    Really like your daughters' hats...very cute. And as always the sewn items are spectac. Started thinking I needed a table runner! I'm working on the City of the Sun sweater in various blues, and the Faeno sweater in Holst Garn browns. I plan to do a color work leaf pattern at the bottom of the sweater in left over HG cantaloup. I HAVE to use a colorwork book I bought. Happy New Year to you both!

      Thank you! I do love crocheting kids hats! They are so much fun and so quick to make compared to knitting. Sometimes you just need a quick palette cleanser project! Sounds like you are some nice projects too ❤️❤️

    Happy Holiday’s ladies! I Love watching you two so much. You are both so talented and I can’t wait to see your next creation. I just started knitting during the Covid situation and I didn’t know that there’s a whole new knitting world and language. I’m glad that there are others keeping knitting alive. I wish that I knew someone that I can knit with at home or at work, but living in California doesn’t offer many people into this hobby. I also Love seeing your Mom show off her sewing fashion’s and quilts! Keep it up girls! See you next time! 🌲 🧶 ☕️ 📖 ✂️ ⭐️ 🪡 🧵 🎄

    I just suffered through frogging hours of work. I started the Fire Lily color work sweater by Zanete Knits in October but then put it aside for a long time due to working on Christmas gifting. When I picked it back up I was in the middle of short rows. Complicated but I figured them out. Got to the point of starting the color work chart and discovered that somewhere along the line I had twisted my knitting and I was now knitting a möbius instead of a sweater. Had to frog it completely and start over. My gauge was off so 2nd time around I’m using smaller needles (Imma loose knitter) and I’m finally back to the color work chart round 6. Going well this time. Hope it keeps going well. 😂

    • @stringsattached336
      @stringsattached336 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh no!! I have a Zanete Knits tragedy as well.. my Zalktis sweater turned out way too big so I will be frogging the entire thing as well probably sometime this coming year 😩 oh well, we love our hobby right?! 😆

    • @karendavis7278
      @karendavis7278 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ yes we love it. It is a good thing I’m more process knitter than product knitter. I love the process enough that I’m usually not too devastated when I have to frog.

    With that yarn, that’s half one color and half the other, you could make a Musselburgh hat and it would be reversible one color on one side and the other color on the other side because with a Musselburgh hat, you just do stock it all the way until the very end on each side is you know decreaseyou could try that. OK, never mind you did really good on that. Camisole Way To Go with one skin amazing.

    The quilted table runner is a beaut! You must have a wide table. Love the Monkey Hat, of course your daughters want one! Wapta Falls is a waterfall in British Columbia Canada. Donna here, your projects look very nice, especially like the black tank and Frieda's shrug. I think the colorway might have something to do with Rick Astley's song. A number of years back, you used that song to get Rick-rolled. ( Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down.....) Also, Yarn Geek tells me that Joann has glow in the dark yarn. I don't have a Joann near me, so I go to Micheal's.

    I appreciated your spiel about sock care. Also about luxury yarn. Early on I realized that I was spending more on knitting a sweater than I would ever countenance spending on a commercial sweater. Makes you think. But I do it, buy pricey yarn, semi pricey. (Well there was that Myak yarn I bought....) The sweater I'm most thrilled by is one I spent $15 to make. I had a gift certificate to Michaels, and a coupon, and the ACRYLIC yarn was on sale. Then there are the podcasters who apologetically rationalize to their viewers why they used acrylic yarn for a project. The amount of money most of them are spending on yarn takes my breath away. You guys live in the real world, my world anyway.

    • @stringsattached336
      @stringsattached336 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! We like to dabble in some “fancy” yarns but mostly it needs to be reasonably priced bc we make so much 🤣🤣 and yes about the socks- if I’m going to get any actual use out of them they’ve got to stand up to everyday wear and tear and that includes the laundry!

    Donna here, hello ladies! I really like the cardigan that mom is working on, thinking about making a similar one for my daughter out of Truboo (I'm in Louisiana) I'm 65, and my aunt used to make a birthday cake for my cousin and I (our birthdays were 2 days apart) I always thought she was so talented! She made her frosting with Crisco too. Back then we didn't think anything about it, it was still good ;) I'm making a baby blanket right now too, so I know what you mean about being motivated in the summer to knit. I just want to do all the outside things!. Maybe mom can put her acquisition outside! ;)

    I’m always happy to see a new podcast from you two. All your projects are great as usual. I especially like your quilt, Freeda, and the scrappy quilt socks you made Mallory. I used to do a lot of scrapbooking, but I started running out of time and energy, so I switched to having them done via Snapfish (which is an online photo company). I still personalize the books by writing either a full description of what’s happening or just little comments. I usually do a book for things like vacations, birthdays, etc. Honestly, my kids and grandkids like them just as much as the labor-intensive scrapbooks I used to do. I wanted to mention this option in case you’re interested.
