Physics Update for BINK Gold (First Alpha available on Itch.io)
Update about the ball physics I've been working on for the last 2 weeks as I have time. Turned out to be a much bigger problem than I had assumed but I now have a pretty low level physics engine built into my Godot 4.0 game BINK Golf. This is only the nightly builds but the next update will include the improved physics engine 100%.
Next step is getting everything else up to speed with the new engine layout in general. for more check out my devlog on itch.io at offgridgecko.itch.io/bink
P.S.This channel is changing and evolving. I have no desire to play the youtube subscriber game so I'm selfishly going to use this as a placeholder for dev stuff that I'm working on, rocket vids, and other nonsense. GoogleAds or whatever won't even accept my address for payment so screw it.
If you want to learn bushcraft, grab a couple flinty rocks and smack them together. You'll figure it out.

AlienOrigin.io - A web-based SETI radio astronomy simulator. uncut, unscripted
มุมมอง 49ปีที่แล้ว
alienorigin.io Hey, know I've been on radio silence for...ever. Been doing a lot of stuff with my new job as a web3 dev but did find the time to work up a little project of my own. 2 years ago I had this idea, wouldn't it be a cool project to launch a radio astronomy game and actually use proceeds to set up a radio telescope and use it for actual SETI astronomy. Of course the NFT market isn't w...

I see a lot of these survival vids, particularly Altoids kits and EDC keychain type stuff, where people spend so much money to build a little tiny kit and for no reason. If you are into any kind of primitive or survival thinking, you probably have more than enough laying around to build up as many of these "survival kits" as you could want, but at that point most of us don't care anymore. CCI Stingers vs Velocitors, no BS, just strait talk and by the numbers

There's a lot of quarrel and fuss surrounding this "competition" for the "best" 22lr round. Let's get real. #1. It's a 22 #2 Velocity is the king of nothing #3 We all have our favorites, and we all have different demands and expectations from our ammo. It's a personal choice. Crosman Shockwave Air Rifle Unboxing and Review
มุมมอง 5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
About 200 rounds in, this thing is performing okay. The Crosman Shockwave is a Walmart special item. I wanted a new air rifle that was lighter than my Beeman, and hopefully a little quieter. I got it. The new airgun is quieter than my other one, and it's much easier to tote around due to the light weight of only around 6-1/2 pounds, a bit more with the scope added. I've been punching soda cans ...

Winter Protection for My Beehive, and also Beetle Protection from SHB

Small Hive beetles are pests, but normally the bees can keep them at bay quite well. According to everyone I've talked to in the area, my bees have fared better than most, and the hive, though a little low in numbers due to their late start, is still thriving going into fall flower season, scraping up what they can from goldenrod and daisy fleabane. Getting through the winter may bee another st...
Why You Should Zero Your Ruger 10/22 Hunting Rifle at 20 Yards

This should be a no-brainer, right? But it's not. Most people sight in their hunting 22LR rifle at 100 yards, just like their deer guns. You shouldn't, and I'll tell you why. Your system makes good sense. I seldom use any ammo other than subsonic in my .22LR rifles and I have settled on fifty metres as the range at which my bullet should be coming down to 'zero'. The range at which my bullet hits the line of sight on its 'rise' may vary according to how high my sights are above the bore. I have a 10/22 fitted with an optical sight with a centre line that is well above the bore and the bullet from this first rises to line of sight at just over 20 metres (which is pretty close, in practical terms, to 20 yards). I also shoot with a .357 magnum rifle that uses subsonic projectiles and because the trajectory of these projectiles is so similar to that of a subsonic .22 rimfire, I 'zero' at a similar range. The system you describe is good because you never have to 'hold under', and you only have to hold over once the bullet is going further than its maximum point blank range (or sometimes when shooting at something small very close). I have used .22LR subsonic to take a lot of game, including small pigs and feral goats. A rifle like a Ruger 10/22 is excellent for helping to make sure you bring home meat. We aren't permitted big magazines in our part of the world (we have a limit of ten shots), but we can freely use suppressors. Best wishes from New Zealand.

None of these air-rifles shoot their best until the assembly grease is burned out of them. That can take somewhere between 100 and 200 shots. Expect fliers pretty often until the grease is burned off. Get a decent scope with an adjustable [front] objective lens so you can get a sharp image at the distance you usually get your shots at.

I don't have a scope on any of my airguns. They render the gun useless at close range. My Beeman RX gas spring gun has the Beeman(Williams) rear aperture sight with a professional scope stop behind it. My Benjamin Trail NP All Weather has front and rear shotgun sights. It came with a scope, but that scope has never been used on any gun. Review the gun without the scope.

I only use the firing pin safety and I removed the magazine safety. I can put the safety on, chamber a round, carefully drop the hammer and then put the gun to fire. Then all I have to do is pull back the hammer. For me that's the best way to carry it.

Sorry but I don't worry about a point blank range for my .22's. I sight in at 30 yards and always have. I know the ballistics of my .22's which depends on barrel length. I know a .22 drops 6.88 inches at one hundred yards so I shoot accordingly. When playing battleship with our .22's my son and I shot at 25 yards and the zero is the same as at 30 yards. The distance you sight in a .22 is up to you and what you intend to do with the rifle so I don't think anyone does anyone any good by saying "you should" when giving their own personal opinion.

I'm zeroed at 25 yards. 061023 I shot 2, 5 shot groups 581 holdover 4 inches at 100 Yards, Ag ammo 40 gn RN, group 2.09. 10/22 holdover 3 inches, CCI MM 36 gn HP, group 1.46. Zero at 25 yds, One inch high at 50, Back to zero at 70 yds, 3 inches holdover for 100. I can see the holdover at 100. I know where my rifles hit. The beauty of the 22 is you can PRACTICE a lot for the cost of 22 ammo. 1500 rounds less than $100. Can't see that with ANY other caliber unless you handload. I handload .380, 9mm, 38sp, 357 magnum and 45 ACP.

I have an odd application for this I want to put it in a crawl space under the house, venting it out the wall under my deck. I guess this won't work if it has to be powered on constantly. I can do electricity because my panel won't take that power. I really only can do propane and if I go with a regular hot water tank I can only do 30 gallons to fit in crawl space. Thoughts?

I guess it could technically work, but what happens when you need to clean it or service it in any kind of way? Water heaters tend to always be in accessible locations. And you can set the water temp on this and the readout is helpful when using low-flow faucets. It really doesn't take up any space. It's like a big I-phone stuck to the wall.

Zero your Gun with a factory recommended ammo. The rifles in the barrel rifles are engineered to spin the bullet at a certain speed to keep the barrel long life and more precise. Using a higher power bullet, and the front of the bullet will ride over the rifles in the barrel and ruin a new gun quickly, 500 rounds. The high power bullets will wear a grove in the rifles quickly and ruin the barrel. Shooting higher power rounds will make a spiritic pattern also and never a tight group on zero. This is why a recommended cartridge shoot much better and more precise. Zero in at 25yd. and then 50yd on manufacturer recommended ammo. Rimfire scopes for 22 have a drop zone reticle that compensates for long distance shooting, 100yd. or more, and are engineered for that. So if the manufacturer recommends a 40 grain bullet, it was engineered for that round and that speed. With a stainless or chrome barrel it will keep the rifles much longer in the barrel.
