Learn 5 (UNDERRATED?!) Slash Guitar Solos! [ WITH TABS ]
มุมมอง 85814 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hi everyone, here are 5 guitar solos by Slash that are, in my opinion, a little underrated! I've included scrolling tab for each one of these solos if you'd like to learn them 🙂 remember all solos other than Slither are detuned by a semi-tone in typical Guns N Roses fashion. If you found this video useful please give it a thumbs up and subscribe! If you have any questions leave a comment and I'...
Is This The Best Key For BEAUTIFUL CHORDS and Picking Patterns? [ WITH TAB ]
มุมมอง 7821 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hi everyone, here's a guitar exercise in one of my favourite keys: B minor. As you can see from the opening sequence we can create some really nice sounding chords when we make use of particularly the B and top E open strings alongside carefully selected chord shapes. This is really fun to play a melodic solo over so I wrote a bit of an example solo for you to mess around with! If you've found ...

Damn dude, nice one. Keep rocking bro 🤘🏼
Thank you 😊
Sounds lovely! Song name?
Reptilia by The Strokes!
Agreed
Aaaah guitar hero 3 flash backs 😳 also you are now legally obligated to cover the whole song because your guitar sounds much better than the original lol
Haha thank you! I've already done a full cover here: th-cam.com/video/mxBIOc7tJMA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZL4vUkpHQyagO_AC 😎
Great now I have to go listen to the whole song
Haha it's hard not to 🙃
Riffs that make you go 'Hell yeah'
Nah its shit
What don't you like about it?
no because this song is super famous
Holy shit. A guitar player calling a famous song underrated on purpose? This makes me want to sarcastically die. Not that I actually want to, but I like to joke sometimes
The riff can still be underrated even if the song is famous!
Sadly my friend yes we all have to play the bullshit click bait-y game sometimes...I'd love to only post earnestly and humbly all the time but thanks to people's short attention span these days coupled with the way TH-cam's algorithm works, I'd still probably be stuck on 100 subscribers... And for the record, I do genuinely believe this riff is underrated (most people don't rank it high at all even if the song is well known) - anyways, have yourself a good day 🙂
The bas is the best part. Genius
Yes I absolutely love the bass line
amazing work on the guitar!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Good going
Love the cover!
Thank you!
Love my tele
Why not isolate the tracks so we can hete the difference?
That's literally what he did
Tele, all the way.😊

Tele!!
Tele
It's a beautiful tone and understated solo in an equally magnificent song that's hard to compare to anything else.
Couldn't agree more, I absolutely love this song
@@daveshannonguitaracademy I 'discovered' this a mere 2 weeks ago falling in love with the song/video. I can't get enough of it and it's inspired me to learn the solo on guitar and now I'm wanting to give the piano a go.
The tele by far.

Tele-Tasic! ;)
Neck sounds great. Really clear and smooth

i don't know man: always on the run by lenny kravitz is literally his most underrated solo.
Totally agree, which is why it's worthy of it's own entire separate video! Whenever I can manage to finish transcribing it haha 🥴
Great Timing!!! You know, the last part of Locomotive gives me the shivers, hardly ever see it anyone cover it, maybe you can look into it.
Oof that is a great shout!
Great!
Jimi Hendrix
That one guitar player who played that solo
"The garden" by Guns n' Roses
Where do you get your tabs? (great vid btw thanks!)
Thank you! All my tabs are my own transcriptions that I make using guitar pro 🙂
Cute dog. I think the dog said "come on with the unnecessary finger tapping" 🙂
Haha yes definitely wasn't her style 😂

Excellent!!!
Everytime I see a video about Slash's solos, there's no mention of his solo album from last decade, yet there are really awesome guitar runs and solos. Fill my world, Starlight, Crazy life, You're a lie - such amazing solos and songs, yet we still keep the dogma: Slash = GnR. Great video though, don't want to express negative energy, just thinking out loud :)
That's a really good point my friend 🙂 I'm definitely gonna have to do a "Slash's best solos from his solo work" video in the future!
Because Slash's best work is without any doubt in GNR.
@@nunopereira526 I'm not saying it is not. I'm just saying, that see Slash live on his 2024' tour is load of guitar mastery even without G'n'R. And that there's a lot of really (really) good stuff on his solo records.
Nice playing, nice pup!
Shans the man
Great tone and great playing.

I love it. Any recommendations on how to get started with fingerpicking and tapping?
Thank you! Yes of course, happy to help 🙂 for finger picking the long term goal is to have true independence from what your (picking hand) thumb is doing compared to your other fingers - it's almost like the guitarist's equivalent of the left and right hand of a pianist, but just on your picking hand. Your thumb will normally be laying down a steady rhythm (think simple consistent quarter notes) and a good place to start is to try playing a higher string with your (probably index) finger at the same time as every other thumb note, so a pinching technique. The next stage is to try to put finger string plucks in-between the notes that your thumb is playing. When it comes to tapping, definitely start slow before trying to build up speed! Something to be very mindful of is when we're tapping notes we can get a lot of unwanted background resonance from other strings which can muddy the sound up a lot so we either have to carefully try to mute the unwanted strings with our fretting hand as best as we can or we can use a fret wrap/string dampener that wraps around the first fret to help dampen that I wanted string noise. This only works as long as we don't want any open strings in our tapping sequence!
@@daveshannonguitaracademy thank you for the response and the tips. I look forward to learning this technique.
You're welcome, good luck!
Great lookin tele!
Thank you!
#2 is amazing
Thank you!
lmao #2 for sure!
Thanks! Think I'm leaning towards #2 as well 😎
That guitar has stories. It has to. ❤
Yeah the fella in the factory whacked it with a screwdriver and sanded off some finish. Truly an epic tale.
@@xStabizorz 😅 damn. Probably..
@xStabizorz it looks like real wear. But there's no need to explain that to an expert such as yourself. Stay hydrated fam ❤️ 💜 💙
@@brandondavidson2200 The purpose of factory 'relicing' is to imitate real wear. Stay hydrated and stay safe my brother in Christ.
@@xStabizorz fair enough. But look where he's tapping on the neck. Idk. Could be fake. Could be real. I don't even really care lol. Anyway, how are you doing man? Me, I'm alright. The world is crazy but right now shit doesn't suck. I'll take it.
