Homestead Stratford Superfan
Today I have a 52 inch Homestead Stratford Superfan in polished brass. This fan uses a DC brushless stack motor provided by GE. The motor is operated via a driver board inside the switch housing, and a specially made wall control that converts AC electricity from the source to DC electricity for the fan. Overall it is in very good condition and works well.

Hunter R&M Original Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 361วันที่ผ่านมา
Today I have an antique brass 52” R&M made Hunter Original. This model has Reverseaire irons and 2 speeds. Cosmetically it is in great shape, but the rotor was almost locked when I got it due to the oil spout being clogged.

Hunter Ceiling Fans
มุมมอง 37814 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today I have two newer Brushed Nickel Hunter ceiling fans. They are installed in a beach house. Their performance is abysmal as they spin quite slow on high and medium speeds.
Litex Ellington Ceiling Fans
มุมมอง 57521 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today I have two more Litex Ellington ceiling fans installed in a beach house. One of them spins rather slow and has droopy blades. The other, against the odds, performs pretty well. It would seem these fans are decent when bought new, but don’t stand well to the test of time.
Emerson Alta Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 531หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have an Emerson Alta in appliance white and polished brass. This is a rather unique ceiling fan in that it has a stack motor with a builder-esk motor housing. Overall this fan performs great, and it's cosmetically in good shape as well. I only wish these were a bit more common.
Fasco Charleston Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 402หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a white 42 inch third generation Fasco Charleston. The fan has a four arm aftermarket light kit and rather basic light shades. Cosmetically this fan is neigh immaculate with next to no scuffs or scratches. Performance is quite good, definitely on par for a 1990s Fasco product.
Fasco Olde South Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 464หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a 52 inch polished brass Fasco Olde South ceiling fan. I added a four arm light kit to this fan for the purposes of installation though it originally came with an ornate Fasco bottom cap. Aesthetically the fan is in very good shape, with only minor tarnishing on the switch housing. Performance wise the fan does have some dry bearing noise, but runs well otherwise.

Casablanca Cambridge Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 571หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a white and brass Casablanca Cambridge 13000 ceiling fan from February of 1983. The fan needed a new transistor, and motor following that, but after an extensive rebuild it works beautifully. Performance is excellent with quiet bearings and only a little wobble.
Spartan E5200 Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 4832 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a Spartan (made by Fasco) E5200. This ceiling fan is dated December of 1979 and has two speeds, essentially acting as a budget version of a Fasco fan. The motor is a bit noisy but airflow is as good as any other Fasco/Spartan product.
Crest 2000 Series Ceiling Fan
มุมมอง 7952 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a brown and brass Crest 2000 series fan with stencil blades and pretzel blade irons. The fan is flush mounted and about 42 inches in diameter. Despite being a cheaper built fan, its performance is not terrible by any means.

มุมมอง 6392 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a Codep Series 100 ceiling fan, also known as Codep Galaxy. This is a top mounted spinner ceiling fan with an ornate motor housing. A plain version of this model was also offered. The fan is in pretty good condition and performs well.

มุมมอง 5432 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today I have a 52 inch antique brass Homestead Whisperfan I ceiling fan. This is a very early Whisperfan model, with several characteristics and electronics being directly borrowed/purchased from Casablanca. The fan is an excellent performer and is in good cosmetic condition for its age.
Fasco Great Room Ceiling Fan #2

Today I have a polished brass Fasco Great Room ceiling fan. This is Fasco's largest model, measuring 56 inches. This particular unit is from 1986, so it has the Gen 2 style badges and standard ball socket mounting with a ribbed canopy. 1. American Industries (who happened to be Quoizel's OEM for fans) and Key Largo also offered SuperFan models. The reason your lights don't dim up to full brightness is because the SuperFan system ran the lights at 88 volts. The idea was that the lower voltage would prolong the bulb life. The idea being that the homeowner could compensate for the loss of light by using higher wattage bulbs Side note: How do you keep finding all the SuperFans?!

Model name is Amberlin or Creekside. The DOE encouraging manufacturers to downsize and undercap AC spinner motors to maximize "CFM per watt" seems to be the reason why today's fans run slow.

Didn’t watch past where you said Cape May. I knew this was coastal NJ! Even the “diamond” pull-chain screams SNJ coast. I live in TX, but grew up there. Litex was especially prevalent because of Fox Electric Supply. They had a few stores, namely Ocean City, and outside Wildwood. They sold Litex and Concord. Every newer or renovated home along the SNJ coast was loaded up with these! Footprint models, and really cool earlier versions. To this day, my grandmother, 92, has a Litex footprint, dated 1989, in her bedroom. I found it in the trash when I was 15, circa 2002. The owners said they replaced it with a fan that had a light, not knowing they could just add one. They replaced it with a Hampton Bay Chatham. I repainted it bc it had nicotine stains. Still runs beautifully all these years later.

Years ago, I lived in an apartment complex that had two of these in the clubhouse. Very tall cathedral ceilings, mounted on the slope, maybe 30+ degrees with apx. 5ft downrods. Antique brass, plain blades. Each had a solid state control on the wall next the wood burning- turned-gas fireplace. The slope was extreme enough you could almost see the top of the mounting ball on each one, and no recall clips. One day I asked why they were never used. They told me they wobbled too much. I didn’t dare turn them on! After moving away, I had to go back for some reason and they were replaced with some 5-blade Craftmade fans with strikingly-similar blade arms. I forget the model name, but they were oddly similar. The solid-state controls replaced with 3-speed dials, and both on medium. I asked about the Cambridge fans, they said the electrician tossed them a few months prior. Fast-forward 17+ years, the pics of the clubhouse show no fans and the fireplace gone. Only time I ever saw these IRL. Very cool fans!
