👏👏👏👏👏 realmente asombroso qué bernie cumpla 33 años, en Febrero de 2025, se le ve muy bien, me ha alegrado mucho verlo en vídeo, pues estoy mas tranquilo por mi cacatúa Pitu, ya que puede durar muchos años, si Dios lo permite, y no le pasa ninguna enfermedad mala, no se si en el libro guinness de los Records, hay alguna cacatúa que supere a Bernie, sería un pájaro inmortal, ojalá qué Bernie sea inmortal y durara muchos años mas, junto a su mamá 😊🤗👍
Thank you for the lovely comments. We enjoy watching Pitu and Shaggy. Pitu looks strong and confident--and noisy! I'm amazed that Shaggy is so nice to him. Pitu looks just like Bernie. I think Bernie is one of the oldest cockatiels alive today but he's showing his age. He's having trouble seeing out of one eye, so he moves slowly now. We asked our veterinarian for records of Bernie's first visits in 1992, but they don't keep those records that long. All I have is my own photos from when we first got him, so we won't see him in the Guinness Book of Records because I can't prove it. Oh well. We're grateful for all the time we've had him. Blessings to all of you.

This is the first time of my seeing Bernie. What a distinguished and calm gentleman he is. It must be frustrating for him to have to adapt and change, but he seems okay with it. Hopefully not pushing things will help him carry on longer.❤❤
We’ve been posting for a couple of years, thinking he would’t be around much longer. We wanted to share all his goodness while it lasts. But he perseveres and we’re blessed to have all these years with him.

God bless you, Bernie! My own special little guy lived to be at least 26 (he was grown when I adopted him, so I never knew his exact age). Little ones like you can become our whole lives, and that bond is a wonderful thing. Carry on, little guy.
Carrying on. 26 is a long time too. I got Bernie when he was 8 weeks old. I looked for a long time to find my feathered soulmate. He was hand fed by a very small pet store owner who told me exactly what to do to help him bond-which was almost immediate. We’ve been inseparable ever since. I’ve lived with him longer than anyone. I picked my cockatiel trying to time our life cycles together so she be with me during retirement so it is interesting watching Bernie's journey. God bless you and Bernie!!
It is amazing how these little guys can become so important to us. We had no idea that Bernie would be around for after our retirement. He relies on me in particular, (mom) so we can’t leave for even a little vacation because he would be lost without us. But that’s OK! Every day is a blessing with Bernie. Always great to see Bernie. I was wondering about him a few weeks ago. The little guy always brings a smile to my face. 😃 Glad to see he is doing well. I wonder if he misses flying?
He doesn’t seem to mind not flying anymore. For a while there he tried, and had to flutter awkwardly down when he missed the top of a door or chair. We think he has a problem seeing well with his left eye, which throws his judgement off. Now he just chirps until we lower him down to the floor. He always makes sure we’re in chirping distance. Glad he makes you smile.😊
