i'm having goosebumps while watching this, i don't know if retiring in the Philippines is a sad or an exciting reality dahil after experiencing life outside of my homeland with all the luxury(!?) that countries like USA, UK etc can offer, deep inside i'm still longing for life in the Philippines, sabi nga nila there's no place like home, i love this video dahil ganito ang nararamdaman ng maraming OFWs who spent most of their lifetime working abroad and in the twilight of their lives being able to go back where we all belong...

Agree.. very soothing voice… great content.. just wondering if you consider relocating to Marana, AZ.. new houses here are cheap and maybe you can still continue to work online.. I’m RN too but stay at home watching my 2 little children.. it’s relax here.. not too chaotic like California.. my husband work at Northwest Medical center.. not too busy compared to CA.. we came from southern OC though we missed the beach.. so we drive 5 hours to be in San Diego for vacation.. we like National City SD.. it’s like I’m in the Philippines dami Filipino stores.. I’m not a real estate agent.. just making sure all your options are on the table before moving to the Philippines.. in AZ.. you can bring Tekla! 😅

It is only good if you go on vacation. It is definitely going to be exciting to retire there say when you are 65 to about 75 years old. After that when you get sick and you need your maintenance meds it is not practical anymore. You will need your pension and social security very badly. Also, you would not want your children and grandchildren awayfrom you in your old age. But for OFWs I would definitely understand that they would want to retire there.

Ang Galing Ng video mo. I wish you well in your decision to retire in our motherland. I retired at 62 and after 14 years of going back and forth I have to say it’s another option for all. Because we have Medicare, and because of the advantage the exchange rate gives us, it’s very doable. I’m already 76 with one heart attack and one stent, I need to be checked every 6 months or at least once a year in the states. Because I love to fly and visit friends and relatives everywhere I will do so until I can no longer enjoy doing it. I’m prepared to pass either here or there. I usually stay in the Philippines when the ER months and cold climate sets in in the states. I live at my ancestral island where I can swim and fish even December which I call my patch of paradise. We ought to be grateful, unlike the Americans, we have this option of dual nationality. We have this huge advantage over them. For one, it’s not rocket science to realize there’s no way we can’t appreciate our savings and or pension multiplying every year. We are very lucky in this aspect alone, not including the warmth our country and its people give us as Balikbayans. You will not miss the states because we can get anything they have here already and on line at that. You will miss only the snow but at our age and arthritis, who cares. Be blessed some more! Come and spend our hard earned money at home…somehow it will help our citizens and our country. Most of all, enjoy the tropics and our unbelievably good food, share it and have fun with our folks.

Jameslee9726 kung may sariling kang bahay at walang utang definitely yung 2300 dollars u'll be fine as long as di kayo magastos. I'm from the uk and tried retiring in pinas but after 7 years we have to come back in the uk kasi medicines and hospital procedures too costly while everything in the uk is free . Gud luck and enjoy ure retirement soon in pinas.
