She looks absolutely amazing brother 💯💪🔥🔥🔥
Finally my dream bike is completely done!!! Great Job brother!!! 💯💪🙏
So happy and excited man!!! Getting closer and closer brother!!! 💯💪
So excited about it coming together brother!!! 💯💪
Great Job brother!
a board was prob not the best to show flatness?
Definitely not. It was 4 years ago and was the best option I had at the time. Nonetheless it solved my problem, hopefully it saves at least one individual from the time and headaches I went through to discover this.
What is the torch spes please my bike is a 2005 Yz 250 f
Do you know if that washer is crucial behind the water pump wheel? On my 02 it didn’t have one when removing everything and was wondering if I should get the exact washer or if any washer that fits the thread would work. Thanks!
If I were in your shoes I would opt for the OEM washer. A generic one might be an exact match and may never cause an issue but the simplicity and of ordering the exact one would be my choice. Peace of mind at the end of the day
Hey man I took out that cam chain tensioner to fit in carb and heard somthing than put it back in and bike doesn’t start help?
my bike goes into neutral after third gear.. im trying to figure it out..
My 2019 yz 250 is doing that to and really hard to shift
What year is this YZ?
is that a stock sub frame or is it from a newer model to fit the restyle
Stock 2002 subframe
What paint did you use on the cases? I really like the look!! Thanks for the vids Alex. They have helped me a lot.
What’s the year of this yz 125?
2002
@@RecreationWerx thank you
Thank you. Happy riding✌
Also, did you coat the steel parts in any kind of light oil during re-assembly? Thx
Yup use some mixing oil or transmission oil as assembly oil. I use both depending on the part
What is cerakote and how long did you bake the cases and at what temp? Thanks for the excellent video😀
Cerakote is a coating company that specializes in durable thin coating that have high chemical and heat tolerance. You can check out their website! I pre heat the cases in the oven for 1 hour then apply coating. Then bake again for a full hour.
May i ask why u didn't upgrade the basket and or replace it. Because i see the wear points on the basket? I'm curious
The wear isn’t to the point that it will effect the performance, but it is on the list for future replacement
Hi did you check ring gap at all or is it usually fine?
Always check ring end gap no mater what engine
Can anyone help me
bro is pro x a good piston choice i found one on amazon with all the things needed for 74 dollars?
Pro-x is great, OEM quality for a great price. Nothing but good experience on my end using prox
Thanks dude, looks pretty simple. Did you reuse the old piston and just get newrings?
No worries! That’s exactly what I did.
Weird question but what brand torque wrench do you use for this kind of work.
I use a 1/4 drive snap-on QJR117E old as the hills
YO MY BIKE LOOKS JUST LIKE THAT
I see you hit the bearing in with the socket on the inner race? Is that a bad thing to do? I did that today and am worried it wrecked the bearing.
As long as you are careful and use the right size socket you can feel the difference in the taps once the bearing is seated. I prefer to use a light weight brass hammer or a plastic hammer.
Never and i repeat never hit the inner race to install a bearing. The correct way would to find something the same size as the outer race thats where u apply pressure hits etc.
Does the head had to be removed to replace the inner clutch cover case that has the oil fill plug on it
No, its not required to remover the cyl head to replace the inner clutch cover. Happy wrenching!
the cylindrical bearings at 2:57 you installed, were the stamped letters on the race facing up towards you or down into the case?
Stamped letters are facing up towards me
@@RecreationWerx thanks for the response. i forgot to take a picture and the service manual doesnt give you that info. cool and both get installed letters facing up correct?
@@dr00andrew correct, happy wrenching and happy riding!
Common sense
@@jtglenn3 no need to be an asshole
What brand of gas tank is that I’m lookin to by one for my yz
Brilliant video really enjoyed it
I think that you just saved the day! Nice video keep riding!
That was it! I can see the wear in back of the case! 200% TRUE and already ordered a new one!
Putting together a 02' YZ125. With gear shafts, forks, and cam installed, I test fitted the other case half to test gears. It keeps getting locked on the dogs. Though the gear cycle. Do the gears on shafts 1&2 need to be timed or something. Wanna make sure before I install crank.
Make sure you have everything lubricated and you spin the shafts while going through the gears
I have a similar problem. Did a full top and bottom rebuild recently, bike shift through ALL gears when the bike is off, but when the bike is on, I do not have 3rd gear. I have 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th, but 3rd gear is a false neutral every single time when the bike is running, any ideas from anyone who has had this happen?
I later changed out all my 3rd gear components as they were worn and causing rough shifting haven’t had an issue since.
What piston did you use
I used a Pro-x piston
Would this be similar to a 01?
It’s different from the 2001 250f
American pennies are shit, gotta try a hab penny
Sick🤟
Looking good 🤤
Just picked up a 95 yz125, will be doing a full rebuild. Lots of info, thank you.
hay mate, are those fresh engine cases? and if so where can i get some? i cant find any, anywhere
Sorry for the late reply. They are the original cases. I would search eBay
🥰😍love 2 stroke
Wicked video, could use this a step by step. What oil do you to put in seals and/or bearings?
Thanks dude! I’ll use what oil will be on that part when running so on the trans bearings and stuff I’ll use trans oil and on the main bearings/ seals and piston I’ll use my pre mix oil. Yamalube 2R
Alex Tucker ahhh that makes sense, thanks!
need suggestions !! 1999 yz125 will freely shift up thru gears but will not go down, when u go down it goes to Nutral and that needs to be forced... i have the whole right side of the motor apart and everything looks good, the shifter shaft is slightly worn & kick starter spring is shot but that is all I can visibly see do u think i need to split the case to look at the trans (think maybe its my shifter fork?) or do u think replacing the shifter shaft will solve the problem? u seem very knowledgeable and I am desperate...rlly don't want to split the case kind of a rookie at all this
I would look closely at the shifting segment and make sure it’s moving freely, then I would removed the mechanism and try to rotate the barrel to shift through the gears while spinning the shafts. Sounds like a tough situation
The finish to that pipe is sick!
my bike is doing the same thing. Shifts cold and when it starts heating up, but once hot 3rd gear is a bitch. nice video bud.
Be sure to check your shift forks as well, I later discovered a worn shift fork that was actually the root cause of the shift shaft bending
Linda🥰
That 2 stroke smell 😍
David
so dope. absolutely love this unit
Love the two strokes
This video right here, this is the video that set me free from my burdens! After time wasted trying to figure out my hard shift from 1st to 2nd and also hard to put into neutral- I finally ran into the video with the information in it that was the answer to my issue! AND I WAS ABOUT TO SPLIT CASES AS WELL BRO! RIGHT ON. Now I havent confirmed that it was the issue yet. But what I can tell you is that my shift shaft is not straight and true when I set it onto my Mitutoyo granite plate!!.. Im going to mark the position of the bracket to shift shaft, grind and remove bracket, try to straighten out the shaft by heat treatment or force, reweld bracket, and see if that works. THANK BRO
Glad it was a help to you!!! Hopefully you’ll be riding again soon🤘🏼
fuckin nice video
Sick, I dig the black !
