6 hot dogs cut in one inch pieces
2 tbsp. oil
1/2 c. sliced celery
1 c. sliced onions
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 - 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 Tbsp soy sauce and 1/4 c. water

Good afternoon Sue! I’m sorry your recipe wasn’t what you expected. I do like kielbasa, cabbage and onion cooked together in olive oil and adding a little butter and black pepper (of course, ya know! 😊) Anyway, since cabbage has water in it, perhaps the extra water was the culprit! Sometimes all we can do is try and I know you did your best! Thank you for sharing! 🍂💕

Well, it's food. 🤣 I was a pretty young kid in the '50s so don't remember much, but from the recipes I've seen, that decade wasn't know for great food! Spices were practicably unheard of. I have a recipe that uses fried hot dogs and they're actually pretty tasty. I like cabbage and onion, can definitely do without cooked celery. 🤢 I think you're right, too much water in this recipe. But thanks for trying!
I agree about the spices. The only spice my mother ever used was salt, pepper, and sometimes garlic salt!
@@SeniorCitizenSue I don't think my mom even had garlic salt. Although when she made chili she'd put in a dash of chili powder, but just a dash. She did start getting more adventuresome in the '60s though.

@@christinef7739 I don’t like complicated recipes either. The only trick to this recipe is spreading out the cake mix crust on the bottom of the pan.

Yes, it is really easy. Next time I will double the recipe for the filling portion (cream cheese, egg & sugar). I think extra filling would make this recipe really, really good! 😊
