en äldre förlaga till Hohner Erica, men jag är inte säker på vad modellen kallas.

I love listening to you playing. It is beautiful.
This tune is called Tralee Gaol it is NOT O Neill's march. The two tunes are often played together..
@@patrickwalsh3949 Thanks for clarifying!
Thank you i Love IT 🌸
Beautifull ! Thank you !
@@PafLeRenard Any time!
Thanks for another awesome video. This sounds like a good song to do variations on the basic melody, which is repeated over and over. Could be fun to see how many variations can be invented.
Nice playing Edvin. I cannot help out with identifying the style. Sounds like a jig/march to me. I like it. it looks like you’ve added an AD Corso to the assembly.Fine sound. I like the strap variation. Thank you friend and neighbor. It’s always a treasure and a pleasure.
@@hamsterhead44 Thank you! I’ve actually had this box for a couple of years now, I’ve recorded a few videos with it before. Not that often though, but it sure has a nice tone 🙏🏻
I come back every so often to listen to this again and again ... lovely play !
Thank you!
Wow, nice one!!! ☺️👍
Great tune. In Scotland it goes with a song called ‘The Haugh’s o’ Cromdale’
Edvin on fire... great man!
This tune shows you don’t need a lot of notes to have a great result. I love the way the B part finishes. Can’t stop humming it. Thank you Edvin. 😌
I may have simplified a bit too much, I learned this tune the same day as I recorded this video so I wasn’t too familiar with it 😃 Glad you liked it anyway! Thanks 🙏🏻
I realised when I listened to to the tune again after going round singing it to myself that I had added a few notes in the last phrases.. I think it’s a catchy tune whatever and love hearing the tunes you play. l am not good at reading music so it’s like having a tune book😌
thanks a lot!
Amazing! I will definitely try playing some of these tunes later!
You are making my fingers itchy Edvin ;<) I can't play at the moment [Anglo Concertina] Old is catching up with me and I 'm waiting for two operations to repair my right hand. Nicely played my friend.

Absolutely spectacular playing, brother! Your music always seems to be both relaxing and energizing, all at once, somehow. 👏👏👏👍👍
A haunting piece and played with feeling. It puts me in mind of an Irish piece called Captain O'Kane by O'Carolan .... just evokes the same feelings in me
