I charted one to callous bc

I've been into Telluride 3 times in my 32 year (so far) career - first time in a Citation III, twice in a King Air 300 (always left seat). ALWAYS landed to the east and took off to the west. Would you have had greater than 10 knots tailwind component if you'd landed to the east?

I flew into Telluride once. Coolest approach ever. This video shows it perfectly. You feel like you're flying right at the mountain, then at the last second you make a tight little turn and the runway pops out from nowhere. I loved it!

I "sort of" remember Willmington. I was stationed in Camp Lejeune and went down there to get drunk. That's all I remember...

How/where did you mount your camera to get that view? I think it is perfect to monitor steering wheel and lines at the same time.

@efnosmoke Yep he was wrong. You can do a full stall squeeker just like a Cessna in any airplane if you know what your doing.

I remember someone telling me, you cant flare a Cheyenne like a Cessna152 , he was wrong.

Love that Westbound approach. (Runway 27) I thought the "turn inside the road" approach was just for the 121 operators such as Great Lakes...

@jagmotorsports That is the BEST advice I've ever heard. That's why I like great handling cars, as opposed to ones simply with a lot of power. My Old Man's 1987 300ZX is a vehicle I'd love to take on that track, and it might not have as much raw power as a modern Mustang GT, or a Camaro SS, but it can run with the best of them on the twisties.

@jagmotorsports Sage advice. You guys that haven't been to a track day yet should heed it.

Great Video! I participated in a FATT session back in 2003, what a blast! What kind of camera did you use to film this?

I've been involved with SCCA for several years. Currently not autocrossing but racing a Spec Miata in the road racing series with SCCA and NASA. NASA has more track days than most clubs. Check the NASA website for a calendar. Here in the North East your can find a track event just about every weekend.

Nice runs. Lost it that first time, but fixed it in your subsequent runs. I've been dying to join SCCA and get out for one of the track days, but they seem so few and far between. I'd like to come watch one or two before I take part. Have you been involved with the club long? Congrats on first place.

Nice run. I agree the pole at 2:14 is way too close. A little too much understeer there and you'll have a very bad day.

Oh I'm done with making more power with my C5. Suspension, brakes, and tires are my next mods(it has c5z brakes right now and michelin pilot sports for tires). Actually, I'm working on a 93' Mazda RX-7, that I'll be doing an LS1/LS2 swap hopefully before Christmas. That is the car I want to track full time, and leave the corvette as my daily. I do a lot of mountain/canyon runs with other fast cars, but I really want to race legally on a road course and develop more refined driving technique

The only mods that I added are the ones that are important. I good racing type brake pad and racing brake fluid. Good belts and a head and neck restraint. Oh yeah, sticky tires. Don't waste your money by trying to make additional horse power. Learn how to drive on the track first. Thanks for your comments! :)

Very nice video. What's the mods on the C5? Is it a coupe or Z06? I have an 00' 6spd Coupe with a Procharger and I'm hoping to get into road racing next year when funds agree with me. Great racing man!

Yeah, not the best music but without music you only hear wind noise. Should have a better microphone soon so this years videos should have better sound.
