Do people leave their cell phone in transition?
Great question! In triathlon races (in USA), there is a “no cell phone” policy. Music/ear phones are also prohibited. This is for safety of the athletes (ie so you can hear cars while cycling). You could leave your cell in a backpack in transition. But, personally, I leave my cell in my car, bc there’s very limited room in transition.
@courtneysmithtriathlon thank you, it didn't occur to me about the safety issue
@courtneysmithtriathlon This one I don't know where, will be my first
A panick attack on the Wetsuit? How come?
I don’t think ww truly know what causes it. But, many triathletes I know have them every once in a while. Even triathletes who have been doing the sport for years. Personally, I have never had one if I am not wearing a wetsuit. I think it has to do with the constriction of wetsuits (for me).
@courtneysmithtriathlon oh I see, I think I undersant now. Never happened to me though, I feel like I wear a protective armor.
Very good advise.
Glad it was helpful!
Love it!!!🎉❤😂
Thanks Oscar!!!! It’s my new workout dance routine!! 😆😂🥳🪩🕺🏻💃🌽

Great tips! In particular, joining a club was something I hadn't thought of. I just looked one up in my area and it looks great, with lots of weekly classes and social rides, etc. Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed the tips! Thank you for watching 🙏 It’s great you found a local group. You will meet fellow athletes and have fun. It’s always nice to have a group to train with, and they will also be your biggest fans/cheer sections at races. Have fun and happy training!

What Elite/Pro Athletes Are Using (that you can do too!): 17:00 - 19:05
Thank you. Planning on doing my 1st in may and am a little nervous. Lots of unknowns.
Most welcome! You got this. 🙌 Just focus on finishing and having fun. You’ll learn something new with every race. If you have any questions, please ask. I’ll answer as best I can ☺️
@ I’m signed up for 3, 1st is learning how it works from bib pickups to starting and transitioning. Then I’m going to start really pushing for performance. I’m running 4 times a week biking 3 and swimming 3. Weights two days, could use some tips to avoid over or under training. I’m in pretty good shape but want to be at my best, I have until may to be tuned in.
Dam she bring more stuff to a sprint then I'd bring to an Ironman and defiantly a Yank, Wetsuits are mandatory in most of Europe. My list for a sprint is quite simple Wetsuit, Trisuit, race belt , goggles, bike shoes (both bike and running) that's it. Sprint don't last long so don't bother with nutrition, good breakfast is more than enough to cover you for the distance
No bike helmet? 😉 Weather, personal preference, etc. have a lot to do with equipment list. Hot temp races in US mean salt/nutrition are important. If water is too warm, wetsuits are not allowed. Personally, I would never race without a hat/visor/sunglasses. But again, it’s all about where you are racing and personal preference. Thanks for the feedback, and good luck in your upcoming races! 🙌
great tips mate
Thanks my friend! Hope you are well! 🙂

I have tried to keep most of the content on this channel focused on fitness, running and triathlon. I never wanted it to evolve into a channel about cancer. In my mind, cancer was a temporary battle and once I was through treatment, I would go back to training and racing. And I will! My first race in 2025 is a 10 mile trail race in March. I am totally out of running shape, so I’ll be sharing the journey as I resume training. I did however, want to shed light on the fact that cancer did affect my life, despite all the healthy precautions I took. If there is anything I want viewers to take away from the cancer topics I shared, it’s this: - going into a cancer diagnosis as a fit, healthy person is imperative. Your body can handle the treatments better and you are more likely to bounce back from any surgeries faster than someone in poor health. - cancer is not a death sentence. If you are an endurance athlete, use that same mindset you do in racing to approach your cancer journey. One mile at a time. - STAY POSITIVE. Studies show that a positive mindset is directly related to improved rates of survivorship post cancer. - a healthy lifestyle that includes whole foods, and regular fitness is one of the best ways to prevent cancer. Thank you for watching and ROCK ON 💪 Courtney

🥳🌷 So glad you said walk one minute run one minute. Last month did my first 5K for St. Children's Hospital. Had not run since high school I'm now 55 🤣. I do easy runs which consist of on a perfect day walking 6 minutes and now I'm up to running 3 minutes. Just feel frustrated when I see other people running much longer distances.👍 😱 Drink days before the run 🥤
Congrats on your 5k! And what a wonderful cause. 🙏☺️ I know it can be frustrating to see others running longer distances. You will get there. Running is really just about consistency. Walk/run is one of the healthiest things you can do for your body. So you are doing great! You are allowing your heart rate to go back down when you walk, which helps train your cardio system. Keep doing that consistently, and over time you will do longer distances. Also, if you can find little hills, walk up those ☺️ they help a lot. You are doing great!! Please don’t hesitate to comment with any other questions, as I will help provide any insight I can! Great work 🙌🫵💪
🥳👍 Move everyday 💯
