We shot this in one evening for an intro to a sermon series on The Pilgrim's Progress. This was our modern interpretation of the classic allegory of the spiritual journey. This was (obviously) almost all handheld except for one composited shot (more on that later). We used the G Master 24-70 lens. One blue LED panel light was used for ambient "moonlight." We used the Aperture 300d mk II for the...

Really good. Great music choice
VERY PLEASURABLE TO WATCH. WHAT LENSES ARE USED HERE ?
Hi, I know this was posted 2 years ago, but when using the raveneye, do you need a usb splitter to go into the camera as there is only 1 usb c port on the pocket 4k?
Very sweet...
You use SmallRig 2851? Or another?
Something like this. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1421778-REG/smallrig_1092_cheese_plate_multi_purpose_mounting.html
And what keeps the autofocus and lens?
Can you send links?
Love the arrangement.
So incredible ❤
Thanks, Jeanne!
Love that arrangement! Nice.
Thanks, John! Threw in a meter change!
There's a lot of cool family traditions. The Dittmer family Christmas video ranks highly among them. Merry Christmas, Dittmers!
Thanks, Brandon! Saw a picture of your little one - what a cutie! Hope all that wisdom you sought out is coming in handy! 😊
Did you use counterweight ???
No, but a cheese plate on the bottom of the P4k to offset it in the gimble.
how were you powering the camera?? canon batteries ?
The color grading of this is ugly and drab
is this small enough to pack in a bag for a carry-on?
What lenses were used?
🤣🤣 this is great 👍🏽
Your videos are very... Well... You should be at the sharp end of the camera for a living... A very naturally funny guy.... And yeah, the content is quite helpful too sometimes 😶
What cable are you using for the HDMI port into the raven eye?
which is the ssd holder? Can you send me the link? Thanks and really nice video!
I would like it too ! I don't want to buy a full SmallRig for just a SSD 😥
How did you hide the Sony cs3 lav mic? I couldn’t get the clip off to make a flat tape sandwich
Hey Jay, on females, I have them clip it to the center of their bra strap. On the guy, we taped it under his colllar.
Vacano !
great job explaining. loved it. thanks a lot
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed!
Great video!
Love the newest cinematic Christmas card video! Cheers and a happy new year to you and your family!
Thank you so much! Same to you and yours!
FYI your vocal is mono on the left track only.
Does the phone holder ever get in the way of gimbal rotation?
It’s adjustable, So you can keep it out of the way.
Im employed full time as a content creator for a professional football club but so far have only done writing and photography and want to add video to my arsenal. Theres an opportunity online to but an RS2 pro combo and black magic 4k cinema. Having never shot video before and unsure how the focusing even works, would this be a good beginner setup to immediately shoot quality videos? I have extensive experience as a professional stills photographer so can understand camera operation from that side of things.
It’s a great combination that I highly recommend. However, if you thought you would be shooting a good deal of action footage of the team (like on the field with them) I might recommend something with auto focus like the Sony A7S III (which I also own), The Pocket 4K is a Cinema Camera, it is designed for movies and documentaries. If that is the content you would be shooting, it’s perfect and I don’t think you can beat the image. But tracking a moving subject on the run with manual focus and a shallow depth of field is nearly impossible, If you’ve seen any professional American football games recently, many of them have gone to using a Sony auto focus SLR on a gimbal for their guy on the field camera (use to be a full steady cam rig). In these buttery shots you see the shallow depth of field and the auto focus at work.
Awwww this will be me very soon.
so beautiful, love it
Thanks so much!
nice video. thanks. my question is Can it control blackmagic 4k to record and stop?
Yes, if you plug it into the USB C port.
You are so entertaining! Please tell me the battery life while charging bmpcc 4K + focus system, Thanks 🙏🏻
Question from a newbie: Is there a way to attach this gimbal or any other type of gimbal to a chest or shoulder harness so I could walk with it for a long time and not have to hold it just with my arms ? Thank you very much.
Hi great video, just wondering if the gimbal can power the BMPCC 4k as well?
Hey man, I just got the RS2 for my BMPCC6k + Sigma 18-35. I balance it perfectly and calibrate, but I see a lot of jitters on my footage. How would you recommend getting rid of those while filming?
You can't even on the sample footage the gimbal isn't performing well. Sell BMPCC6k and lens and get a sony a7siii with some OSS lens.
@@lysander2136 absolutely incorrect.
Came to watch as I'm also a proud GH4 owner and love it even on 2021. This is a great surprise. This is the most beautiful short film I've ever seen on the web. It made me cry as never before. Keep on doing such amazing work! God Bless!
Thank you so much! I showed your comment to Tommy (Ben) and you may have inspired us to make another. Thanks for the motivation. 🙂
What base plate do you use? My bmpcc 4k doesn't fit on my rs2....
Used a SmallRig cheese plate.
How do connect an external SSD on the BMPCC4k if one has to give up the cameras usb-c port for the gimbals camera control?
You can use RavenEye on your phone for a monitor and still use the SSD. Everything we did in the video was with an SSD in the usb-c port. We also bought a CFast card to free up the port for additional camera control.
@@skyvistaproductions118 Thank you.
I have canon 85mm f1.2 II USM which weight around 1.25kg approx and canon 5d mark iv wt is 800gm..so total would be 1825gm approx....and rs2 payload capacity is max 4.5kg HANDHELD as per site...But as per dji compatibility list, it doesn't support canon 85mm 1.2 II USM but support f1.4 & 1.8..Even so RSC2 support 85mm f1.2 II USM which has lower payload capacity (3Kg) than RS2...So i am getting confused whether to purchase RS2 or RSC2 ? Please help me in this regard if its possible..
I'd spring for the RS2 to give yourself more flexibility. 85mm is a pretty long lens for a gimble - not ideal. I'd recommend something in the 16 to 50mm range for a gimble.
As a GH4 owner and actor, I loved this movie. It was so good. You guys put in some good work. I'm glad I watched this.
Thanks, Randy!
Great info and presentation, Stephen Thumberg! i got one and it's great!
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying it!
I need to buy the focus motor and raven aye . Now I know is really need it . Good video .
Thanks 👍 Yes, well worth it.
Nice video! I got my RS2 pro combo yesterday, and I'm impressed with everything. One problem though. I can't get the camera control to work. No record, no focus, no ISO control, no nothing. Connecting with the included USB-C cable. Any suggestions?
Bernt, did you get it figured out? Just make sure you are in the right output from the RS2 (and then into the P4K USBC).
Great video! looking to get this gimbal to pair with my bmpcc4k . Thanks for the info!
Glad it was helpful!
How do you power the bmpcc4k. I have a huge battery but im sure the ra2 wont hold its weight up
I have a Juicebox mouted to the gimble handle.
Hey, thanks for video. Do you know if there is any way to use other focus motors than dji's (like nucleus nano) and record to SSD? Is there another solution besides cfast cards? Thank you so much
You can record to an SSD as long as the USB-C port is open on the P4k. Everything we show in the video is with SSD recording. The only thing you can’t do is control camera functions like record start / stop, ISO, etc, because that requires the RS2 to connect via USB-c to the P4k. So, any focus motor that does not require use of the P4k’s USB-C will allow you to record to SSD.
@@skyvistaproductions118 Thank you very much for clearing this out for me!!!
12:20 exactly what i came looking for. So when the T5 ssd is used, you cant control from your mobile device or you just cant control from the gimbal buttons? Thats one thing i dont understand because i did see you use the mobile to control zebras and other settings but cant change iso?? Thanks funny dude
With the T5 you need the USB-C port on the P4k so you cannot use camera control. But, you can use the phone monitoring through the RavenEye WiFi and control the monitoring functions (false color, focus peaking, etc).
Can you please help me out.... how did you attached the RS2 and the T5HDD to your bmpcc?
A SmallRig cheese plate to offset the P4k and a Tilta SDD holder for the T5.
congratulations on a excellent short film! Was this entered into any film fests? We are living in an amazing time for indie filmmaking. Now almost anyone can get a Blackmagic Camera and be able to produce high-quality images like this short film. Now the images can properly support the images and make everyday things like walking to the mailbox look beautiful!
Thank you. We did not. We were really just looking for a chance to use the camera but we were pleased with the outcome!
I really enjoyed this short, great acting and directing, and not forgetting, the editing. Just a little feedback, nothing major, the profile close ups are to close and the side shots are too much as it hides the other person talking. It's just my personal view... other than that, I love it. 👌
Thanks, and thanks for the feedback!
Pastor, I just got my RS2 for the bmpcc6k but I did want to use my SSD, is there a cord solution that will fix the fact that there is only one USB- C port??? C fast is expensive after this purchase - want to use what I have already splurged on lol
No cable solution, but you only lose remote camera control. Not a big deal.
