These tires are made for it. Reinforced side walls. You should see them when people do some serious crawling on less air pressure! The only thing that’s hard on them is heat from driving too fast that low. That will create mini cracks that you can’t see and wear it out.

Head lights are golden. The only thing with these lights is, it looks like the manufacturer setup the high beam plugs upside down causing most people to think the high beams don’t work but you have to flip the connections and then it’s all good

I have the QT2. I wish I had the QDsystem. So basically how you see mine performing is how yours will drive as well. Unless you only have QT1 then it might be a little harder. But I don’t think they make a 2018 with only QT1

@@GrandExploration you’re right, I’ve got QT2. Damn excited to see how hard you go without locking diffs. I also opted to pick up one with air suspension because we tow a pretty capable off-road travel trailer with it and wanted better ground clearance with less sag when we’re headed back down those forest roads. Did yours have air suspension when you started your build? I went to your build playlist, but you were already a ways away from stock by the first video on that list. Basically trying to see how far I can push a stock WK2 and what the best low-hanging fruit is in terms of soft-roading upgrades. Loving the channel, btw. You’re a smart dude, a good photographer, and a natural in front of the camera!

@@americansafarico thank you! I really appreciate it. No mine did not come with air suspension. Air suspension will be nice for what you’re trying to do. For me air suspension can be a pain. Coils are just more reliable for my setup. And could allow me to lift this rig higher. I don’t know if you have seen my most recent video but I have since added a 3” lift and 35” tires. Checkout the video “rock crawling a jeep grand Cherokee wk2.” Most people didn’t think I could make that obstacle but if you are patient with the QT2 system and let it think a little, she will get over a lot of stuff. Most people don’t know how to drive it and that’s why they say it’s no good. Just get some practice with it and feel it out and you’ll have some fun

I’m curious, if you were trying to stay mostly stock WK2 for optimal highway manners but still augment your soft-roading capabilities what would be the upgrades you’d look at first. Obviously good tires. And I know I need to size down to 18inch wheels. But I’m wondering if there is any other low-hanging fruit with the WK2s. Skid plates? Maybe this would be a cool episode for you to do? 🤷 Meanwhile, keep em coming.

@@ski-kj1ri the Vlands are absolutely awesome. They do have a design flaw with the high beam plugs where you actually have to flip the plug and sockets to get the high beams to work. But other than that they were worth it

@@ski-kj1ri nice. Just keep in mind. You may have to shave the clip on your original high beam plug. Some people don’t want to do that. If not I would look at the morimoto Gen2 headlights. They look the same they just don’t have the blue DRL. Just an Amber option
