Noveria CG timelapse making of
I finally got some free time to work on a little personal project. I recently played Mass Effect for the first time and got inspired to do a little cg environment animation that could be set in the same world.
Done over a few days I loosely redesigned based on my own ideas and an old concept art from the art book.
I thought it would be nice to record the process in this timelapse. Work was done in 3dsmax with Vray, terrain generation as usual in Gaea. Fun fact I already considered the image done and then realized that I forgot to add snow to the station... Sometimes you need to fix things that are bothering you, so I went back in and used tyflow to add it.

Invasion CG environment breakdown
มุมมอง 2.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Little breakdown of a personal cg environment. I always wanted to create an image that has a bright sky with no detail. CG Iceland landscape - Gaea Test
มุมมอง 11K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a quick 3d environment test trying out QuadSpinner Gaea for the first time. Obviously, an Icelandic inspired landscape. This is using the same terrain mesh copied and rotated three times in different ways, built at 4k resolution. Rendered all together with 3d atmosphere and clouds in Vray Next.
Red Planet - Houdini Environment Test

    • @falkboje
      @falkboje ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I only used one texture, but I duplicated it to have a copy that is rotated by 45 degree in uv space. Then I used a noise to blend the two instances of the same texture. This should remove repetition very well. Thanks

    This is Wow awesome ! Its not everyday one gets to see the complete process of such project as this. Can you please share how you decided where to break up the large structures or your use of greebles coz i know from experience, going about it randomly doesn't always give a great result.

    • @falkboje
      @falkboje ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I model all big shapes myself as I usually have a specific design in mind. I then often add another level of complexity on top. This level can be greeble library pieces, but often enough I do something from scratch. The last level of detail I add is usually just random greebles that fit the object and scene. I hope this helps. Thanks!
