Canabase anchor

Here is a quick video explaining how I tie in for prunes. Setting an adjustable cannot anchor from the ground then advancing as if I'm in a base anchor, thus a canabase anchor!

Simple lower able basal anchor
มุมมอง 6K8 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a lower able system, utilizing a Second climbing system and an alpine butterfly basal tie off. We have tried this with 100 pound weight difference successfully. No cutting involved, very simple.
SRT redirects
มุมมอง 5K9 ปีที่แล้ว
A look at a few SRT redirects that I use. Ranging from natural crotch redirects, dynamic redirects and retrievable redirect
Sisk retrievable redirect
มุมมอง 1.6K9 ปีที่แล้ว
A redirect utilizing the tale of your line and a prussic cord. Is retrievable in the tree or from the ground. Showed to me by Odis Sisk. Other options can be used when attaching the rope to the carabiner such as a munter or a clove hitch. But they will remain on the rope and can then be retrieved from the ground when pulling the rope out.
Retrievable redirect
มุมมอง 4489 ปีที่แล้ว
Irretrievable redirect I learned from Mike Skillen. Uses a webbing strap and a small ring and two carabiners. By attaching to tell if your line to the one carabiner it is made retrievable. You will need three times the length of rope from the redirect point to the point of retrieval in order for this redirect to be retrieved
Dynamic redirects
มุมมอง 3049 ปีที่แล้ว
A dynamic redirect using a webbing strap and carabiner. Using either a mutters hitch or three wraps on the carabiner I can increase friction sharing the load between the Tie in point and the redirect
Natural crotch redirect.

    just recently got the notch rope glide myself. any advice for releasing it in a srs config with your whole body weight on it? any tricks? seems to really bite down when fully weighted. maybe i just need to work with it a little more and something will click.

    I am going to do roof work on a steep roof with a 1/2 inch safety rope that I already own connected at the peak. I want to move up and down the roof to do work with both hands free when I get to the roof spot to work on. Will the Notch Glide Rope Glide work for me in case I fall and keep me from sliding off the roof ?

      Though it might work for this application it's not specifically designed for it. If never seeing a significant force or load, I might just use a form of a prussic, such as a English prussic or a distel.

    Question guys! Which knot is best to tie in the middle of a line in a construction setting: timber hitch, sheep shank, running bowline, or figure 8? I don't know too much but it can't be a timber hitch or a sheep shank obv, I know that much. Thank you in advance!!

      What application

    • @tonydelpilar
      @tonydelpilar 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@countryboypa31 Well I'm aiming to be a lineman, & sometimes "rigging" (as the folks in that construction trade call it) is necessary to hoist or lift or support. In linemen school we would use a bowline on a bight if we needed a knot in the middle of a line to put a meat hook block & tackle into it & we'd lift these utility poles into the air to place into ground. So I'm guessing its something very similar, where we need a reliable strong knot. Theres no way it could be the running bowline right? it has to be the figure 8. Wish i could help more, thats the test question word for word

    • @countryboypa31
      @countryboypa31 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tonydelpilar I would probably recommend a cow hitch if you can put it over the top. A midline bowling would work. I've heard of a constrictor knot being used, but I'm not very familiar with it so I'm not exactly sure as it can get very tight and hard to untie in certain circumstances... Hope that helps just a little

    • @countryboypa31
      @countryboypa31 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be jumpy, not designed specifically for that. But with a belay hand it can be done smoothly. I find i rarely descend srt on my lanyard

      I was about to make a similar comment because this could be a game changer if you could safely repel SRS/ single rope! I can think of so many applications it could be used for if so!

    • @morleychallenged
      @morleychallenged 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your waist-point breaks, you're dangling by your legs or falling out of your harness. if your leg-point breaks, your waist-point is all you've got.

    Another good one is a clove hitch on a bight around the desired union. Then to connect via a carabiner the tail of you rope to the cross over on the clove hitch. When you want to retrieve it simply unload yr system, & jiggle/pull on your tail to work the clove hitch free. Only extra equipment you is simply a carabiner

    The sheet bend (tied here) and bowline share many similarities, except for the routing of the lines. Traditionally, if the two ropes are of unequal diameter, the bigger rope should be the one that is not crossed.
