I live in Malmö, Sweden, and I’ve played the diatonic button accordion since early 2020.
Äppelbo Gånglåt (C/F)
A good old Swedish ”march” (?).
I recorded this tune a while back on the G/C box, but the audio quality wasn’t the best. Had to do it again on the C/F. More C/F to the people!
G/C version: th-cam.com/video/i1qzSYYUCRM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=egCfT9Y93E70v5T1
Played on a Hohner Pre-Pokerwork in C/F.
Peace ✌🏻

FOR SALE: Hohner Pokerwork (C#/D)

I’m selling this Hohner Vienna 2915 (Pokerwork) in C#/D, which is perfect for Irish music. I bought the reed blocks last year so they are basically brand new. The box itself is older and has a few marks here and there. The bellows are tight but a bit torn on the lower side. A red shoulder strap is included. 490€ / 5.500 SEK shipping cost Send me an email if interested, and I can send photos: Ed...

Låt Till Far (B/C)
Låt Till Far or Skänklåt Från Rättvik A good old Swedish march, composed by Pers Erik Olsson, with a good old organ track to go with it. Played on a Hohner Double-Ray in B/C. Peace ✌🏻
Vals efter Ljuder Anders och Hållbus Totte (G/C)
A Swedish trad waltz, called Vals efter Ljuder Anders och Hållbus Totte. I heard this tune on one of Mats Edén’s (Swedish fiddle and melodeon player) records tonight and wanted to have a go right away. I’m also using new mics for this particular video. Played on a 3-voice Hohner Corso in G/C. Peace ✌🏻
Jimmy Duffy’s Hornpipes 1 & 2 (G/C)
A little set of two Irish barndances called Jimmy Duffy’s 1 & 2. Originally played in G, here in C. This is what it sounds like after having been sick for over a bloody week 😅 Haven’t played these tunes that much either, so it’s still a bit of work to do to get the right flow to it. Anyway, I wanted to make a video and there it is! (The audio is also shitty as hell). Played on a 3-voice Hohner ...
Princess Royal (C/F)

A slightly chaotic take on Princess Royal. Played on a Hohner pre-Pokerwork (?) melodeon in C/F. Peace ✌🏻
Not For Joe (G)

Just bought this Hohner HA113 in G and wanted to try it out. I’m not used to play one row boxes, so it’s a struggle to say the least 😅 I was inspired to record this tune after I saw John Spiers play it in a video. Peace ✌🏻
Cheshire Waltz (C/F)

Cheshire Waltz. Played on a Hohner melodeon in C/F. Peace ✌🏻
An Súisín Bán/The Galtee Hunt w/ Lottie Svensson (G/C)

A set of two Irish hornpipes; An Súisín Bán & The Galtee Hunt. Inspired by Jack Talty’s and Cormac Begley’s recording on their album Na Fir Bolg (2011). Lottie Svensson on the fiddle 🎻 Played on a 3-voice (LMH) Hohner Corso in G/C. Peace ✌🏻
An Súisín Bán Hornpipe (G/C)
The Irish hornpipe, An Súisín Bán. The mic picked up some of my breathing, but you’ll have to live with that I guess. 🗣️💨 Played by Edvin Aronson on a Hohner Corso (16 8) in G/C. Peace ✌🏻
Joe Bane’s/Gypsy Princess (D/G)
Joe Bane’s/Gypsy Princess. I first heard this set being played on the concertina by Cormac Begley and Jack Talty on their album ”Na Fir Bolg” a couple of years ago, and it has become one of my favourites. I highly recommend it! Played on a Dino Baffetti Art 86 Wood melodeon in D/G. The guitar track was recorded by Kristian Lindberg. Peace ✌🏻
Flatwater Fran (G/C)
Flatwater Fran, a waltz in C major. Originally played in G. Composed by Phil Cunningham. Played on a Polverini Binci melodeon in G/C. Peace ✌🏻
Yay
Great playing. Is the Corso the usual MMM tuning or LMM? It sounds gorgeously low. The G row must be well honky :) Right, I'm off to learn these two tunes.
Another great tune to learn. 😊 Thank you !
Bor du i hus? Mina grannar hade mördat mig :) bra spelat!
@@Mizgog-co7cb Bor i lägenhet!
What a great tune. So lively. Just want to dance. I’ve started learning it on cello🌷
@@marjorie8648 interesting! I’d love to hear it :)
It so nice!
@@sergefromby Thank you!
Good man. Love all your videos.
Well done! 👍
Vad säger grannarna? 😊
Love it! Never thought one could play this tune on a diatonic accordion. But maybe it’s just the melody that’s possible and not the chords…?
Grooooovy! Love this hit of a tune! You’re harmonising it really nice also.
I love both videos. Actually, the first Äppelbo Gånglåt version was the first song i heard from you and then i followed you. Cheers!
@@Windwalker93 Glad you liked it! It deserved to be recorded with decent audio though 😄 Cheers!
Wow, such a lovely sound from your Accordion. The music you played here today is beautiful. I am so glad to see young people enjoying this instrument and you play Beautifully. What a Brilliant Job you have done here. I say Edvin Have a wonderful weekend. I am looking forward to your next upload. I love the accordion so much and have played 2 on my channel more to come. I back it up with the Genos2. keyboard. I really enjoyed this. You are just amazing Edvin. Greetings from Canada! Patrick your FAN And FRiend.🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍁🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🌿🌿🌿🌿🥬🥬🥬🥬🍃🍃🍃🍃

@@Edvinaronson yes it was so well done. thank you. EDVIN I LOVE THE ACCORDION ESPECIALLY THE DIATONIC.
It's so soft, especially in that honer ! Nicely done !
@@ClemDiato Thank you so much 🙏🏻 Checking out your videos too, really nice playing :)
@@Edvinaronson Thanks buddy :)
More C/F to the people! 😂 Grand to awaken to an old swedish march. Thank you Edvin! Peace.
Sounds great 👍🏻
This is a waltz that wants to be a mazurka - lovely tune and nicely played :<) I pair this one with Sally Sloane's mazurka for a dance set
@@bigoldgrizzly Thank you! I honestly don’t know the difference between mazurkas and waltzes 😅
@@Edvinaronson The main difference is that the waltz has the emphasis on the first beat of the bar, whereas a mazurka the emphasis is on the second beat. I know it when I hear it or play it but, despite over 50 years trying, I remain 'musically dyslexic', so that is about the best way I can describe it. Doesn't work well on all waltzes, but have a mess around with the beat and see what you come up with :<)
@@bigoldgrizzly Appreciate the advice 😃 Thanks again!
Well done. I enjoy your channel you are an excellent musician. Keep them coming, and 🪗🪗🪗have a great weekend. Let's keep in touch I have subscribed to your channel
I could listen to this one several times a day and it makes me smile every time. 😊 Thanks Edvin
Verry good Sound. Which reeds you have inside? I have the same instrument with Hohner Reedblocks in D/G
@@ideossteff6646 Thank you! These are standard Hohner reedblocks as far as I know. I’ve got a D/G Pokerwork too. Actually prefer this raw sound than the more expensive ones 😊
@@Edvinaronson Had the feeling that the sound is a bit different from the Hohner reeds and as I know the 2915 was not availabel in Irish tune. Therefore my question for the reeds. I like the raw sound too. At the moment I play 3 instruments. The Pokerwork, a Mengascini D212 in D/G and a Club 1 from the 40th in C/F. The Hohner Club 1 I like most....
@@ideossteff6646When I got this box it was in C/F so I just ordered C#/D reed blocks from Hohner :)
@@Edvinaronson Cool, so these are propably the same as in my D/G. The sound is pretty well!
Thank you for sharing such great tunes.
Well played, Edvin. Great tune, and my favourite version so far! Funnily enough, I learned this tune about ten yaars ago, and I was told then that it was called La Nouvelle Hollandaise.
riktigt bra!
Tack! 🙏🏻
Really nice edvin. Speaks to the heart. Thanks.
Beautiful piece
Lovely! You have a great touch Edvin, the music pours out of you and into us and I can feel it in my heart and soul. Thanks!
That was so beautiful I could cry.
Great !!!! Bravo
This was an interesting one. I picked up my G/C one to try it on that and I think it is playable on that as well, is there a particular reason why you choose the B/C and not your G/C? If you want an additional source of inspiration I can recommend Ingunn Bjørgo
@@TheRegretzOP Thanks! 🙏🏻 I no longer own a G/C box with accidentals, so this was my only option to play it in the original key. I’ll look that up, thanks 😄
@@Edvinaronson I see, that makes a lot of sense! She is posting on youtube so you will find a lot here. Well played by the way!
That was a great tune, well played, lots of Dark and Light just like a Guinness.
Thank you for being such a great ambassador for the diatonic accordion. You bring out the best out of the instrument, whatever the tonality! Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏻
Thanks for another great tune. It helps whenever you put what key the box you're playing on is in.
It’s all in the video description as usual :) Thank you
I do like it. :)
@@louischarbonneau428 🙏🏻
You've got a heck of a lot of songs under your belt now. Do you ever just noodle around? What's that sound like? I'd be interested to hear
I’ve got plenty more coming up 😄 If I compose my own tunes, you mean? Sometimes when I get a feeling for it I can sit down and maybe produce something like an A-part, a nice melody that just comes from nowhere. But I guess I’m too lazy to actually complete it 😅 Maybe in the future
Beautiful ❤
Thank you 🙏🏻

Tack 🙏🏻
I enjoyed that too Edvin. Thanks for the post and for sharing your amazing skills. Brilliantly done. I love the bass on this little accordion. It sounded lovely. Like 186. Accordions are great you can take them almost anywhere and play away the afternoon or evening. Your Fan and Canadian Friend Patrick.
Another nice accordion tune that you played very well. Although I have not heard this song before I enjoyed it a lot that's because I have loved the sound of the accordion since I was a child. Well done BRAVO! I am self-taught. I loved the guitar back up and I noticed you didn't use the bass side with this little Squeeze box. Anyway, still a lot of good action and beautiful tones. Sounds very Irish.
Just beautiful ❤
Fabulous version! Well done. 👏👏
Bravo!!!!!!!
Well played
Hi Edvin. Love listening to your music. Any idea where I would get the notes for this tune for the fiddle, I've it nearly off but just to be sure😅
Hello! Thank you :) I’m sure you’ll find something on Google if you search for ”Guinness Waltz + notes/sheetmusic” or something like that. I just play by ear so I never use sheetmusic
@@Edvinaronson Thank you ❤️ I will work it out. 🙏
Luv it !!
Super comme d'habitude !...
Thank you 🙏🏻 ⭐️
This is a really beautiful melody. It's the first time I've heard it, but there's something familiar, something comforting, almost timeless about it. I'm a chromatic player, but I'd love to make this my next project piece. Effortlessly played, plenty of feeling - Thank You.
Thank you 🙏🏻 I bet it will sound beautiful on chromatic too 😄 Glad you liked it!
Hi Edvin. Gorgeous playing, as always. Masterful. What's the key on this one?
Hello! Thank you so much :) It’s a C/F box and I play in F major. I think it’s originally played in G major
