The wide angle lens has more distortion than the normal angle lens. In testing, it had small effects on the angles, but a larger effect on the distance measurements. While the errors are acceptable, the normal angle lens is more accurate. So if you have room, then you should probably use the normal angle lens. If you are space constrained, then use the wide angle lens. Another consideration is when using the wide angle lens for a front profile recording, you have to be very careful to ensure that the knees and toes are visible throughout the pedal stroke. This is especially a problem with mountain bikes as the tire and shocks can block the feet entirely when the camera is close to the front of the bike. The AI algorithm tries to guess the position of the foot, but being able to visually track it the accuracy is drastically impacted.

@@bikefastfit Is it possible to use an Ipad and Iphone at te same time. Will the video's sync on both devices? or do you need to send them to each other?

Yes, you can load the software on all of your devices (that share the same Apple ID) and the app uses iCloud to automatically sync the video and data across all the devices.

Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying the new version. If you can stick to the standard lens you will get the best accuracy. There are some distortions with the wide angle lens, but acceptable if that is your only option.

It doesn't give specific recommendations as so much of the upper body positioning is based on your goals, flexibility, etc. It does give you clear indications where you are at from a positioning standpoint and lets you virtually move your hand position and see the impacts before changing stems.

This video is actually for the entry level product, BFF EZ which is currently a $4.99 / yr subscription, but I am going to change to a one time fee. The more BFF Elite product is the full featured app that includes more measurements and views. It is a one-time $19.99 fee.

Thanks. The app is using 1080p at the highest speed possible, usually 240fps. The higher frame rate is actually more important than the higher resolution to capture the moment of maximum knee extension. The AI models have been trained on plenty of very badly lit videos, but good lighting does help to ensure the best accuracy. Especially if the rider is wearing dark clothes against a dark background.

Thanks! The new version 2 of BFF Elite uses markerless tracking similar to the technology in BFF EZ. Adding markers does not help with precision, but ensuring adequate lighting and contrast with the background helps greatly. The alignment doesn't have to be too precise, the critical thing is to ensure you are positioning the camera at the right height with as little rotation to minimize positional errors.

Hi Steven, yes, the video is still there, just go to the Fitting menu in the upper left corner and select the video to analyze.

The axle to axle length is the distance between the axle of the front wheel and the axle of the back wheel. The distance is used to calibrate the video and calculate distances. If you are something like a smart bike that doesn't have axles, choose two points that are easily identifiable and measure that. Then go into the calibration page in the video information and manually select those points.

There isn't the ability to set measurements for your bike. The calibration is done using the length of the crank and assumes the crank is 172.5mm.

No Android version is a disappointment. Looks like an amazing app. Why not have a version people could just use with a laptop online? Upload a video and go from there.

Yes, the accuracy of the measurements depend on finding the right spots for the stickers, but with a little care it isn't too hard.

If you want a full featured bike fitting app, then go with BFF Elite. It has a complete set of tools for looking at all of the angles. The downside is a little more complex set up as you will need to place dots on your body for the app to track it accurately. BFF EZ is currently focused solely on the saddle height (but more to come later this year).

To balance analysis time and storage space while providing enough pedal strokes, BFF Elite limits videos to 3.5 seconds. At 240 fps that is over 800 frames to analyze and should give 3-4 complete revolutions of the pedal stroke.

Currently it only gives guidance on getting the saddle height correct. There isn't good research on the best fore/aft location, so still investigating the best approach.

No, BFF EZ is based on our next generation tracking technology and does not require stickers to be placed on the body.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. The dot placement for the front is less important the side views. Basically from the front you are just doing knee tracking to ensure the knees are traveling roughly vertical. So a dot anywhere on the front of the knee suffices. Just need to make sure it isn't obscured by the handlebars at the top of the pedal stroke.

It happened to me too, I purchased the app but I haven't been able to select all the "contact points" of my body to show them in the video to correct myself, were you able to do it or do we need to also buy the "Elite" version of the app to get these features?

@@XtrastorTech I too had the same issues, I contacted the developer .. he told me that I had downloaded the lite version and that there was a new version that had to be installed, he sent me an upgrade code to unlock all the settings. But I noticed recently that it’s back to the lite version. I’ve given up

I figured out the problem. They have made two apps with almost identical names and both of them have upgrade pro options; however, to access the features described in this video, you need to purchase the "Bike Fast Fit Elite" that costs about USD$10.00. You don't need to upgrade to the pro version after paying this. This is even more confusing since the TH-cam channel is also Bike Fit Fast which is the name of the WRONG app discussed in the video.
