Laughable to complain about forest fires. As somebody that travels frequently along the west coast i can tell you that there has been smoked filled days if not weeks along the west coast. Get out of your bubble 😂

If this was a realistic pros and cons then the homeless population/issue and gang violence should have been mentioned. I was born in sac and have family both here and in San Bernardino I lived in so-cal until I was 14 and moved back to sac. Been here for 18years and the homeless is increasing by the day and Sacramento doesn’t seem to have a solution for it. I just bought a home in plumas lake because I now have a baby and want to keep him away from the danger that comes with the homeless encampment’s and the gangs. I loved growing up in Sacramento and am sad that I had to move to plumas lake to find a decent affordable house and keep my son away from gangs

Too bad they couldn’t make the houses closer together 😮

I am disappointed at all these new builds. Most of them shrink in lot size-the newer the smaller the lot size. The materials they use are cheap. They are mostly surrounded by neighbors and backyard has little to no privacy. The walls are too close to each other. You also pay extra $400 or so for Mello Roos and have to pay that stupid mandated solar system that messes up the roof. Lastly and also most importantly, i have not seen any new builds in cul-de-sac settings. For all of those reasons, i dont buy new builds. I specifically search for older home in cul-de-sac instead.

You forgot to mention one of the major cons and that's Sacramento is home to some of the worst drivers in the country. It's amazing the things you see some of these Drivers do on a daily!

You forgot to mention the tule fog that can be so thick you can't see past the hood of your car! and can last for weeks!

I’ve lived in Elk Grove since 2006. Love it here, traffic isn’t bad and everything you need is close by no matter what neighborhood you live in.

The homes show beautifully. My only pet peeve with open floor plans is that while they are breadth taking to look at you really lose a lot of privacy. Kitchens can be very noisy and of course aromatic. Difficult to read a book or do pretty much anything else when a meal is being prepared because of the activity surrounding you. Can’t take a private phone call or watch TV either without listening to a lot of background noise. I love doors everywhere so I can be around people as much or as little as the occasion requires.

Thanks for railing against the horrible traffic congestion there. Car dependency is about as bad there as any place I have ever been. It’s also very easy to get lost in the Sacramento metropolitan area. Forget about moving there or even going there. Don’t think mass transit will help. Look at NYC. No matter how many subway cars buses taxis bicycles ride share options you have there the traffic congestion just keeps getting worse. We won’t even mention what happens when the roads need to be repaired and traffic gets backed up even more than before. Yikes!!! In all fairness car dependency is a national problem especially in your major cities. A complete culture shift needs to occur. We can’t build our way out of car dependent cities. Imagine the nightmarish traffic should the city start digging up roads to build some kind of mass transportation infrastructure. Gotta find cities around the world that have solved this problem and copy them and then improve upon what they did. Am sure car manufacturers and other related industries such as oil companies would push back hard against changing the status quo to keep their profits high.
