Getting lost at pretty much the same place I'm at was cathartic. For me, I just didn't know you had to shoot the sarcophagus. What a miserable level. Thank you.

My favorite weapon is still the og magnum pistol, the burst fire and the grenade alt fire are really fun for me, but I don't blame you since that carbine is indeed a headshot monster with most enemies in game.

Complaining about lewd stuff. Complaining about a major plot point in the game. Is totaly ok with the most bloody violence possible. Your US citizenship is showing.

I'm here to defend incest. Not only is it the main turning point for the game's story which it constantly revolves around, but also probably the main reason why the game was created in the first place, next to Doekuramori's fascination with guns. On his twitter he's constantly commenting on mechanics of operating weapons and the taboo desires of his OC. The story of refusing fate and denying salvation to pursue what's sinful and forbidden and the reversion of values does not make sense if you forget this part exists. And those two are his actual fetishes, deep passions, as opposed to what he was accused of which makes the whole situation so farcical.

Weapon Degradation is also in the first game. It's a nice balancing factor so you don't overuse one weapon.

People thinking this is a fetish, or sexual in any way is just so telling of themselves XD And even if it was, I don't really care f someone gets turned on by cute anime girls getting chopped upp or something, I just don't waant to see it myself. Also, like... don't do it IRL? If that wasn'T obvious.

The level design from an outside perspective seems a bit all over the place, especially lighting. Overall, from what you said, it sounds like a lot of ideas but not a lot of direction. Really good review!

For me it sames all the basics are in the right place but it needed more lines connecting the gameplay loop together among other things. Still kickass for 5$ though

Thanks so much for your kind words about the soundtrack! While I didn’t compose the awesome metal tracks that accompany the boss fights, I did do the atmospheric soundscapes. It was the first time I’d attempted this kind of soundtrack and I’m super proud of the response. So glad you enjoyed the game! The DOSMan team are a talented and hard working bunch, and they really put their all into this - most of all Emil, who really put his blood, sweat and tears into making this such a unique experience.

This brings back so many memories! As a huge Star Wars fan the story, cut scenes and enemies made this and the sequels favorites when I was a little kid. Great review and great perspective from a non Star Wars fan.

The game's name is funny, because you have a name, Vlad, with a diminutive suffix -ik- so it sounds like a nickname of an 11 year old. VLADIK BRUTAL. And then the funny part is that the game is cool despite the name and overly brutal. So of couse writing would be a bit cringe, that's partially by design. This is probably a game 11 year old would want to make, hence the name. But that's a theory.

This is the hardest fucking level in the entire game. Dodging hitscan shock attacks from the shamblers is hard enough, but doing so while being hounded by mutant hounds? Psychotic.

Turok 2 is interesting game to me. Since 1998 and before the remaster I held the opinion that there was a fantastic game hidden behind the limitations of the N64 and it's rushed development. The N64 version suffered from low fov, crippling fps, and sluggish movement. Navigation and backtracking was a nightmare because you couldn't use the safe stations to warp between other safe stations, Adon could only restore your ammo and health once per level, the Nuke had no effect on the Primagen rendering it pretty useless by the time you get it, and the distance fog was way closer. The remaster was a Godsend because it fixed all of those issues and even introduced a number of enchantments as well as adjustments (such as certain parts of some levels being made less labyrinthian and more open). It truly made Turok 2 that amazing game I knew it had the potential of being, and I can finally have no conflicting feelings towards it. It truly is the best one out of the trilogy, and easily one of the best boomer shooters ever. If they ever make a Turok 4, they should use T2 as a basis and improve from there. With a little bit more of T1 in terms of it's themes.

Is this RTX remake?

The easiest way I always go through this fight, considering it's the end of the game and I always end up with a lot of power-ups brought with, is to active invulnerability and quad damage and then the Makron can be killed with 4 direct BFG hits.

Ok. Today I learned that Q2 has single player mode... Never noticed about it during thousands of multiplayer hours.

Perhaps Turok Evolution should be remastered someday.
