Guitar Solo Examples Using The G Mixolydian Scale

  • Hi everyone, here's a couple of guitar solo examples that will help you to practice using the G Mixolydian scale. If you're familiar with your G Major scale the good news is this scale is only one note different! Namely, the G Mixolydian scale has an F natural whereas the G Major scale has an F#.
    If you want to relate this to something more familiar you can even think of this scale as sharing a lot of notes with the E minor pentatonic scale starting on the 12th fret of the low E string - the only difference here is we are of course treating G as our root or 'home' note and we also have C and F notes added in within some of the phrases.
