STOP Growing Bamboo in Your Garden [+ How to Remove it]
Is bamboo the next Japanese Knotweed? Let me explain the difference between running and clumping bamboo, where they can be planted safely and how to remove or get rid of them.
Bamboo was popular in the 1990s and early 2000s due to many TV makeover shows suggesting it as a feature or as a screen but this has led to improper planting and problems due to the invasive nature.

Brick Sealer/Waterproofer Comparison
มุมมอง 26Kปีที่แล้ว
Climashield and Stormdry were the winners in my test (see on Amazon: amzn.to/49x6wGG ). If you want to know if brick waterproof sealers discolour the bricks, this video is for you. I tested four different brick sealers that are widely sold in the UK. My test lasted seven months and is 100% impartial - I was not paid to conduct this test. Thank you excellent video.
Are these sealers actually a good idea? Thinking of just building a wraparound verandah to solve my problem
This is exactly the problem I had. Condensation in the loft. Thank you for the advice very helpful
The bitumen in my roof is pulled so tight, the first one I tried instantly ripped the felt. Can't fit them in anywhere. Shame cuz I bought 20 of 'em 🤣 Back to square one now...
Great video. Had the product recommended by neighbour.. good to see it in action.....like the no scrub no pressure wash option 😊
I'm guessing that a raised bed would work as well, like potted plants?
You can buy a coat from TK max a lot cheaper and replace itnevery two years or you can spend 10x as much and have it last 10x as long. Your choice.
Can you use on painted brick walls
Can this also works on grass
Great information, cheers Dan. My daughters Edwardian semi has this exact problem. Her roof space is absolutely dripping with condensation in cold weather situations. Going to buy and fit a dozen of these for her. Thanks again.
Soooo pretty!!
I'm from Southampton & have been a bt customer since 2017 but their prices are extortionate for just broadband use, think its £60 per month & the signal/Download speeds aren't brilliant... the broadband box itself intermittently goes into a strop & lights flashing on it & making clicking noises lol
Got 10 plastic vents and 4 tile vents - 2 each side but still getting issues on very cold days. The soffits are asbestos board than have been capped over so no ventilation. It’s like to put more ventilation in from eaves but how would I do this if I can’t touch the asbestos?
Can u paint over the brick once they have been sealed i want to do this inside my garage for the walls
Can sandtex weaathershield be applied after
Another whinging pom! 🤣
Good vid. Good bloke. Cheers Dan
Do you put it on the felt where condensation occurs or opposite side?
I've used the new switching service and my install is tomorrow....hope all goes smoothly!!
So beautiful! When my summer baskets die from the frost, I have something to replace them with now, especially nice for the holidays! Thank you from New Mexico, USA!
hi, thanks very much for this. I am doing my own loft insulation. There is already about 100mm of loft insulation from the previous owner (they must have done it back in the early 2000s). I will top these up after inspecting them (and replace where needed). A question I have is: do all roofs have that vent on the side of the roofs like you mention at 03:16 ? I can't really see mine as there is a slope and it's hard to get underneath it with on lying on my stomach, and also the old insulation is in the way. What am I looking for? thank you
If water can’t get it, then water also can’t get out. Like wearing a plastic coat, it’s going to sweat.inside.
Not necessarily so.
Fantastic review. Please can you do a review of masonry paint?
Only pay £5 for a static IP.
Hi Daniel, found your review online when the promised Aldi gun failed to arrive in Australia. Congratulations on such a comprehensive and easy to understand review. Whilst I may not buy your recommended gun, at least now I know what to look for. Thanks from a grateful Aussie lady. 🥇
Pulling out weeds in summer-hardened soil is perhaps "a bit courageous" to say the least. I had my Fiskar Xact for about 3 years now and it works just fine. It is a real pleasure using it. No more bending down ! I noticed however, that the shaft for the lever is just a short 6mm rod in way too small a cylindrical section of hard-plastic. I noticed some cracks in the plastic and decided to take the original short rod out and replace it with a long 6mm SS screw which goes all the way through the entire width of the plastic part. Given the long lever which creates a very strong force on the little rod and the plastic seat, I really wonder how the Fiskar designer considered his design to be strong enough.
Can you put on with a paint rollar
Which sprayer did you use? We've just has a hawthorn hedge replaced with a paling fence which will need re-treating at some point, as will our old shed. We also have a small brick workshop with 3 sides rendered, so I'm thinking about getting a sprayer that will cope with the shed & fence treatment as well as (diluted) masonry paint.
I USE THIS ALOT CANT FAULT IT
This is the very best video I've seen for care of my hydrangeas for the fall/winter/spring pruning. Thank you so much for doing this!!!
Great advice thanks 👍
where you bought them for 2 pound each lol
Thank you for the review on our Climashield Masonry Cream, Daniel! - We are always happy to hear feedback on our products & we are pleased that you found ours to be one of the 'winners'. 😄
Do you think your product is better than stormdry ? We always use storm dry and think it’s the superior product we are always open to discuss and maybe change products if it’s better
@@Theoldbricklayer Hello, the Stormdry product is certainly very good. In our opinion over a significant period of time, the performance of our product would be comparable. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal
@@SmartsealUk send us some and we will compare it 👍
This nice guy had no condensation issues yet he decided to make his loft insulation worse by pulling them in 200mm and tamper with his loft ventilation. Did he just do it as a hobby me thinks
Does it smell like creosote? If not, forget it
It does
Lovely & so natural looking. Thanks for sharing x
Thanks for the detailed review, Daniel! Before signing up with Toob, I watched the reviews including yours and thought it would be a good choice. Update: After 20 days without internet, the issue was finally resolved. Toob’s customer service team was excellent and kept me calm throughout. I believe the problem was with their network supplier, CityFibre, not Toob directly. I was compensated more than enough for the downtime. Initial Comment: Unfortunately, my experience has been quite different from yours. While the first 3 months with Toob were OK, my experience has taken a turn for the worse. I’ve been without internet for 14 days now, and despite multiple engineers, the problem still isn’t fixed. The communication has been inconsistent, and I’m left paying for a service I can’t use. It’s frustrating to see such a difference in experiences. Just wanted to say for anyone considering toob, be cautious-they might not always deliver. And when there is a problem, getting it resolved seems nearly impossible.
How will these work without getting Fresh air in?? Don't you need soffit vents to bring in fresh air?
many thanks, that was all I needed to know. I now have one on order.
Thank you! Great review.
Great review, thanks. I have the Einhell lawnmower and cordless drill, so only need to purchase the bare unit. Great German products!
Can you plaster thee wall after applying any of these sealers
In theory, the plaster wouldn't stick to it. This is like putting Teflon on your house
How can I get it
you can get it online :)
For people watching, the wifi speeds will vary based on what wifi card is on the device doing the testing and the amount of wireless networks around his neighborhood, you can go into the router settings and change the channels to avoid interference from others running on the same default channel, imaging how RC cars work, or walkie-talkies, they need to be on different channels to avoid interference. Also an after market wifi 6 router did amazing for me i got this as any router from a provider is never gonna be the best! :)
Thank you! Very helpful indeed
Thanks!
💯
Thanks for an honest, review. I used Patio Magic on my brick drive which was badly marked by white spots. I'd kind of not noticed how bad it had got over several years of neglect. After using Patio Magic, I would keep checking for improvement over the coming weeks. I was initially quite disappointed as didn't really see any change even after 3-4 months. As winter drew on, things never look particularly good as ground is more often than not just dark and wet! Kind of forgot about it altogether. It must have been at least a year later when I suddenly noticed how all the marks on the brick drive were no longer there!! So, I am really super impressed with this product! I don't mind it taking a long time, so long as it works and for me this worked brilliantly! As per video, just expect it to be a slow result, maybe even longer than stated, especially if condition is quite bad. But so far haven't had a reappearance of the spotting, but will certainly not let it get to the state it had in the past and will make sure I stay on top of things.Highly recommend this product.
I might buy one of these based on your video? Is it still ok? Thanks
Stunning!
