Honestly, if the developers of Hellgate: London had just scrapped the entire game idea, and instead chosen to make an animated movie on the concept instead (of a similar quality to this intro), I think they'd done better. Haven't seen anyone else react to this, and its a pity, because (whatever you may think of the game itself) this cinematic intro is amazing and deserves more love.

That music at the climax, with all those choral voices in the background and the heavy strings...man, the difference music makes to a scene is just insane. I haven't watched any of this series except for this episode but that scene alone made me well up just from the line 'my brother' and the swell of that music.

Daemons cannot maintain their existence in the material universe without a constant source of warp energy or by wearing a meat suit, which almost always requires consent from said meat suit. Consent given after being driven insane from weeks of sleeplessness due to constant daemonic whispering, visions, promises, etc counts. Without a warp rift, sufficient warpiness in the area due to warp fuckery, or enough warp energy in the form of their required emotions, like fear and anger for Khorne or despair for Nurgle, or a meat suit, the daemon will pop like a soap bubble. Like a candle blown out in the wind, or fog dissipating in the sun's light. Daemonic summoning is mostly just making sure enough warpiness is in an area from various rituals and sacrifices, making the environment conducive to the existence of daemons.

Maudred, who Grimaldus inhereted the role of Reclusiarch from was his mentor. Which reinforces the "survivor guilt" theory. He felt responsibility for his predecessor's death and thus believed himself unworthy of the ascension. You could say the color was confidence through repentance, which for a "warrior without peer", would manifest itself in the thick of battle. The color does not fade when he realizes they are doomed or when the campaign is lost, or when his brothers fall around him. It fades when he survives. He died on that planet.

Andrej and Grimaldus happened to run into each other again during the war: ‘Vox link established,’ came the bridge servitor’s voice. It amazes me to see that a handful of genetically modified super soldiers whom never show their faces (Grimaldus is the only exception) throughout the story can invoke such strong emotions in the wiever at the very end. You don't get to see their faces, but instead you get to hear their personality through their banter and camaraderie. It is masterfully executed, to humanize these faceless demigods that you find yourself attached to them. It's denifietly a hard task but an achievement in itself. Also it is good to see that you had the same reaction as me in the final stand. And I beleive there is nothing to be ashamed of about it. The Emperor protects! Stay safe Josh.

there are 2 different groups when it comes to warp entities. those that are material beings, and those that are effectively pieces of a chaos god. all demons aren't their own being so to speak, though they have their own thoughts and even ambitions, they are small pieces of the god that created them. when a demon dies, it eventually reforms in the warp. chaos space marines are material beings. when they die, they die. they can be corrupted, gain some power, etc from a chaos god and still be material beings. but if they are "blessed" by a chaos god, they are no longer material and become an extension of the chaos god. Chaos itself can't manifest in the material world unless specific conditions are met, and they can be banished back under specific conditions. mostly the sacrificing of material beings, in terms of entering the materium. Demons, demon primarchs, etc fall under this category. But for the most part, chaos cultists and chaos space marines are only empowered by chaos and not blessed by them. but they will, given the chance, summons some demons. the only place that these rules break down is around the eye of terror, a tear in reality, which is why cadia was such and important story point, it was basically a shield protecting the galaxy from the eye of terror 1 more thing. traveling through the warp. there is a piece of technology all ftl capable ships have. a geller field. if keeps reality reality, and the warp the warp. though it does fail on the rares occasions, so you have ships that go missing without a trace, for the most part, ftl through the warps biggest concern is actually time. because the laws of physics are extremely fluid in the warp, you can for the most part, predict the time it takes to get to a destination, but the margin for error, is pretty big. usually in terms of days, weeks or months. say the estimate is 3 days, you end up getting there is 4. but on rare occasion, its 3 years later, or in very rare cases, before you left.
