@@gerrycappuccio4186 thanks for watching! I’m glad you dig it!
You are great teacher out of your simplicity
Thanks so much for checking out the lesson! I'm very happy you liked it!
Great
Thanks for watching!
For a couple of years now, I’ve been asking “how can I make my playing more hip?” - to get that extra edge. You just answered me in under ten minutes. Thanks a lot!
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
I feel I’m a moderately advanced jazz player but that taught me a lot in a short space of time. Really good video, thanks.
Thanks for watching! I’m happy that helped!
A philosophy that experienced players agree with. Take small bites, digest that... and methodically move forward until it's "Giggable!"
Thanks for checking it out!!
Speaking the truth!
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
great thanks
This is some great theory and you sound great, however, it would be even better if we could hear the D7 chord beneath each exercise. Thanks again for sharing. 🎷 💯
Totally agree on hearing the track. Thanks for the feedback!!
Sounds great!
👍 thank you!
Thanks for checking out the video! I have a new pentatonics lesson on my channel if you're interested in that one too.
Okay thanks 👍
I am a pianist but i find that this is a good resource for improvisation many thanks GodBlessing
Thanks for watching! Glad you like it.
Great content, concise and not overwhelming, achievable and well explained. Content to work for days and hours. Good job 😊
Thanks for watching! Glad you dig it!
Yes sirrr, love your sound! Honored to be part of your sax journey bro!
Thanks man!!
you are a great inspiration!
Thanks for watching!
What’s your set up there with the white mouthpiece…syos🤔
That’s a custom SYOS mouthpiece. I switched to the Nexus Edge mouthpiece since then. Thanks for watching!
Everyone is coming out with a sax learning video… Where’s the pdf ☮️🎵🎶🎷
Great alto tone; that lil’ bit o’ delay is beautiful.
Glad you like it! Thanks for listening!
I used to live in Austin 20 years ago. Does Joe Morales still play? Do you still have the weekly jam sessions on Monday at the Elephant room?
Yes, Joe is still very active in Austin and he sounds great! The Monday jam at The Elephant Room is still going strong too! I play there at the end of this month!
Thank you for your clear explanations, you inspire me to practice this.
Thanks for watching! I’m happy you enjoyed the lesson.
Well presented. This is great material. Once you hear these sounds, it will be possible for you to play them. If you can't hear it in your head, then sing it, then you can't play it. I have found this to be absolutely true. Pentatonics will open up new doors to more ideas. Luv your tone, bro.
Thanks for checking out the lesson! I have a follow up pentatonic video coming out soon!
Where is this going to be?
River Sun is a venue that just turned one year old. It's by the Riverwalk. 1011 AVENUE B SAN ANTONIO, TX 78215 Hope to see you there!
I just love the saxophone... Play on Sir Play on!!!
Thanks for listening!!
@@jojopt2 Thanks for playing...
Absolutely stunning, love it.
Thank you so much for listening!! I’m happy that you like it!
While I’m happy with my current tenor setup, this is making me want to try a Nexus.
Thanks for watching and listening! I'm still very happy with the Nexus Select Tenor and the Nexus mouthpiece and ligature.
Good on you mate we’ll said 👍❤️
You should make a Spotify song cuz god damn you hit that sax 🎷 🎶🎶🎶🎶
Love it
🙂 Promo`SM
Appreciate the work to come up with original material.
Thanks for listening!!
Honest effort and skill. A bit loud and busy. Thanks
Does the nexus have metal resonators?
Yes, it has nickel plated brass resonators. Thanks for watching!
What Syos mouthpiece are you playing?
I was playing a SYOS custom that I designed on their website. I switched to the Nexus Edge tenor mouthpiece a few months ago. I’m really happy with the Nexus mouthpiece.
Thank you!@@jojopt2
Hi. What is the difference between your syos custom and nexus edge?
Very informative video. Nice to see Texans are still making great music. I grew up in the Houston area (Baytown). I have been on a journey to regain my skills. I gave it up for several years. Now I'm just trying to enjoy myself.
Thanks for watching and listening! I’m happy to hear you are playing again and enjoying it!
Best Sax review I've seen on youtube!
Thanks for checking out the video! Much appreciated!!
Anything you can't hear, the brain can't keep up with. Anything you Can hear, the brain makes patterns out of. Any of these patterns are then accessed unconciously later on, instead of having to think or concentrate really hard.
Hi I really liked your sound at 7.37 would mouthpiece were you playing there. Many thanks.
Thanks! That was a 10M Fan Black Widow mouthpiece. I don’t think they’re still available but all his pieces are really great!
Beautiful!
Thanks for listening and supporting!
You sound great brotha!
Thanks for listening and supporting!!
What mouthpiece is this white -SYOS or Nexus ?
In this unboxing video I’m playing a custom SYOS. I recently switched to the Nexus Edge tenor piece. You can see my review of it here. th-cam.com/video/plp8nh5vmxU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HgzfsHRN3gv746IU Thanks for listening!
Great advice and thanks for sharing your strategies on building jazz vocabulary. I’ve done many transcriptions through the years and even memorized many of them but only little chunks in one key would ever show up in my playing. I recently embraced the idea of learning 1, 2, 4, and even 8 bar chunks of info from my favourite solos in all keys and I really feel like it’s taking my playing to a whole new level. As you say, my confidence has gone way up knowing that I have lots of solid info (that I love and chose to learn deeply) that I can call on in all keys if I need it and it’s going to add to my solos. Excellent ear training as well. Thanks so much for your insightfulness! Tim
Thanks for listening, Tim! I appreciate the support!
This man is a truly dedicated artist!!
Thanks so much for listening!
thisartist is really great! Id like to study with him but Im too old!
At this point, are you still digging the Nexus or the Syos?? They put me on an add but didn’t pay or even mention my name! Is that from Chad LB book?? Sounds really hip
Hi Jason- I really dig the Nexus piece on tenor. I was afraid of losing power or not cutting as much when I switched from the SYOS but it does it all with a much warmer and fuller sound. My friends and fellow players say it sounds better too. I got this exercise from a pentatonic masterclass on Chad LB's site. It is a cool sound for sure. I'm working on getting it up to speed.
What alto is that? Thanks
It’s a MacSax Empyreal. That company stopped making instruments and just makes mouthpieces now. I really dig the horn. Thanks for listening!
@@jojopt2 thanks for review.
Thank you
I wanna learn this
Thanks for listening! Here's the video where @ChadLefkowitzBrown breaks this down with a link to the PDF. th-cam.com/video/bP72amBkcBc/w-d-xo.html
Can you make a video and talk a little bit about your musical journey, practise routine, ...? Would be great 👍🏻
Yes, I have a couple new videos coming out soon! Thanks for watching and asking for more content!
yeah man! Good to hear you; you're sounding great! It's been more than 25 years since we jammed in Corpus back in our high school days! Hope you're well - Jeff Pierce
So good to hear from you, Jeff! Thanks for checking out my video!! Let me know if you’re ever in Austin.
