Intro to Ceramic Glazing: Using Multiple Overglazes
Good glazing demo, but that is not overglaze. It is just glaze. Overglaze goes on after the glaze firing and then the items are fired again.
Do we get to see the final product after glaze firing?
You are such a joy! I wish I could work right next to you 🥰
Love it! Thank you!
Amazing lesson!
Thank you for the all knowledge and to give all the knowledge thank you thank you thank you so much
Thanks for this video. You are clearly a good teacher. I was reading recently about horror stories (albeit with thicker metal and larger presses) whereby sheets etc that get caught can fly off also and hurt people. The tips seem to be to clamp pieces, but also even moreso, to sharpen (or rather, precisely dull) the bits to have a 'negative burr'. A few comments suggested this may save some horror stories. I also hear that fine metal dust can be very dangerous and so a solid extraction system (e.g. shop vac with cyclone separator, pointed at the workspace) can help also. The person I heard from puts a cover - e.g. fly mesh - over the end of the vacuum hose so she can suck up shards but it won't suck up and 'eat' her small pieces by accident! Anyway, thought I'd throw that in there in case it's useful for anyone. Thanks again for this helpful video.
Thank you!! Finally someone who gets to the point and you are such an excellent teacher. ❤❤
I am in jewelers school and we have to wear an N95 mask and follow a strict protocol with sponge and mop clean up of the whole area where enamel powder was used (it has a way of traveling in the air and takes a few washings to not feel it under your fingertips on surfaces after you thought you cleaned it all) - also fold and dispose of the paper you sprinkled enamel on to - so know one else handling the garbage will breath in glass particles.
Another safety need is wearing a mask when working with the enamel powder. It's basically ground up glass and is very dangerous to the lungs if you breathe it in. Fused glass artists use this stuff and wear masks when working with it.
🙌♥🌷🙏
Forgive my potentially silly question (and I apologise if you showed this in the 2nd half of the video) but when you've done the back of a piece, do you do the front by heating the underside again? Does that not affect the back side enamel?
You are amazing thx God bless
Very nice! TY! I use. a flower punch but really enjoyed learning hand drawing and painting own pieces ! Very much interested! TY! 😊
This is the best video I’ve seen on enameling! Thank you!
How did you make the branches?
If you dont like smell of nail polish alcohol takes marker off to
The blue green patina is toxic so wear gloves while rinsing!
Enamel oil? Klyr fire ?
Really good and quick and some of the best advice I've ever seen on how to do this. I've never seen the method of making a triangle before soldering, but that is genius, so you're not trying to balance solder chips on the seam :)
Would this work in making toggles and smoothing ends?
great video! how long can you use the ferric chloride to etch?
Hello, can u use acrylic paint, and seal with a clear sealer?
Where do you get the pieces of glass?
Best tutorial on bezel setting and I have seen many Thank you so much
Thank you for all the great tips! I'm assuming the torch is an air/acetylene torch? I couldn't tell from the video.
Is it ok if the masking tapes gets fired too?
Boring
I do tin can art too
I’d be putting those little glass sticks on everything for a while that was pretty cool thank you
I love your video great job 🤩🤟🎉
Thank you 🤩❤️ very good and interesting 🌹💋🎉🤟
This doesn’t work , the paper is detach midden of sawing ….. so far superglue was the best but it is hard when is stick to fingers
I’m a glass artist that has just taken an interest in this. I have a million questions.
Thanks you are the best God bless
Do NOT put etch (Ferric Chloride) down a sink! That is a BIOHAZARD ☣️
What clay do you use?
Great tutorials thank you, can't wait to give it a try ❤😊
Thanks, i am beginning to learn and this helps me a lot to get a starting point. My aim is to build laughing Buddha first. Dhanyavad!
Hi. Will you kindly post the type of clay and a source for it…so many types of clay. Thank you !❤
Brilliant video. Super instruction now I am searching to buy some products to get into enameling. Very inspired. Thanks a bunch ❤
I don’t understand all these positive comments. While explained a lot, it would’ve been really nice to see you actually doing it. 🤷♀️
Did we watch the same video darling? This was very informative, especially for folks that wanna explore in their home studios (without dropping 3k on a kiln haha)
Great intro to overglazing
😢
You explain very well. I wish I was there. near by you but I'm so far from you to join your class
A question please? we must enamel both sides ? And, can we enamel brass? Thank you❤
Thank you❤❤❤
Wow, that's great to know! I've always admired enamelling work but this is the first time I've seen it done. I'm sure I will have fun with it after I am done with some other projects and have bought all the gear. Thanks so much!
If you place a penny or two under the copper blank before sifting it's much easier to lift.
Where can I find Mini animal #3? Would love to see the head of the fennec fox. Thanks so much for your videos!
