Transforming Pasture Into Garden - YOU Decide WHAT We GROW This Year!
how did you get your lean on the roof? Did you make the back wall shorter, or did you notch more out of the back end of your ceiling joist?
I painted the inside of mine to break up raw wood look. Nice video series!!
Appreciate it, I bet it turned out great!
What part of Michigan are you from? I grew up in Custer, Michigan near Ludington Michigan. Let me know when you’re ready to come to Texas to build mine.
I'm in the southern part of Michigan, Ludington area is gorgeous, I'm about 3 hrs from there. Have never been to Texas but it's on the list!
Good morning. I comment on your other video and yet I have another question. What is the length of the 4x4s for the roof and what length are the 2x8s for the privacy wall? Thanks so much. I am doing this build for my pool this coming spring.
Just measured for a sanity check, since it's a 12x12 kit everything is 12ft, you might have to cut a half inch or so based on how exact/square you get it, but buying all 12ft'ers and you are good to go! Same with the privacy wall with 2x8s. Just measured the legs going up, those were just around 8ft, this can be modified based on how high/low you would like. You're gonna love it, love the look of the brackets too, gives it a strong/rustic feel. Good luck!
Only thing i would add to it would be a wooden box on the outside for 20 # LP bottle. And the hose inside to the heater. Another thing we have been doing is putting lawn fertilizer 3or4 times mice and rodents don't like it burns their feet
Great idea, was just talking to some buddies about that with the LP, those little bottles run out far too quick!
One of my friends put wall mounted heaters uses a couple of 100-lb bottles
Why did you use OSB on floor? And plywood on walls
Used plywood on walls cuz it would be better/easier to paint and make a smooth surface and withstand elements, when OSB gets wet it usually turns into a mess, so used those for inside.
Well done brother heads off
Good upgrades since last year. Why not paint the ceiling? And legs?
Haven't had any issues with deer walking past it every day, they just get used to it. Legs are pressure treated so just wanted to save some work on my end.
My guy I’ve been thinking about putting this up.
Do it!
Thank you for your work. I am not in your area but I appreciate your great efforts.
Appreciate it!
Very nice! I do not like hinged windows…. Depending on the sun they will reflect light and deer will see the movement. I like the shadow hunter design for windows. Also next level for your blind: 1. Capet the interior walls. Sound absorption, and use white carpet below the windows… easier to see in low light. 2. Add ventilation/stink pipe. To remove your sent as high as possible. This helps if you use a heater too, for bad fumes. And keeps it cool if you add a battery powered fan in the warm months. 3. Expanded metal is best for stairs in cold climates. No snow or ice build up. Overall great job! Check out my build… th-cam.com/video/3lJ-Kk-RNFk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eqSTvER8BKHXzVTQ
Epic build you did!
This is the first blind I've seen built the way I want to build it. The only difference is there is this mesh that is sticky on one side and goes on the glass. It's easy to see out of but really limits visibility in the blind. It's called moyishi one way perforated black vinyl privacy window film. Plus I want outdoor carpet (2 layers) on the floor and a single layer on the inside walls one to make it dark in there and harder to see in and also to help lower noise when things hit the walls.
Those are some awesome ideas.
Gutta go up higher
Great blind but add non slips to stairs and a railing
Great build! A couple of things that I think I would do would be to add a window to the back wall so nothing can sneak up behind you. I would also paint the back interior wall the same color as the exterior so your shape and movement doesn't stand out on the light colored wood.
Thanks for the tips, ended up painting the whole interior flat black and talked about it in a follow up vid, looks way better!
I started deer hunting back in 1987...no food plots..trail cams..and no stupid ass blinds like this...I have 11 mounts on my wall from good old fashion deer scouting..always on a tree out in the elements...only new generation pussies hunt from blinds like this...what a joke
What did you make the stairs out of ? 2x8 or 10?
I think I might've even done 2x12s, but definitely 2x10s or bigger.
Another yuppie hunter showing off how much money he can afford to spend on a luxury box blind! Pathetic the shit people do for attention! I bet u also drive a big diesel truck and have a fat wife
Those logs look cut. Had you already spent time cutting them up or did they wash in from elsewhere?
Yep, cut them up after doing the initial tour beginning of the vid, wish I would've recorded it but had to cut them up to move em'
$2800 for just the metal brackets......is it just me, or is that crazy expensive?
It's expensive sure, but the quality is great, includes all the hardware/material besides 6x6s, and love the look/aesthetic for the pool area.
@hurstyoutdoors I went with Vevor brackets which were a third the price. They seem solid and well made, but I'm about to find out how sturdy they are...
Emeğinize, bilginize ve birikiminize sağlık...
Thanks for watching!
Where can I buy the brackets kits?
Home Depot is where we got ours, free shipping!
Thank you 👍
😊
Can you share how much did it cost material with a breakdown?
Gosh it's been awhile.. you'll need to price out 8ft 6x6s ($40 a piece) and 12ft 4x4s ($20 a piece) I purchased from Menards so it was a cedar tone treated wood which just means it's pre stained and I highly recommend it. Screws/hardware is included in the Toja grid kit
Awesome job.👊🏻🏹
Awesome and I am with you on 6x8 the preferably size
So cool and amazing. Pretty breathtaking man. ❤👍
Thanks!
🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Finally a man with a chainsaw!!
Do you have any building plans for this? I would like to recreate this.
I don't have exact plans but modified from this guy here.. his plans were great and just modify to what you want like window height, roof, etc good luck and reach out if you have any questions! myoutdoorplans.com/hunting/6x8-deer-blind-plans/
😂😂😂😂😂
😆👌
How many acres does your pond have?
This is a half acre, wish it was more already!
It's awesome. My husband and I are in the process of buying 6 acres, and 4 acres are a pond. I definitely want it to look like yours.
叔父さん凄いぞな! 一人でやってるよ! 頑張る叔父さんにエール❣
Having the kids help was really nice! Great series on building man!
Hey appreciate it! Good luck this year with hunting!
I would have put a sliding door on it Other than that looks great
Put some metal flashing all around the outside window sills, wrap the sills with flashing. Seal up w silicone. Hang dark curtains inside windows. Only open curtains a lil bit when in shanty..
Pure Michigan ~
Can you send me sketch with the cuts for the roof joints? Also did you add two top plates on the front to create the slope?
Thank you for this!! I just moved from there to NC for family. I MISS THIS!!!!
Hey Mr. Michigan. temps are dropping ever so slowly up here in Montreal. down into the 60's now during the day and overnight. Much cooler than it has been.
Good to hear, it's been an interesting summer, heat and rain wise that's for sure.
That looks great! How deep were your concrete footings and what size Tapcons did you use?
Appreciate it! We did 48" for frost line here in Michigan. If I remember right for tapcons was 5/16's, 3in long. Been rock solid 💪
Just doing a mow transformed it from rough looking to greatness. Love the spot with the picnic table. Great relaxing view under the shade. Great job x
Appreciate it! It really did transform the area. Looks way better.
how do you protect it from predators or cats climbing up the tree?
The opening/entry is quite small, I'm not concerned about predators. I think cats would be hard pressed to get them especially since the bats are roosted way up too in the box. Have you started building your box?
@@hurstyoutdoors We have some bats at home up in the attic. We don't mind them at all but we will put up a couple of bat houses at the wall when they move out for the winter. Maybe we will have one bat house up in a tree like you did, but I'm concerend about the cats in our area. Did the bats move in, your bat house?
Nice work but that’s a gazebo
Appreciate it, while I agree it's just what Toja Grid calls it. Just making it easier for people to find.
