@GhostRiley713 Negative! Castrol synthetic oil changes every 5,000 miles. Change tires and brake pads as needed. New plugs around 80,000 miles. 2 radiator flush and fills with Engine ice. Change fluid and seals on front forks at 96,000 miles. . . Jugs have never been opened. Still purrs like the cat she is. . .

It should get better, but these are also relatively square bricks we are pushing down the road. Mine was just in for service and they did a fuel injector recall - I believe it is a reprogramming done to the ecu. She seems a bit better now.

So far so good! Had them up a few times. The only issue I have with the basic tent is not the tent, rather the sports bar making the install take a little more time. For those looking for a nice spacious set up for a midsized truck, these are perfect, as long as you realize that your truck is basically married to the camp site while these are used.

The running boards are the stock ZR2 rocknsliders with the added OEM removable steps. By "removable" they mean 15 minutes with a socket undoing 4 bolts for each step.

That is the OEM Safari Bar that came standard on the Desert Boss and AT4X Edition 1 packages.

You can reset trip 1 and trip 2 mileage and mileage calculations through the trip section of the vehicle information.

I have seen someone make a hard cover fit. Of course that took some cutting of the hats cover frame fornit to fit around the sports bar . . . Which I'm not confident enough to do!

Thanks! I have only seen a couple of Gen3 ZR2s on the road. Have never seen another Desert Boss. See a few Z71s, Trail Boss and LTs on the roads, but none at dealerships for a couple months . . . So they are out there somewhere! Keep us posted once you get yours!

There are a few companies that sell the overlays. I haven't had issues with scratching , just dust. Others have applied PlastiDip with great results.

I came from a 2002 Tundra with the 4.7 V-8. My son is driving that. The V-8 got about 15mpg. Feenix just rolled 5,000 miles. According to the trip meter she has averaged 16.3 mpgs over her lifetime. I did just get back from a weekend trip of about 330 miles of mixed interstate, DC area gridlock, city lights and flat country roads. Over that she shows an average of 19.3 mpgs. Some are saying that as they get around the 5,000 mile point they break in and hit their stride. Still the best 450 miles I show is 17.9 mpgs. A slight improvement over the Tundra . . . I am happy with it. Didn't buy it to be a hyper miler. . . But the right foot does impact mileage a bit. And sometimes it's so damned tempting tonspool that turbo up 😜

If you have the 11 inch DIC, press the lower right button on the steering wheel to cycle through the various displays. Once you find one you like, long press the same button; this will give you 3 Guage choices within the basic set up. If you have the 8 inch DIC (Driver Information Center) I'm not sure if you can get this display. This may be one of those cases where the size of your DIC actually matters 🤣 For 2024, all Colorados have the 11 inch DIC.

I found them in the warehouse last year. The lights are great and the synched speakers makes them better. Good sound from them. They can also be uses as a power bank to charge a phone etc.

Two or three times I have had the blind spot indicators go off with nothing around . . . It is rare - I actually wish they were a little more sensitive as they don;t come on until a vehicle is just about on me . . . .My windows have been fine.

If you are looking at a Z71, they get better mileage than I am getting with a ZR2 Desert Boss. The DB is a few hundred pounds heavier, higher, and has larger off road tires, all of which decrease mileage. Guys on Coloradofan forums with Z71s are getting much better mileage.

I just swapped from 33s to 35s on my ZR2 & I’m averaging 17 mpg. Have to imagine the Z71 on stock 32s can get about 20 mpg per testing by TFL & others.

I have not as I have not had an ECM fault and per current guidance it does not apply to the HO tune engines. The ECM fault affects 2023 Chevy Colorado trucks equipped with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine and the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine in Turbo Plus tune.

I have a HO and I got a recall notice , if you have the HO there is deff a recall give them your vin and check

I can confirm the gas milage went up , just got back from the dealer , im pretty sure it was running Rich and the flash maybe leaned it out , I dont know but thats just my guess , time will tell

I can see that - But the way these dovetail together makes them difficult to take out and put in . . . I really wish the OEMs were one piece - I believe the GEN2's are one piece.

Nice! Trail Boss is a bit lighter than the DB . . . and my times weren't exact - One of these days I may get an OBD module to get more accurate times!

@@Napomsfreedom Does the Desert Boss have Heads Up Display? Mines due to arrive this week for pick up and was just curious.

@aaronvogt335 Negative. Only the Canyons have HUD. I wanted it, but it doesn't really matter to me. I usually wear polarized glasses when driving and (at least in my wife's car) the polarization makes the HUD very hard to read.

Haven't towed with her yet. This is a Desert Boss, a few hundred pounds of extra stuff on her compared to a Trail Boss, Z71 or even regular ZR2. Bigger wheels, more weight = less mpg. Still getting better than EPA eatimates!

Yeah, it is what it is. Was hoping this would stay as the easy unexpected fix, but no.

Have about 1,200 miles on the Triple As. I like them, but mat be putting the Chevy ones back soon just to keep her stock. At the price point, you really can't beat the Triple As.

Yeah it makes no sense - My wife's Hyundai is easier to understand - it gives you the MPG by the fill up and automatically resets each time you refill the tank . . . Don't get GM's reasoning for this.

@@Napomsfreedom my '16 z71 v 6, gives you mpg by the length of your trip, every time you reset one of the trip meters it starts recalculating mpg

@848evo4 these do that too when you reset a trip meter. The only hassle is that the trip meters are 4 clicks into the infotainment screen to reset. My wife's Hyundai automatically resets the trip meter when you refuel. Go figure!
