Hi Owen. I find sometimes that when I write comments using the mobile phone, they don't always appear !?. Yes the highlight for me was the sunrise also. It was quite windy that morning, so I had to shelter the camera in among the rocks. Yes, the midges !! 😒 repellent just doesn't keep them away, the headnet is the only thing that works 😶‍🌫️. Hi Martin. Yes, they are beautiful, especially when the weather is good. I have had the tent out 4 times now, and so far it's been good. I can get all my gear, including the rucksack inside. The head room and the foot area are excellent. As for the cons !! The inner and outer are quite close to each other, so it needs a taut pitch. The storage bag is a pain, and you need to roll the tent up tightly to get it in. (Minor issues, really). Thanks for your message it is reallyappreciated. all the best 👍

Hi Joe, Thank you for that compliment😊. To be honest I don't really like how I sound on video, maybe that's the same for everyone. I have the scarp 1 for about two months now and have been out in it 4 times, so far its been great, lots of head room and foot room. Thank you for your message and compliment. Hi Jason. Its not the best mountain for tents (not at the top anyway) . That whole ridge was swarming with midges and what looked like flying ants. Iv had the tent for about two months and have used it four times. It goes up quick, but does take a bit of adjusting when up, overall im happy with it, the winter will tell if its as good as its made out to be. It was an enjoyable day and night and to get the sunrise was a bonus. Thanks for your message and support. All the best👍

Hi. Thank you. Yes the land is privately owned and technically you shouldn't camp. I was on my own and set up just before dark and moved just after sunrise. It is a spot that is not easy to get to and is secluded. I left no trace and didn't light a fire. All the best 👍

Eventually you have to let it go off into the distance and hope that it comes back . I have got out a few times recently, whenever there is a break in the weather. Hope things are well with you. Hi Tony. That's a tough question. I am going to assume you are from Dublin ?? If you are a regular hiker then I would suggest in Wicklow , Lough Ouler or Stoney top Mountain which is just above it are good. Kellys Lough is also good ( its a bit of a trek into it). Or maybe an Island camp ?? Inishboffin is a spectacular place to spend a night and no mountains to climb 🙂. Its hard to recommend somewhere when you dont know the person. Camping equipment and what you will need for the night weighs considerably more than a day hike bag. On my first camp, my bag weighed 14 kg and I was wrecked after 3 km and that was walking on the flat. I hope this is some help. Thank you for subscribing 👍. all the best.

Hi Paul. Thank you. The weather was great, nice and calm which is needed for that spot. its a bit exposed but you get great views from there. Its nice to just sit there and hear the last of the day hikers disappear down the valley below and then silence !! you know yourself with the drone, it takes practice to learn the controls and then have the Ba**s to let it off into the distance. Hi Miriam, and the flat spot was not very flat 🙃. I didn't see any signs this time around. I know the signs you are talking about as I spotted them about 12 months ago. There seems to be no issue from Cloghernagh to Arts lough. There were a good few hikers using that trail on their way back from Lug. The zig zags are still off limits, which is a shame. The night went well in the tent. I am happy with the drone footage, the good weather helped. Thanks for your support 👍, and hopefully I will bump into you in Wicklow soon. All the best.

Hi Owen. Thanks, its taking a while to getting used to flying it, but Im happy with the footage. The time of day and the light seems to play a big part. The pitch was grand, a bit of a slope but a rolled up poncho did the trick of keeping me on the mattress.

​@@Andrew......... I have a rule with the drone , to always keep it's back to the sun . Where possible . . It is so hard seeing the screen in daylight 😂 Your orbit of the tent is a masterpiece

Hi. Camping gas was the first issue, I bought it in Kenia outdoor which is in Palma city, its not too far from the bus station but it closes for siesta from 2 o'clock until 4. I had to wait for over an hour (in the rain) for it to open back up. I didn't see camping gas in any of the shops or supermarkets along the way. Water is really only available in the towns and villages, or until you reach cuber reservoir. There are fonts and wells marked on the map but they were either dry or looked dodgy. It was September when I went. Most towns have a shop or supermarket for getting food. The shop in Estellencs is very small and I don't recall seeing one in Banyalbufar. The route is fairly well marked with sign posts, I used a map and the Alltrails app. The app was useful especially in the town of Soller. Camping spots were reasonably OK to find. It was very hot during the day but as soon as the sun goes down you will feel the cold especially if you are up at height. I think you will enjoy the experience. Best of luck with it. Andrew
