    how did you get your lean on the roof? Did you make the back wall shorter, or did you notch more out of the back end of your ceiling joist?

    What part of Michigan are you from? I grew up in Custer, Michigan near Ludington Michigan. Let me know when you’re ready to come to Texas to build mine.

    Good morning. I comment on your other video and yet I have another question. What is the length of the 4x4s for the roof and what length are the 2x8s for the privacy wall? Thanks so much. I am doing this build for my pool this coming spring.

    • @hurstyoutdoors
      @hurstyoutdoors วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just measured for a sanity check, since it's a 12x12 kit everything is 12ft, you might have to cut a half inch or so based on how exact/square you get it, but buying all 12ft'ers and you are good to go! Same with the privacy wall with 2x8s. Just measured the legs going up, those were just around 8ft, this can be modified based on how high/low you would like. You're gonna love it, love the look of the brackets too, gives it a strong/rustic feel. Good luck!

    Only thing i would add to it would be a wooden box on the outside for 20 # LP bottle. And the hose inside to the heater. Another thing we have been doing is putting lawn fertilizer 3or4 times mice and rodents don't like it burns their feet

      Great idea, was just talking to some buddies about that with the LP, those little bottles run out far too quick!

    Why did you use OSB on floor? And plywood on walls

    • @hurstyoutdoors
      @hurstyoutdoors 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Used plywood on walls cuz it would be better/easier to paint and make a smooth surface and withstand elements, when OSB gets wet it usually turns into a mess, so used those for inside.

    Very nice! I do not like hinged windows…. Depending on the sun they will reflect light and deer will see the movement. I like the shadow hunter design for windows. Also next level for your blind: 1. Capet the interior walls. Sound absorption, and use white carpet below the windows… easier to see in low light. 2. Add ventilation/stink pipe. To remove your sent as high as possible. This helps if you use a heater too, for bad fumes. And keeps it cool if you add a battery powered fan in the warm months. 3. Expanded metal is best for stairs in cold climates. No snow or ice build up. Overall great job! Check out my build… th-cam.com/video/3lJ-Kk-RNFk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eqSTvER8BKHXzVTQ

  • @Theredeemedchild2

    This is the first blind I've seen built the way I want to build it. The only difference is there is this mesh that is sticky on one side and goes on the glass. It's easy to see out of but really limits visibility in the blind. It's called moyishi one way perforated black vinyl privacy window film. Plus I want outdoor carpet (2 layers) on the floor and a single layer on the inside walls one to make it dark in there and harder to see in and also to help lower noise when things hit the walls.

    Great build! A couple of things that I think I would do would be to add a window to the back wall so nothing can sneak up behind you. I would also paint the back interior wall the same color as the exterior so your shape and movement doesn't stand out on the light colored wood.

      Gosh it's been awhile.. you'll need to price out 8ft 6x6s ($40 a piece) and 12ft 4x4s ($20 a piece) I purchased from Menards so it was a cedar tone treated wood which just means it's pre stained and I highly recommend it. Screws/hardware is included in the Toja grid kit
