Van Life By The River
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 3 มิ.ย. 2020
Prologue: “Van Life By The River” was an intended one year project by Kim and Jerry. This project was started in response to the fear and hysteria caused by the “V” in 2019/2020. It was their way to communicate to you, their fellow human being to remain calm and keep perspective of the TRUE nature of things. Many of the videos over the next year and a half (the project was extended) contain countless hidden meanings and messages to you. There is so much going on beneath the surface of these videos and it is up to you to be discover these messages for yourself. Jerry’s videos are pure poetry and require you to free your mind from surface conventional thinking. Let’s just call this their valiant effort to “balance out the world” as they counter opposing forces that want to control you. Guardian Angels work for you in many different ways. Now you know. Now enjoy Van Life By The River!
This is no ordinary “van life” or travel channel. Also, this channel was not monetized in any way.

Our channel ended as abruptly as it started which is so Jerry. We wanted to make this one last episode which tells you exactly what our channel was about. We were not a van life travel channel. We were not an instructional channel. We were a love story and almost every episode was just about that. Two people, totally in love, enjoying God's wonders with each other. Simple and beautiful. Part 5 of our multi-part series about building a beautiful pon at our Wyoming property. We planned it, we dug it, we lined it, plumbed it, skimmed it. Now the final stages of rocking with multi tons of rocks of all sizes is taking place. We also create the outer edges of the pond in a rarely seen technique of using artificial grass. Watch as we do some heavy lifting to get us across the goal line.

I've been struggling to find free places to camp at even though I grew up at Maine and this was so informative. I have one of those books and to be honest struggle to know what to look for. So thank you so much for all the information it helped a lot
I am really glad that this helps you find those amazing places just waiting out there for you. Maine is a magical state with so much beauty. And there is still places out there where you can go to get away from the crowds. Thank you for watching and putting a comment here!
It looks like you have what I think is one of those cellular booster antennas on your van. Can you tell me the make and model of that hardware? I would love that info because I've been thinking about something to help me connect better in remote places!
Ah I see on part 2 that you showed us the booster antenna, looks like you attached it to a telescoping pole for extra height. Good thinking!
Hi there! That is a WeBoost Drive X with an omnidirectional antenna. I did not purchase WeBoost's most powerful booster because the separation between the outside and inside antenna is minimal due to the short length of the van. Most folks who complain that their cell booster does not work properly don't have proper separation. Either that or they are not in good enough cell service to boost the signal in the first place. Our cell booster worked very well coast to coast on ATT's network. But we now have Starlink and we utilize our cell booster very little now. Starlink has worked out extremely well for us for data and wifi calls using our iPhones. That fiberglass telescoping pole is designed for people who fly streamers or similar things above their RV's. You see them alot in the desert like at Quartzsite. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for watching!
@@VanLifeByTheRiver Thank you so much for such a thorough explanation!
👋😐
Trying to figure out camping with my 13 y o as an adult who's had NO fun...I'm scoping out anything I can find for free campsites and info. Ty for sharing.
Thank you for watching. I think that it is awesome that you are spending time together out there in nature. If you live in Maine, there is tons of amazing campsites waiting for you both.
So glad you enjoy and respect nature. Specifically the snapping turtle. On a different TH-cam channel the guy was fishing from a kayak. He went up to a big snapping turtle that was sleeping on a partially submerged dead tree. He poked the turtle's shell with the end of his paddle, turtle was startled and lunged into the water. That foolish stunt annoyed me so much I unsubscribed immediately and never watched another one of his videos. Really enjoyed your video, you have a new subscriber 💚🐢👌
Sorry for the late reply. We have extreme reverence for the animals, the trees, heck, even the rocks out there in nature. You can say that it is our church, our spiritual connection with God's creation. To intentionally harass or harm an animal is beyond our capabilities. But we don't begrudge those folks who hunt and fish for sport and to put food on the table. Thank you for subscribing. You will find this channel digs way below the surface and is extremely sensitive and touching. It's a sneak peek into the mind of a high functioning autistic person who sees the world in his own way. It may seem normal on the surface but there is a tremendous amount of veiled symbolism going on rapid fire. It takes a keen eye to pick it out and we hear from those folks frequently. Those who know...know. Welcome to the channel.
Subscriber 615 here… I live in Maine and have many secret camping spots.. what is the cell signal booster you use?
Hi! Maine is an absolutely beautiful place to get out into the wilds and have some solitude. That signal booster is the WeBoost Drive X RV. We did not get the most powerful booster because the separation of the inside and outside antennas is minimal with a 19 foot van. The WeBoost customer service actually advised me NOT to buy their most expensive unit because they though it might be too powerful for our particular installation. That would cause interference between the two antennas and result in the system not working properly. Ours worked perfectly and allowed us cell data in some extremely remote locations. Now we primarily rely on Starlink not only for internet data but to make WiFi calls on our iPhones. Works great! Thank you for watching!
Which month were you here?
Hello Kathy! All this footage was shot on the first week of August. The weather was perfect and we had an amazing time staying there. Thank you for checking out our episode!
What do you use for a drone?
Great video
Thank you Kathy. Really glad you enjoyed it. Our "silly little videos" (as I call them) are a labor of love that were incredibly fun to make. I miss making them. We are still out and about just as much as ever, but not documenting our travels at the moment. The "one year project" was completed at 18 months and we packed our recording gear away. However, who knows what the future may bring if decide to dust off that equipment again. Appreciate you watching! Take care!
Awesome content, congratulations, hope to see you again, happy travels, much blessings to all, your videos have given me comfort and confidence to venture in the wild
Dude! What an incredible compliment! Just get out there, my friend. Out there is where the TRUTH is to be found. Everything else is just an illusion. Take care!

Just came across this. Your videos are very inspirational. Yall have a great one and hope to meet up again … ShadoWolf🎩
@@rockinvanlife Yes, ShadoWolf! Our last and final episode of Van Life By The River. A one year project that went 18 months. It served its purpose by connecting with a small, but very special group of people, who really "got it". And you, my friend, honored in one of the episodes by it being dedicated to the one and only ShadoWolf. We will definitely cross paths again. We will be back to Quartzsite at the usual time and the usual place if everyone else decides to congregate again. Until then, Godspeed friend.

You both are an awesome couple. Your videos are top notch and will be missed. Enjoy life 🙏
Ahh man! Thank you for that! Hey, you never know. We might pop up again in one way or another. We are heading into an exciting new direction (although still the same concept as before) so we might get the bug to do some more! Sadly the van is gone but we have something new that will bring many more adventures to come.

Well, thank you very much! We hope you have enjoyed our happy little channel. Blessings to you too!
Flagrant violation of regulations in ADK - you are not allowed to park your vehicle within 150 feet of the water. Vehicles cause soil compaction and erosion that sends sediment into ecologically fragile ponds and lakes, and nobody who's in the wilderness wants to look across the water and see a mobile home sitting on the shore.
❤❤❤❤!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ right back at you! Thanks for watching!
THE STORY: Every single element of this video (pictures, videos, song) has an intense meaningful connection to our relationship. From the opening picture of our wedding at the Bellagio Fountains to the final scene depicting our connection to God and his miracle that is nature. Our life together has been one of peace, serenity, adventure, and love. For a brief moment in time, we gave people a tiny peek behind the curtain of a better way, particularly during a time when the entire world was going through an existential crisis. It was our best attempt at trying to "balance out the universe" against the forces of evil that had a firm grip on society. We rebuked the evil and ran head first into the danger carrying a torch to light the way against fear and to forcefully counter those who tried to oppress us. Let's just say we doubled down on life. It was the best time of our lives.
Beautiful scenery with a beautiful couple. We have enjoyed being in your back pocket on your journeys. Cheers to the next stage of your travels. Until we meet again.🫶
Thank you! You two are very special to us and we will be seeing you again soon. It was fun having you come along. We will keep doing what we do. It's all we know. Love you guys!
Very happy to see you guys again on film/video. You two make a wonderful couple in many ways. Just totally awesome scenery . Hoping to catch up with y’all again some time .. many blessings…. Shadowolf🎩
Ahh, how very fitting our number 1 showed up before anyone else. It was an extreme pleasure chatting with you. Hopefully, we cross paths again. Take good care of yourself, friend!
In your experience, are the campsites on public reserve lands always free? This is a great video, so full of information!
Hi there! What we observed is that the vast majority that we came across were free. However, we did see some that had small fees but those were few and far between. The Great North Woods of Maine are waiting for you. Now get out there and enjoy! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! See you out there.
@@VanLifeByTheRiver Thank you so much! I cannot wait to explore Maine's wilderness
I really like the van. I've always wanted a 4x4 van. After seeing yours, I may get one. We used to carry our kayaks this way on the back of our Allegro class A but went to inflatable kayaks a few years ago. They are just as good as our hardshell kayaks. Aquaglide and Advanced Elements make awesome drop stitched heavy duty kayaks. Soooo much easier and we never have to worry about them getting damaged or someone messing with them.
Ah man, the van is absolutely the best thing I have ever bought. So many great memories! We are awaiting arrival of inflatable SUP’S. We are incredibly hard on our kayaks so I don’t know if the inflatable’s would be able to handle it. We will find out soon, though. I would so encourage you to get out there with your own van. What an. amazing way to see our beautiful country. Thanks for checking out this video and make sure to take a look at the others!
@@VanLifeByTheRiver Oh you are welcome. I've especially enjoyed your videos in Maine. We will be visiting next summer. We have the inflatable Aquaglide SUPs also. They are awesome. If you like being in the water, you'll love'em!
I LOVED your video. The music you chose for your bike ride was perfect and beautiful!
Oh, thank you so much for the compliment! Choosing the music is an important part of our process in conveying to you the "feel" of what we are experiencing. Sometimes it takes us quite a while before finding just the right song. However, it is one of Jerry's favorite parts of editing our episodes. Thank you for watching and let us know if you like any others!
is this in the moose river plains?
Hi! The exact location that we filmed this is at (44.4734704, -74.2747832). Paul Smith’s is the nearest town. The exact location wasn’t discussed in this episode because there are so many places just like it spread throughout the entire region. So this was more about showing the region in general and the beauty that awaits you there. If you have not already, I encourage you to explore the Adirondacks to discover so many hidden gems, like this one, waiting for you. Thank you for watching!
Nice video. Just like William Vaughan, with 2 friends living in Sedona we tried hard to find Arch Indian ruin after visiting the Subway but we couldn't find it. Would you be kind to give us some help for our next attempt next Spring ?
We would absolutely love to try to help you find Arch Ruins. OK, so after checking my AllTrails recordings (which there was a ton to sift through), I narrowed it down to this coordinate to shoot for (34.9349991, -111.8611183). Same initial start as Subway. We went off the main trail at a dry creek bed before the Subway turn off. You could go to Subway and then depart there to the Northeast towards that coordinate picking your way along game trails or any established paths so the vegetation is not disturbed. We walk up the dry creek to avoid the noise of other folks. Once you get just south of that coordinate, look for a way to make your way up the canyon wall. There are multiple layers of shelves that you shimmy up. You will walk along the canyon walls about midway up the shelves and you will find the arch. Nearby, along the ledge to the south of the ruin is a great little place to eat lunch on a ledge overlooking the canyon towards the Subway area. We usually see Subway on our way back once we have had our time of solitude at Arch Ruins. I give these coordinates because Arch Ruins is a very well known and very well traveled location to the locals as well as the visitors from out of town. It is slightly harder to locate for the first time, though. Let us know how it goes. Thank you for watching!
@@VanLifeByTheRiver Thank you very much, your help has been greatly appréciated !
I dnt think bringing an rv is at all camping. That place looks lovely maybe its really il go there whats the best way to get there if you have an pathological hatred of motor vehicles is there an airport at Greenville or is it far cheaper to hitch hike?
You could very well have a good point about the “camping” if using an RV. Interesting thought there. If you didn’t want to drive a vehicle, then arriving via airline into Bangor and bicycling with all your gear is an option. That could be quite a nice adventure. We have come across several travelers riding their bicycles across the USA and beyond. As far as hitchhiking, I don’t have a clue whether that works any more. Seems that our society has become much less trusting of others which is unfortunate. Either way, if you make it to this campsite, you are going to have a good time. Thank you for watching! Safe travels!

Steven, the northern terminus of the famous Appalachian trail is mt. Katahdin , just west of Millinocket. Why not take that renowned hike, from Georgia or anywhere along the trail, depending on how much time you have.
@@kenmasteren are there leeches there ?
This episode, by far, is my favorite film I have ever created for this channel. It was filmed and edited purely from the heart. I was able to make it exactly the way I would like to make all of our episodes. I have been contemplating making an entirely new channel with content in this exact format. Let the camera tell the story with the music track setting the mood and emotion. The journey of this trip to coastal Maine was quite spiritual. I hope that comes through loud and clear. Also, in virtually all of our episodes, they are packed with meaning and symbolism that is beneath the surface. This one is no exception. Relax your mind, sit back and let me transport you to a better place. Note: This episode resulted in me being listed on IMDB which is very exciting for me. Big love to all of you!
No Grizzlies in Oregon. Those are in Alaska. We do have brown bears and black bears. Still scary though glad you're okay. Carry a pistol. Cougars are always around and you would be surprised how many times they have stalked you and you would never know until it's too late.
True. No grizzlies in Oregon. The title was just mocking the click bait titles that other TH-cam channels do. It was sort of an experiment we did to see if viewership goes up much when a stunt like that is pulled. However, we did it tongue in cheek as the true “Grizzly encounter” was Grizzly Tuna in Seaside, OR of which is insanely good fish and chips. Honestly, the best going we have ever found. Really good folks too. Thank you for watching and definitely thank you for the advice on the hiking safety too. PS. The clickbait titles definitely increase views so now we know why they are done so much.
@@VanLifeByTheRiver Love it!! Funny story I will be visiting Seaside soon so now I have to try this place. Love the vids :)

Hands down, gota be one of the best offroader to ever hit the trails... XJ Its an icon.
You are so right on. Incredibly capable machine right from the factory. I did end up installing an aftermarket bumper (front and back) with a winch. The main reason for the bumper was so I could tow the XJ behind our adventure van. I did keep all the original parts just in case I ever wanted to put it right back to factory stock. Ironically, I am going to sell the XJ soon. I bought a new Chevy Colorado ZR2 which will now be towed behind our motorhome. I have been racking my brains out trying to find a reason to hang on to the XJ but I can’t find one. It will just end up sitting on our property in Wyoming which would be a waste. I will be putting the word out soon. This XJ is particularly sweet. Autographed under the hood by the lead singer of a very famous rock band who was the original owner. Very very cool dude. Shhh, It’s a secret, though! Thanks for watching!
She sounds sweet, be sad to let her go. Yea it was hard finding a good one at the right price..but I did finally find a pretty clean XJ. Nill rust, nice straight body, geart interior, so yea happy chappy 😊🇦🇺
What bike are you riding?
Kim is riding an ebike from Ride1up. I am riding an ebike from Lectric. Both have served us well despite being exposed to the weather 24/7 on the back of our van. You can’t go wrong with the bikes from Lectric. Thank you for watching!
Many hikers have under estimated the Tucker revine trail and sadly manly have died. Mostly in winter but, others don't realize what it does to their bodies. Good for you for trying!! I have done it 3 times but, when I was much younger.
Something definitely happened to us on this hike. Very unusual and what I would consider our first fail at completing our objective. Although Kim would have gutted it out going back down, I decided that I would find a better way for both of us. We thoroughly enjoyed this hike! Congratulations on summiting Mt. Washington 3 times! To do it just once is a bucket list item for so many. Thank you for watching!
I love the theme song from "on Golden pond" filmed here in New Hampshire where I have lived my whole life. I'm very disappointed that you have no videos of you camping in New Hampshire,..
On Golden Pond is such a special film that is very near and dear to our hearts. That is the one and only song that Jerry learned to play on the piano, just because. However, we did honor your state with our episode, "Mountain Top Rescue". Incredible beauty and a surprise ending for us on our adventure up Mount Washington. Thank you for joining us!
Wow! I just found this video and you sure cover all the info of the area. Thanks, I'm going to research it further.
So glad you found us! Although we don't give alot of instruction in our videos, we love to show our search efforts to enjoy nature wherever we go. Thank you for joining us!
Nothing prettier than an unmolested XJ
I paddle this spot often, I would be more concerned with the leaches than the snapping turtle, the tea color is due to tannins in the water that leach from the bog area, very common in most of the local water ways, its always fun to find a clear river lake or pond. I drink this tannin colored water often but boil it first, I hope to paddle up the Northern Inlets some time this summer.
What a spot! Beautiful!😊

You guys rock!!!
Just saw this - good one.
Thank you! One of my favorites. There is a whole lot going on here in the final segments.
A little note about this video. The music in this video was directed by an amazingly talented woman who led the choir that you hear. Her name was Phyllis and we became fast friends, but unlikely friends. Unlikely because Phyllis was a very no nonsense and deliberate woman while I was somewhat foot loose and wild eyed. But, somehow, the bond between us was strong and we thoroughly enjoyed each other's company when we did get together now and then. Unfortunately, at the time that we first met, Phyllis was suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer. During our times together, Phyllis loved to hear about adventures outdoors and especially my reverence for nature. So, I surprised her with this video as a gift. I used this song of hers because I felt it was the most beautiful piece of music that I had ever heard from this choir in Santa Barbara, CA, of which Phyllis was the director. A very well known lady in Santa Barbara. She absolutely loved this video and said, to my surprise, that she watched it every day to give her peace and calmness, especially during the bad days of her illness. I was so happy to hear that it gave her comfort. Eventually, the world lost Phyllis after a valiant battle in which she fought years past the initial prognosis of her physicians. But Phyllis lives on in the hearts and minds of the countless people that she taught and directed during her amazing music career, and through the beautiful music that came from her efforts. She is sorely missed.
