2008 Honda Accord 3.5 V6. This vehicle had a tick noise that increased with engine RPM, removal of engine valve covers to inspect valve lash and i found bad camshaft lobes. Changing both cam shafts can be done in vehicle

2011 GMC Traverse with 400k on engine, Strange clacking noise from top end of engine. Vehicle has new timing chains installed. Phaser should be locked low rpm and unlocked at high RPM.

Just copped a new ACDELCO TEHCM & a SONNAX 6L80L valve body with all the updates. $1200+ well invested. Doing a ground-up build for my GMT936 chassis.
Thatbis why I plan to get the 6.6 liter crate engine swapped into my GMC SIERRA in the future. It has no dod and afm, just a pure work engine.

I replaced the passage sleeve twice and it’s still leaking from the connector. I have a new TECHM installed as well. At this point I’m tired of dropping the pan to address the sleeve. Plus the pins aren’t loose.
I just got done doing the same thing on mine. 2008 escalade. Vehicle would act fine until it got warmed up all the way. And then I would start having random delay shifting RPMs shoot up but no acceleration and most of the time reverse wouldn't engage. Was hoping replacing these discs in the THECM would fix the issue but it did not. Now I'm wondering what else it could be.....
Well I guess you're not answering comments, but just in case anyone else knows. I did the repair, but I took all the bolts out by feel and am not sure what sizes go where I have 11 bolts. 5 different sizes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ok my question is mine moves with pulley and cam shaft is also on driver side close to strut tower.i did timing due to the plastic coming off a guide.starts up runs great drives just that driver side chain will not stay tight
I have a 6L45R transmission in a 2010 E90. My problem is it jerks from 2nd to 3rd gear. Other than that, it's normal to go down from 3 to 2. No fault code The oil is good and not lacking. Can you recommend me?

With these gm having displacement on demand or afm, the best thing to do is disable this feature. If not it's bound to fail
I would disable this feature due to the fact that it will fail and cause a repair that costs more than the fuel mileage that it saves.

What gen is this transmission?
have to warm up the engine before stepping on it.
So what causes the camshaft to become damaged in the 1st place?? Lack of oil changes?? Etc
Yeah i think so, or the engine oil level has been low. Also could be wrong type of oil used.

Hello quick question I wanted to know how long it took you to change out that phaser and if it was difficult or easy I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 GXP with a 3.6 L and I need to change mine out
Skilled person 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Removal of the intake system to gain access to valve covers . The use of a special tool is required to change the phasor.

Yes, you can take it out with the side cover still on. It's tight but it can be done

My lifters failed at 7k mile as did a friend’s Cadillac same year 6.2. Traded it in for a Red eye go MOPAR

What are those 3 black links on the chain?.. Are they not for timing of some sort? Or it doesn't matter?
It does not matter, the chain is just the transfer of power. Most likely to do with how the chain gets assembled at the factory.
Put all this money into the tech only to cheap out in where it’s most important

How long does this repair take please?
I just did this recently. It did take care of the harsh 1-2 shift, but I still feel a hard/delay shift from P to D. It took me about two hours for everything ( drain, remove pan, remove TCM, seal fix, etc).

Do you know if you can get both cams out of a 2010 Pilot in the car? I know I can get the front out, but not sure of the rear. Both cam lobes are pitted. Can't get front cam from Honda anymore. Tried getting used heads from salvage yards. All of those had bad cams also. Going to try a reman'd head from parts store, and just take the cam out, and whichever rockers I'll need to replace due to pitting. Rear cam is supposedly still available
Not sure if you can, it was a tight fit on this model. Sucks to hear that they don't make them anymore..
@@shanewalsh5493 yes, it's a shame. This engine was used on so many models for so many years. It's a 2010 pilot, it's not that old! It's an auction car somebody bought. When he told me it taps, I thought right away, auction car, probably needs a cam. I've done them before when I worked for Honda, but never had to do a rear one. So I know the front one I can slide out, just not sure about the rear. I would think if you pulled one out of an accord, the pilots bigger, so should be more room. Sounds logical, right? Oh well, guess I'll find out. LoL

I have an Acura TL and the dealer wants to change out my cam shafts.. is it worth it? It isn’t a cheap service either. What are your thoughts. Apparently they want to do 2 on mine I believe…
Any damages or worn camshafts lobes .. if not I would not replace them..
@@shanewalsh5493 they said it’s starting to wear, I get a ticking noise sometimes when I start my vehicle in the mornings.. $3500 just for that service..
